Customizing the Stock Quickcircle Case Watchfaces - T-Mobile LG G3

So i've made several watchfaces for my Pebble and my Gear, and as soon as i saw the Stock Quick Circle Watchfaces, i knew i wanted to make some. I've downloaded the LG SDK and am working on making my own faces. But for starters i wanted to modify the stock faces in Photoshop. So i thought i would share my progress
1st i had to find where the clocks are stored,
system/priv-app/LGAlarmClock.apk
open LGAlarmClock.apk in 7zip, and navigate to res/raw-xxxhdpi
now pick your stock watchface background that you want to modify.
I chose the black one. And since I'm a Louis Hamilton fan, i chose to drop in the Mercedes Petronas F1 team.

after you replace the stock .PNG file with the modified file. Use ES File Explorer, or any other Rooted file browser that lets you set individual permissions. Drop LGAlarmClock.apk back in sysem/priv-app. Change the permissions for the .apk to from rw-rw-r, to rw-r-r, Reboot.
The Results: (sorry, had to use my ****ty S3 cam)
happy customizing:good:

Any idea if the Quick Circle apk would work on non-LG devices? Love the Rolex Xposed watchface I saw someone made based off of your inspirations, and would like to try it on my HTC One m7.

Great.
Looking forward to customize "raw-xxxhdpi"
Please let me know any design you want to Build I will helip in doing that including hangs and other meters.
Right now I am not rooted(will remain unrooted) will definitely try on mine.
Thanks

[theme] - mixtape - [by kllngtme] - for rc33

okay so here it is, my official release of this theme. it's still in progress but i figured i'd get it out there so people can leave me feedback and see what they want added/changed. The whole thing is based around a hardcore type of theme but I had no idea where to go with it. It's pretty plain for now but it's a nice look. The notification bar is awesome IMO. If there are any icons or things taken from other themes that I still havent updated or changed to make my own, this is a thankyou to all the other themer's out there.
You can't see from the preview but it has a cassette tape as the VM notification.
It should work with anyone who has a JF RC33 mod (I have JF 1.42 rc33). Don't blame me if you brick your phone.
the battery icon is the black flag logo for an FYI (currently in the picture it's reading 80%)

Looks good so far. If your going for the whole music/mixtape theme I would say change the icons to cassette tapes or CDs with the program name written on there. That would look cool.
nice clean and simple...

that's not a bad idea at all. I was trying to figure out ways for different icons but it's tough when you are trying to like match icons with certain themes..
i'll fool around with some ideas based around the whole cassette tape/cd thing. i'll see how it looks on the phone and such.
for the dialer I had records for the numbers and when you clicked or selected a number it would be a broken record but it wasn't looking right when it was setup so i went with standard buttons for the dialer instead.
where did you get the icons? would be nice to be able to use alternate apps.. I use K9SMS and StarContact instead of Messaging and Contacts
I like the black flag logo. Nice work

i made the icons pretty much. either they were done completely by me or i took an image i found off google and then stripped it and or modified it to be my own and work more with this theme.

The messaging icon is the stock icon without the smiley face and instead of using the white already on the stock icon i used a beige color more towards the colors used in the theme.
i use the stock messaging and contacts, you can do whatever you like to make this theme better fit you. this is how my phone looks. as for using alternate apps, sure, use whatever the hell you want.. you can change any app icon you want using bettercut (or you could manually change it in the apk)

[TUT] Transparent Wallpapers for 3VO ROMS

You guys have been asking for it, here it is. Kinda a rough dirty way of doing it but here goes...
This will not be easy to do for newbies or people with no image editing experience. You need some Photoshop or other photo editing understanding and experience to accomplish the desired result. Eventually WM 6.5 Stanard will hopefully start supporting full screen wallpapers and transparent softkeybars or I will write an app the will automatically convert a wallpaper for you but for now...
You will need:
Your wallpaper that you want to convert (320x240)
black_softkeybar.png from \Windows on phone running a 3VO ROM (320x26)
Photoshop or similar photo editing app
The goal here is to cut out the bottom 26 pixels of your wallpaper and paste it to the black_softkeybar.png file. Then crop the wallpaper image to 320x214 top justifying. Your result will be 2 images, wallpaper.png (or .jpg) and black_softkeybar.png (must be .png, same as original filename).
Then, copy black_softkeybar.png back to \Windows on the phone and wallpaper.png to \Application Data\Home. To select it, go to Settings, Home, select wallpaper.png as your wallpaper. In order for the softkeybar image to show up, you have to reboot.
Might take some practice but give it a shot...

