[Q] Doubletap2sleep and camera solution ? - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

Well Im using the lastest mokee 4.4.4 and it only has d2w , i really like d2s too so is there any roms have this feature ? btw i came from color so is there any camera app can replace the stock ? Sr for my bad english

I recommend searching for the CM11s camera APK (I belive it is available in the Oneplus One apps and themes section). It can be pushed to priv-app with rw-r-r privileges. If it doesn't work (it doesn't on some ROMs) try the Lenovo Super Camera and just regular install it. Both of those apps use the Find 7 camera to its full potential. They are only missing the 50mp option. I believe that you can set a launcher like NOVA to d2s but it requires you to be on the home screen.

I use Nova and on a double tap setting have it launch an app called "screen off and lock". I rarely use the power button anymore.

Z1 Compact assign physical Camera button to launch other camera app

I've been using the physical camera button to launch camera when out about. The reason I asked this here as I found the Stock camera app is not that good for auto focus (I’ve tried Manual too) compare to other camera apps such as FX cam, cymera, etc.
I would like to know are there any way to assign the camera button to launch a different app + it will work on Lock Screen too? So far I found nothing yet as I guess a special ROM needed to do this function. I am rooted and would like to know if something Xposed can do without flashing ROM. (Reason – I like the Xperia Stock)
Thank you and let’s see if this is achievable to make life easier for people do not like the Xperia Stock Camera.
Bump
I would like to bump up this thread as I'm also looking for a way to assign a different camera app with the hardware button.
2nd that! Would be nice if that button is customizable as it's pointless if you use a different camera app.

From my Samsung days, I remember that there was a file containing all the key layout maps to the physical keys. After editting it, I was able to use the volume keys as HOME and BACK. I suppose that in Sony it should be the same principle for the camera key.
I don't remember the location by heart and I don't have my phone with at the moment but try looking into /data/system/user/key-layout something file. Open it under a text editor, change it, save and reboot.
I have another question. I feel like posting it here haha.
I have noticed that the stock camera app saves your settings when you open it from the icon but when you use the physical button it is always on superior auto. Is there a way to keep my manual settings when opening it with the button?
Sent from my D5503
I've installed the gallery from a different rom and disabled the Sony camera via titanium backup. Now if I press the physical camera button when the phone is on and unlocked the "new" camera starts. I did not change anything else. Sadly I cannot start the camera from lockscreen anymore, but that's fine for me.
I have disabled the standard camera app from settings and now pressing the physical button starts the other camera that i've downloaded from play store, simple as that
are there any soulutions for changing the defaul camera app using the physical button?
If you have rooted your phone you can install Xposed Framework + Xposed Additions and reassign the buttons like you want.

[Q] S-Cover with Lollipop

I'm enjoying Lollipop on my S4 Mini, but I have a problem..
With Lollipop, you can't customize the lock screen clock, right?
I haven't found a solution, because I would like to put the clock more up, so it shows on my S-Cover display.
So I tried to install other Lock screens, but the problem I have then is that the screen doesn't show if I press the power button, while the cover is closed. That only works with the Lollipop lock screen.
So how can I solve this? Does anybody know a solution?
Either can you customize the clock on Lollipop lock screen?
Or can you enable that the screen shows when I press the power button while I'm on another lock screen?
hi !
you can try with this app => https://github.com/durka/hallmonitor ,maybe it can work ,i don't know ...
(download : https://github.com/durka/HallMonitor/blob/0.4.1/bin/HallMonitor-debug.apk?raw=true , put it on ex-SD and on a file explorer ,install it with "unknown source" enabled on security parameters )

I have tried Hallmonitor, but it made my screen go black after a phone call. I had to restart the phone to be able to use it again, so I uninstalled it. I also tried S-View Lite from Google Play, but it's the same problem there like with all the other lockscreens from Google Play, I can't put the screen on with power button if the cover is closed. That only works with Lollipop default lockscreen.
I don't think it is as easy as just getting an app since the s-view cover uses an sensor and the holo sensor to activate it. I guess we will have to wait till some developers start in that or Samsung releases an SDK or even better Lolipop Update

Hall sensor works in cm11 and 12 what is missing is the sview lockscreen
State of HallMonitor development
Development of HallMonitor seems to have stopped since version 0.4.2 (latest commit of the author "durka" is from 22 Jul 2014). This version doesn't support CM12(.1) (see issue 52 on durka's GitHub page).
The suggested installation of the "MagnetOff" Xposed module is not a very useful workaround since you can't use the hall sensor (magnet sensor) anymore and would have to fall back on the proximity sensor (which is a pain in the a**).
The GitHub user "manusfreedom" has added several features and took development up to his version 2.0.2 beta (but his last commit is quite old too, from 21 Sep 2014). Has anyone tested manusfreedoms fork on CM12(.1)? Or does anyone know about a revival of HallMonitor's development? Would be so awesome to have this for CM12.1 ... :cyclops:
To customize the clock position, try this.
You need Xposed for this. -->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-lock-screen-clock-mods-t3069272/post59810253

[Guide] Google lockscreen on Sense with workaround for Sense camera.

