Its the HBoot and FW you have. As I'm remembering firewater doesn't work with this version jet.

Sadly your only option is sunshine. If I remember correctly sunshine was created by the same devs as firewater so don't count on an updated firewater to fix this for you. Also sunshine costs 25 dollars, just a little fyi. Good luck with S-OFF!

Many Thanks

So this thread implies that Sunshine is proven to work on a phone with 3.18 hboot and obviously taken an OTA? I'd heard somewhere that wasn't confirmed yet.

It doesn't imply. But as it check if it's really gonna work and firewater definitely doesn't it's the best try you got.
By the way. You just have to pay if it is gonna work and all checks the tool runs are positive.
Hit "Thanks"if I was of any help.

Firewater won't work. It requires an online server component, that was taken offline 4 years ago.
If you want s-off, you need to pay for sunshine.
But s-off is only needed for limited things (changing CID/MID, manually flashing hboot, radio, etc.). S-off is not needed to root or flash custom ROMs.
Make sure you actually need s-off, before you waste too much time trying to s-off!

Are you trying to get LTE? Just flashing firmware, may not accomplish that. Again, just trying to make sure you don't spend money on sunshine s-off, for no good reason.
Also, you should tread carefully, as flashing the wrong firmware to certain M8 versions can brick the phone.
If you want us to take a closer look, do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Also, tell us which 3G and LTE bands your local carrier uses.

How to unlock HTC Desire HD?

Hy, is there any 100% way to unlock this phone?
Yes. But you need to meet a certain prerequisite.
i.e,
HTC Firmware <= 2.37
Try this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
Read first post and Q&A in the second post, there are links to downgrading your rom and tools for rooting.
Alternatively you can try this AllInOne tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037315.

Yes, but only part of unlocking. Not all of it. First you need downgrade, then Radio S-OFF, and finally Eng S-OFF.
Thank you. Is there a tutorials for downgrade?
I have Android version 2.3.3, Basebamd version 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26_m and Kernel version 2.6.32.39-cyanogenmod-g99f1050.
Is there a code for simlock check? Like Galaxy Ace.. *#7465625#
I see that my phone is already S-OFF (ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF)
Android version 2.3.3, Basebamd version 12.28b.60.140eP_26.03.02.26_m and Kernel version 2.6.32.39-cyanogenmod-g99f1050, BUILD GRI40
I tried this tool:

First i got this:

Okay, please do check again the steps provided. You may have missed something. Do you have reapplied temp and permroot using visionary? Most people forgot that rooting is required again after flashing stock 1.32. 2nd, check the radio s-off status, cid state, pc software requirement and other stated in the radio s-off guide. Btw, what's your current radio?

hi,
yes of course you can try for remote unlocking method either through the network provider or 3rd parties such as Theunlockarena.com/htc-desire-hd/rs13wp9/ to unlock your HTC desire HD.its simple process.they'll do unlock remotely and after that give you instructions to follow.you just need to do is give your model, network,IMEI number to them that's all..
yes i also followed the same procedure n got everything right.... First radio s - off then Eng off and also the super CID but for some reason i still cant use other networks.... any ideas what i am doing wrong... or any suggestions.. thnx. or any other method of unlocking the sim,,

Do global HTC One X's come with S-OFF?

I have owned an HTC Incredible and an HTC Rezound in the past, and I'm fairly certain they came with S-ON. (I have also owned about every Samsung phone in existence, its just my HTC expertise is limited).
Well, I didn't want the AT&T version of the HTC because I really like the Tegra3. So I got a Global Unlocked HTC One X. Great phone...but when I went to do the whole unlocking & rooting business I found this:

Is this normal? Someone on reddit told me to post here asking, as I might get a better response.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: If anyone is wondering, the only thing I have done is fastboot oem unlock, fastboot CWM install, and then SuperSU flash via CWM. I'm still running stock ROM.

Well before it was LOCKED and S-OFF. And I don't think I could have pushed a fastboot CWM in that locked state?
Now its Unlocked and S-OFF with a CWM recovery.
Yes you could've pushed it via an ZIP file using HBOOT so you've let HTC know for no reason
EDIT: You didn't go via HTCDev, you just ran 'fastboot oem unlock' and that was it? In which case HTC won't know and you're in a VERY good situation
Where did you buy your phone from? I got mine from Handtec and it's a S-ON

unlock now or wait for s-off?

Hi,
I want to root my device, but I'm a little bit afraid of the "relocked"-problem. Also I need to flash the boot.img manually.
So my question is, if I unlock now and someone figures out, how to s-off, do I still have to flash the boot.img manually with s-off after unlock via htcdev? And does s-off includes the possibility of full-relocking the bootloader and if yes, is this possibility also given, when I would s-off after htcdev?
Thanks,
me113
Just unlock now . It's most probably that HTC One X / X+ won't get S-Off ... It's been discussed for more than half a year and no one's figured it out or should we say unable to S-Off ...

