Where is it coming from and how do I disable it? I've been using handcents popup and I like it better. I tried looking through the stock messing app options and could not find it. It throws me off when txting and I only want 1. How do I disable this new popup?

using chompsms and only get one....something you might consider is just removing the .apk of the stock app and see if it helps / doesn't mess anything up

(MOD)..Disable screen wake on when receiving a text

Hey im from the sprint galaxy note 2 forum and the screen wake on when receiving a text was annoying so I figured you guys could use a fix for it if you dont like your screen turning on...this is without using go sms or light flow or any other app this will work right away with stock message app so if you like the fix hit the thanks button
THANKS to ( AEVZ )
for testing for me as I have the sprint version and not the AT&T version
( flashable zip thru recovery)
(Wipe cache and dalvic cache before flashing zip)
If running DE-ODEX just wipe cache and dalvic cache and flash
people running ODEX
delete your SecMms.odex file from your system/app/ first before flash
Hope it helps some of you who hate the screen turning on when receiving a text

Im not trying to be a douche but if you read my post I did say, this without using "go sms" or light flow or any other app so obviously people would know that so if you wanna use go sms thats fine but unlike you some other people may want to use the stock sms without having to install any other messaging app. .

It doesnt alter any timestamps or anything, your the first to report this..try going to settings manage applications and click on all and look for the messaging app and clear cache and data on it and use rom manager if u have it to fix all permissions and reboot and see if it works now

LG keyboard greyed out options

Hey all. I just got the phone yesterday and am loving it btw. I liked using the LG keyboard and having the extra row on top with the numbers. However, after messing with it for a while, that disappeared and it started to say each letter out loud and most of the options are greyed out as seen in the screen shot. The only thing I have found in searching that might have caused it is trying out light flow lite. Has anyone else experienced this or know a way to fix it?

Yes light flow and other apps seems to trigger the talkback feature even though its says its off. The solution I found is to go into setting then apps find the talk back app and uninstall it. Then all that will stop. If you ever need it again you can just install it again. I notice this only happen with LG keyboard. Other 3rd party keyboards are fine

That did it. Thank you so much! However, it worked to simply disable the Talkback app instead of actually uninstalling (it didn't have that as an option since it's a system app). Everything is good now!

There is no option there. Only a force stop option, but I believe that once you reboot your device the app is again active.

KitKat Problem

Every kitkat rom I install on my S4, keeps showing my messages icon on the status bar. Even when I clear it, it comes back.
I don't know why, or how to solve this issue.
Anyone got any ideas on this?
Thanks

Try this, go into Settings and Application manager. Under "All" look for BadgeProvider, click on it then click Force stop and clear data/cache. Reboot phone afterward. Good luck.

Yea something is up...the software version is wrong on the support page.
To verify the updated software version, go to Settings > "General" tab > About phone > Software information. The following information will be displayed:
Android version: 4.1.2
Software Version: E98010n
Baseband version: APQ8064/MDM9x15M
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Build number: JZO54K
So what changed, I'm not 100% sure but it seems like the phone already has all that.