Before I start the Google lockscreen shortcut to camera is a 'dirty' fix using Tasker.
First things first let's get Google Lockscreen working.
(1) Install Root Explorer or similar
(2) Navigate to /system/priv-app
(3) Locate HtcLockScreen.apk
(4) Rename it to HtcLockScreen.apk.bak
(5) Reboot
Getting the lockscreen camera shortcut icon.
(1) That's easy install Google camera.
(2) Reboot
Linking lockscreen to Sense camera. This is where Tasker (or similar) comes in.
(1) Create a new Task called 'Camera'
(2) Add action App-Launch App
(3) Select Sense camera
(4) Finish Task
(5) Now create a Profile called 'Camera'
(6) Choose Application as the trigger
(7) Select Google camera
(8) Finish Profile
(9) Link 'Camera' Profile to 'Camera' Task
Now when you swipe left from Google lockscreen HTC camera will be launched. Here's a screen recording of this in action.

Trying to understand the mechanics behind this a little bit before attempting. In essence, by renaming the HTCLockscreen.apk prevents the device from loading up the Sense lockscreen, and by installing Google Camera, that would render the AOSP lockscreen? I'm on a ROM that doesn't include the SetupWizard so I can't replicate the older method of running the SetupWizard after renaming to get the AOSP lockscreen.

I've tried using the old method of getting AOSP on KitKat and below, which involves renaming the HTCLockscreen.apk, then rebooting. Afterwards, you'd need to ADB and run the Google Setup Wizard to get the AOSP lockscreen working. I've tried just renaming it and with and without Lockscreen turned on, double tap to wake gives me a haptic vibration like it normally would, but it gives me a pitch black screen. If I press the sleep/power button, it would bring me straight to my homescreen/current screen.
Screen recording reupdate please? The Dropbox link has dead. I'm really appreciate your guide . That's what I eager to want, but I'm not capable of doing this without the practical video because I'm stuck in "(1) Create a new Task called 'Camera'
(2) Add action App-Launch App".
Thanks a lot!!!!

[ROM][SHARE][Redmi 1s] Flyme ui 4.5.4.5r custom rom based on 5.1.1 lollipop [11/02/20

Here I'm just sharing the ROM which I found very interested and stable enough!! Thanks to droidfull and multirom team for their works on Redmi 1s
REDMI 1S- FLYME 4.5.4.5R CUSTOM ROM
Flyme OS is a heavily modified Android variant developed by the Meizu team for their MX smartphone line. This variant is based on Android 5.1.1 LOLLIPOP and offers a few unique solutions that this Chinese OEM created for their project. And in the eyes of many, this OS is quite beautiful and almost every piece of the ROM and its UI elements have been themed to match Meizu’s philosophy.
Flyme 4.0 has a set of Flyme icons for hundreds of the most popular apps. Personally I’m not that keen on the Flyme icons as they appear to large, but Meizu had thought about that and switching from Flyme to standard icons is as simple as flicking a switch.
All your apps are arranged on the home screens of Flyme 4.0, there is no app draw, a common feature with all the ROMs here. To keep things tidy we have a dock for our most used 4 apps and other icons can be arranged in folders.
Flyme 4.0’s new notification area now extends the full length of the screen with a transparent background. Quick settings are also available here and can be customised and arranged to suit your needs.
Head in to the main settings of Flyme and things haven’t changed all that much from Flyme 3.0. There are some new colours and the switch icons are the same, but the rest of the UI remains unchanged.
From the settings we can switch between English, Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Russian. Flyme developers have also added some gesture options on the lock screen which they call “smart wake” in the settings. The options include double tap to wake, slide up to unlock, slide left to enter the camera and swipe right to open an app of your choice.
Some apps in Flyme 4.0 have been given an refresh with a simple new look and brighter colours, while the camera app has been completely reworked to offer new features and all new UI.

It was a super solid stable build... Had not even a single issue.. Using it for more than 3 days....
Main features of attraction
1.runs latest Flyme ui + lp 5.1.1 beneath
2.camera especially
3.music no breaks or glitches at all
4.tools
5.Google builtin integration
6.stability
In my case battery is average but much better than miui.
For that I'm using gods kernel 5...(have to try v6 yet).. Now the bettery performance is also super Cool
Lovn it...
I need those Off screen gestures ....