You can still do S-Off after you've unlocked . No disadvantages , only advantages .
Thanks for your advice. But I've read in a thread about a HTC Flyer-Rom:
if you used HTC Unlock and S-OFF'd using that, you ALWAYS need to flash new boot.img manually

I'm a little bit confused now. I thought s-off from stock and s-off after htcdev is the same. So I have to flash the boot.img forever manually, if I unlocked via htcdev?!

Let's clear something up about this, s-off is still impossible for the time being ! Unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone back to factory state but you do NOT have to flash a new boot.img, it works as normal after unlocking the bootloader !
If you flash a custom rom you have to flash the boot.img from that rom with a tool or manually with fastboot commands because we don't have S-OFF !

Yeah, but if someone achieves S-OFF, I don't have to flash it manually any longer?
That's right ! But don't get your hopes up on that, people are trying it already for over 6 months .... my guess it's not going to happen, and i don't mind either because now the phone is almost unbrickable ! And flashing the boot.img manually takes like 20 seconds .....
Ok, great. Thanks for your answer!
Will unlock now. :victory:

Will S-Off and the MSL unlock code allow the phone to be used on another carrier? I'm curious if the sim card, which is now only for lte with the cdma, can be replaced with a sim from a gsm carrier.
This is probably a really dumb question, but does S-off get turned on again when you flash a RUU? Also if you decide to lock it up again, like to get it fixed, would you have to pay for this again? Thanks!
How , Get connect to other Gsm carrier after S-off, On virgin Mobile?
I have the msl unlock code for my phone. So, if I have s-off will it help me use my phone on another carrier. That is can I take my other carrier's sim and put it in the vm lte sim slot and with my unlock code use the phone on the other carrier. I'm trying to figure out if there is any way to do this and does having s-off possibly help this process.

Flashing a RUU will not make you S-ON again. Nothing will, unless you decide to do it yourself, but even then, you can S-OFF again easily, without paying again.
As far as getting a new device, you can probably email the Sunshine lead dev, Justin, and tell him what's going on. He'll probably help you out.

Want to downgrade to 3.38.x to 3.35.617.12 firmware so that I can install Viper?

Hi Everyone,
I have an Australian HTC One M9 with Telstra (carrier). ATM it has Marshmallow installed, and firmware version 3.38.x, but I would like to downgrade the firmware to 'M9_3.35.617.12_FullStock' (International Version). I would like to do this in order to install the Viper ROM. For me Viper ROM is the 'bees knees' (Aussy Slang for F**king GREAT!). I understand that Viper will not run with the firmware that I currently have installed (both through the XDA forums, and from personal experience; developed by attempting to install the ROM). Is the ADB / fastboot method, outlined in the link below, a safe way to proceed?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/firmware-t3068243
FYI - My phone is S-OFF and Rooted...
Any advice or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo
Just tried a couple of firmware..."Patience, you must have patience!"
Ok, so patience is a virtue, but apparently...not so much one of mine! I just tried to flash a couple of the firmwares that I had in mind - unsuccessfully - and below is a screen cap of my results!

Did you change your cid and mid to match the firmware you're trying to flash?
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA Labs
You should change cid to supercid or something that lets you flash the international (European) version aka 3.35.401.12. You can flash whatever you like with this fw without running into issues )
Skickat från min HTC6535LVW via Tapatalk
SuperCID allowed me 'to turn the corner'
Thanks guys, Roobwz in particular; my phone is now SuperCID. I have also successfully flashed 3.35.x firmware ('M9_3.35.401.12_NoWipe_TWRP2871b1.zip'). I made the decision to use the 'htc_fastboot' software rather than 'standard' fastboot. Even though the flashing completed successfully I did have to issue the same command (through htc_fastboot.exe) twice - in between rebooting the phone - please see the screen shot below.
I am now running Viper ROM...but will all the effort be worthwhile?
Glad you figured it out
Skickat från min HTC6535LVW via Tapatalk
Could anyone help me out? I flashed Android Revolution HD on my verizon HTC one M9.
I accidentally did not set my CID or MID to superCID. CID is at VZW__001
Could that be the cause of me not having service anymore? Boots up fine but just no service.
Been lurking reading everything...just can't figure out how to go back as my backup got corrupted somehow. Verizon files seem like the holy grail I've yet to find... Please if anyone knows anything shoot me in the right direction. I never had to do this CID stuff flashing my old HTC Incredible.
Hi coldbloodio,
Phone service was definitely an issue for me, until I performed the SuperCID and then flashed the appropriate firmware. The correct firmware was not possible until I had SuperCID, and without the correct firmware I could not receive any signal using a custom ROM.
Good luck.
Davo