Not too different....
Use your explorer to go into the SmartToolKit folder (Program Files/SmartToolKit) and then into the Skins folder (/Skins). In there you will see either one or many folders (or none if you don't have a separate skin installed). If you dont have a skin installed, google it. they are not hard to find... Once you install a skin, you will notice a file called 320x240.skin or something similar...open it with notepad (on your phone or computer) and look where it says "start bar" (commented out) ... there will either be one or more image files listed there...in either case, delete them and drop the blackbar.png file you made into this folder and in place of those other file(s) name(s) put in that one. Restart STK and you should be fine.
EDIT: If you want a cleaner way of doing this, also notice in that same 320x240 file there one for the start icon (1 for activated, 1 for non-activated)...you should remake those files to match the skin you are using on your homescreen if not, you will have your tranparent skin, and on the Start button area you'll have something totally different...
Here are a few:
Calling all programmers!
Also, I'm not a programmer but if anyone wants to take a shot a writing an app that can take a 320x240 wallpaper and cut it up into the two files to automatically create these themes, by all means!!! Go for it!
The mscr file I wrote in the Transparent Wallpaper pack CAB on the first post of this thread contains the registry settings and file locations for it to work right....
Anyone up for the challenge??
i think i made a mistake!?!?
can i have the original black_softkeybar.png file,
i think you know what i did.
I think you'll like this one, WM 7 style, though it's not transparent^^
BTW I also have the correct bronzeres.dll if you want the panels to look like WM7!
Sports Themes
Would be cool if we started sports theme ones. Like football, basketball, hockey and baseball.

So this is it's own application, not an xbmc skin or something?
It would be cool if it was a Media Center 7 Skin! Of course, most would probably want something for Myth or XBMC.

It comes with the theme. But you have to download a software first to change the Start Orb (just google "Windows 7 start orb changer") & point the software to the bitmap in the zip from fediafedia
Have you try to set an other mail account than Gmail ? I don't understand how to modify the setup file to use my hotmail account.
Hmm... I must be really stupid... the 'Fail safe' installation failed for me.
I'm on Windows 7 32 bit.
I installed and ran Rainmeter, then exited.
I made sure Rainmeter\Skins folder is located in Documents.
Copied Omnimo UI\Data\Skins\WP7 to Documents\Rainmeter\Skins, and copied the Data\Themes\Omnimo folder to APPDATA\Rainmeter\Themes.
I launched Rainmeter, and the Omnimo theme is not in the list of themes, though WP7 exists in the Configs.
Any help would be appreciated, as the theme looks lush and I'd like to have a play
How to install the theme
It's much easier than the copying an pasting of files.
Since you already installed Rainmeter, you're good at this point, but if you wanna start fresh, these are the steps that I followed:
1. Download Rainmeter 1.1 from here: http://rainmeter.net/RainCMS/
in your OS version (32-bit or 64-bit)
2. Install it
3. Run it once
4. Download Omnimo UI from here: http://fediafedia.deviantart.com/art/Omnimo-UI-1-01-for-Rainmeter-158707137
5. Extract the files, open up the extracted folder, and run the Rainstaller exe
6. Select the WP7 theme in Rainmeter
7. Done.
Also, if anyone needs any help setting up icons for their programs in the WP7 programs panel, which is called the launcher in the configuration, pm me and I can guide you on how to make your own program icons and, or, I can make them for you and send them to you. so far, i was able to make the mixcraft icon and bittorrent icon seen in my screenshot. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the mail icon with hotmail like Misutsu is also working on. Cheers everyone!
How do you manage the STEAM and ZUNE modules? THX
how can i set an other e-mail account like hotmail?
this rainmeter is really cool!
but i have some issues on customizing it...
how to add simple shortcut in other "wp7" boxes (or how to create new boxes) (i'd like to make some custom shortcuts to XBMC, GAMES folder, APPS folder, MYPC and NETWORK resources, etcetera)