Bro.. I do have a Meizu m2 note with me...and I do love those off screen gestures(but drains some battery too)... And I'm not the dev for this ROM original devs are chainese...Multirom.me.. and I don't think our kernel does support all those screen gestures... (not present in Redmi note 3g & 4g builds too)..if you want to have wake gestures try any custom kernels with those features...
Yup I too came to know that now.
Thanks for the share buddy...
Btw, where are the button settings???
Hello all,
I am using the rom since 2 days.
I found this...
cons :
1. First of all there is no lockscreen notifications. We all love this feature from Lollipop. these notifications are introduced in Flyme 5. but flyme 5 isn't ported to our device yet..
2. We cant select two different ringtones for each sim card. Some people like me may need this..
3. There isn't any clock widget
4. Themes app wasn't translated to English yet..
5. There is no option for selecting different actions for buttons. (If it is there, how to do that..?)
6. No quick settings from Notification bar tiles. (I mean you cant go to the respective settings if long press a tile on the status bar)
7. Smart touch is not actually what Meizu mobiles have. (we have one big dot on the screen. So we have to tap or double tap the dot to do the actions. It wont work if the Screen is locked. But in Meizu mobiles it works even screen is locked and we can also select our desired gesture (Off screen) to open our desired app (or unlock or something else..)
8. There no HDR option in camera.. (why?)
===============
pros :
1. A big pro in this rom is THERE IS NO AUDIO PAUSE BUG. (yes...!)
2. UI is very nice and simple
3. Animations are good. (I like the animation while charging)
4. Performance is very good compared to others. (with no mods) I didn't find any lag.
5. Dolby atoms is already there (no need to install again). Sound is awesome

Is there a need for a custom ROM for mi5s Plus ?

Hi there,
As a proud owner of a Xiaomi mi5s Plus and a compulsive flasher of custom ROM's, I had to get rid of that addiction to flashing when I get the mi5s Plus. Not that I wanted to get rid of it, but simply put, there was no way to get satisfaction by that addiction because of the lack of material to flash.
OK... So I thought to myself : "Am I really to live with MIUI 8.0.X.0 for ever ?", which in other words, means to live with the ROM that is probably the most far away from AOSP ROM ?
Answer was, unfortunately, undoubtedly : "Yes".
So it was time for me to make a hard introspection work... and answer that most philosophical question : "WHY do I want custom ROM ?".
Basically for 2 reasons :
- 1°) because I want something close to AOSP ;
- 2°) because I want to get the ability to customize things the way I want and not be in constant constraint like iPhone users are.
And now to the point : can I get those 2 things and still use MIUI 8.0 ?
At first I thought : "Hell no. This is too close to iPhone. In fact, should you just look the screen, you think you have an iPhone".
So I decided to change things interface wise...
First reflex was to get some themes from the in-built Xiaomi Store. What a disappointment ! About 90% of those themes are called something that contains "iOS". This is EXACTLY what I want to avoid !
So how to get rid of that apparent MIUI ? The answer is pretty simple : CHANGE THE LAUNCHER ! So I installed my favourite launcher : Smart Launcher from the former "Gin Lemon" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ginlemon.flowerfree).
What do I get now ? Simple : I don't even notice that I am running MIUI anymore. Well, that is not exactly true. I still notice when I go to the "Settings". But that part is probably the only one that is still somewhat close to AOSP. So I can live with it despite so "rearrangements"... Indeed, once configured, I don't go to settings that often... So not a problem.
So I had to face the second reason for me to flash a custom ROM : customizations !
The most important thing to me is to be able to have shortcuts to actions and/or apps almost everywhere. I just hate to have to dig into menus, searches and stuff to be able to achieve what I am looking for. So of course, having an ROM that allows me to customize the interface is a great move. I can already have a bunch of shortcuts in Smartlauncher... but the best thing I can do is have a shortcut assigned to the hardware buttons... and there are 7 of them in the mi5s Plus (navigation : 3 ; volume : 2 ; power : 1 ; FP Scanner : 1).
So how to I do this ? I did some research but it rapidly became obvious that I will need to unlock the phone to root it and so be able to install XPosed framework and some XPosed modules. So I did. Applied to get the unlock code ; got it after 3 days. Unlocked the device, installed TWRP, installed SuperSU and installed XPosed framework.
So I of course installed the ultimate swiss army knife of UI customization : GravityBox. Unfortunately, it was of little help. It only really works when you have a "close to AOSP" ROM. But as mentioned earlier : MIUI is the farest thing to AOSP you can imagine. So a lot of tweaks had no effects. Still the major one is still present : the "App launcher". Hit a button, it will display a "pop-up" where you can add up to 12 shortcuts to apps. So I configured the "Home Butoon" to display it with a long press... I then wanted to configure the other buttons, but some can't be configured (Volume and Power), others don't take the mod ("Recents" button from the navigation buttons) and one breaks things (FP scanner => device doesn't wake AND unlock if used).
So I digged a little deeper and found another module called "XPosed Additions" : that one allows me to configure each button (yes, all seven buttons !) and I am able to assign up to 6 actions and/or shortcuts to each one of them ! And YES : that does include the FP scanner ! Imagine : for the FP Scanner :
- display off => power on & unlock ;
- display on + 1 tap => got to "Home"
- display on + long press => show the dialer (remember, even if "Smart" it's basically a "Phone" !) ;
- display on + double tap => display off
- display on + double tap and hold => bring up the camera ;
- display on + triple tap => bring up Waze ;
- display on + triple tap and hold => bring up the Radar app.
That was it on the buttons customization side. Now there was still one thing I couldn't stand in MIUI : that was the QuickSettings. I din't liked two things : "Aqua on white" for one ; not able to hide buttons I do no use for two.
For the first thing (appearance) the "Theme Store" is a nice help. Even if the theme is labelled "iOS", you won't noticed the Apple-ish look once the Launcher is installed. But you will still keep the appearance of the Quicksettings. So I applied a theme that had an appearance I found appealing.
For the second thing, another Xposed module helped : it's called "MIUI Tweaks". I gives the ability to hide the unused QuickSettings (and sideways to tweak a little the appearance : size and stuff, but notthe colour... which leaves the Them handy !).
CONCLUSION :
Even if I am, as mentioned in the brief introduction, a compulsive custom ROM flasher, I now live with MIUI 8.0 and I must say that I don't mind doing so ! At least I have everything working (camera, gallery, network, 4G...) and I also have a really nice battery life (I have used it for 48 hours and I still have 28% even though the Play Store updates automatically and I had several rather long phone calls and played "Darkness Reborn" for about 3h and played around with settings to fine tune my set-up... which gives a SOT of about 4h45minutes).
I am now waiting for Xiaomi to release a Nougat based ROM to maybe improve battery life even more...
But to tell the truth, even without a custom ROM, I am perfectly happy with this device... of course I had to spend about 5 dollars to unlock Xposed additions and MIUI tweaks (2.5 dollars each). But those were the most well-spent 5 dollars in the last 5 years ! And I will still be able to use those even if I change the phone... which I don't think will happen too soon !
Even with the few bugs it has I enjoy using lineage 14.1 way more than MIUI. Their whole apple-like approach to everything just drove me away. MIUI is just too bloaty and made me feel like my phone was being bogged down.
I just put Nova Launcher, and I don't feel bloatware at all (after 3 days of use at least).
Wish to root. And to do some changes to some buttons.
How to root?

Hi,
Yeah... I don't like it either.
But honestly, if you install another launcher, what is left of the iOS like interface ?
The "Power Menu" ? I don't use it daily...
And maybe the Notifications... But those can be changed via an XPosed module.
But of course, I agree that having the choice between several custom ROM's would be a nice addition to this device
Regards.

Hi Claudio,
To be able to root, you first need to unlock your bootloader.
Unlocking the bootloader requires a permission to be granted by Xiaomi.
So you have to apply to get your unlock code.
To apply, please visit this page : "en.miui.com/unlock".
Regards.
In my Mi5s Plus I use "xMiui" and "Miui 8 Tweaks" modules: with these two modules, you can do many personalizzations like Gravity Box.
With BuilProp Editor I set the DPI to 360 to have a better use of display (icons in miui are so big!)
With these methods, I resolve all the problems with Miui interface.
But I have a multiboot way to switch to xiaomi.eu, Lineage and RR roms.
I hope Lineage and RR will be official for Mi5s Plus
One thing that I've discovered on my Xiaomi phones is that finding the right theme changes everything for the better. I was originally using the Android N theme, but recently switched to Stheme. I apply it globally (rather than in the window that allows customisation - dialer, messaging, status bar, etc). The advantage with doing this is that it themes the settings menu to a nice blue colour.
With Stheme installed, I get quick settings toggles that look like the Pixel's, and the colours in the stock messaging app become tolerable. I found that it themed the stock contacts app too dark for me, so I downloaded Zeny Purple, went into the customize theme page, and applied Zeny Purple to just the dialer. I also applied the Android N theme to just the icons.
Using these three themes, I was able to significantly improve things. I'm sure there are other decent themes available, although a lot of them are pretty ordinary.