[MOD] Gingerbread Horizontal Battery with 1% increment KE7

I've always used this mod in SGS1. I like it better than the vertical one because the numbers are better spread out and not so squishy.
Anyway here's my mod of Rawat's battery mod. The gfx were from old sgs1 framework and I really forgot where I got it from. Thanks to whoever who did the gfx. Thanks also to Rawat for the initial framework-res.apk.
I really only did the cut&paste and some testing, so I take no credit for this.
Hope someone finds it useful
Sorry I've been up too long doing this mod, it's time to zzz, so I can't write a detail installation instructions. But Chalid has made another similar mod (vertical battery) and has kindly put up some very detailed instructions there. Thanks! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091177
Note: This is for KE7 firmware only, not tested with other versions.
edit: ok, seems fixed, so i've added back the attachment. refer post 5.
Installed on KE7..... However:
As expected it wipes all accounts on the phone (such as google/facebook etc.), but everytime I go into settings, accounts and sync to re-add them the whole phone freezes. As in as soon as I hit "accounts and sync" everything crashes, then goes black with only the the top of the display (I forget what you call it, with the phone signal, battery indicator etx. visable.
Then it comes back to life, but I have to restart luncher pro. Have to switch off wireless, and back on again otherwise it doesn't work either.
Also happens if I try and add any new account via contacts, or gmail.
Reverting back to original framework-res.apk cures the crashing problem. But then it's back to stock battery indicator =(
you are right. i didn't notice this coz when i replaced mine, it didn't wipe out any account, no i didn't go into settings.
ok, removed attachment for now and see if i can redo it. sorry for any inconveniences.
Shame. I liked it better than the vertical one.
Would deffo have used it. I'll keep an eye out to see if you repost it, and try again.

well ok, but i am not well versed in android hacking, so it's kind of a learning process for me too
i've re-done the framework-res, tested it for a day and seems to be fine now. here it is if you want to try it again.
The Account wiping can happen if you don't set the permissions right. Copy the framework-res.apk to /system first, change permissions to rw-r-r (644) and then move the file to /system/framework
Is it working? This looks sweet

Are you sure its from the One X? Maybe the messaging apk can be pulled. I'm trying to find these images myself.
Doubt that the HTC MMS app would work without the sense framework. Found some themes for the older Galaxy Nexus touchwiz MMS and one looks nearly identical to this one but it doesn't work. I'm all for theming the touchwiz MMS as I love the lock screen notifications and am not a fan of any of the aftermarket MMS apps.
Here's Something I've been tinkering around with an am currently using. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the blue from the HTC theme better aligned on the left side so if anyone can assist I'd greatly appreciate it. Anyway, these are all in a modified SecMms.apk which I'll upload if anyone's interested. I also added that white background as a choice.
P.S. Please be aware that this is a rough hack so maybe someone could help me clean up the file a little. I'm just an intermediate modder who just like to see modest theme options.
Extra Note: I had to rar the file in order to upload it due to the forum size limits for uploads. Just extract the apk.
Upload your SecMms.apk and I'll decode it and see if I can help correct the alignment.

Okay, here's what I'm thinking. You have a message_skin_bubble.xml and message_bubble_activity.xml under res/layout/. I'm not real familiar with Android system layout, but I would think one of these two, or both would control text layout in the bubble. There's a line in message_bubble_activity: "gallery_receive_vertical" android: paddingLeft="10.0dip"", try changing 10.0dip to... say, 12.0? And if that isn't it, try in message_skin_bubble, change "android:layout_marginLeft="9.0dip" />" to say 11.0dip?
I'm going on a limb from just glancing at it and not really sure if that's the controlling xmls. I'm having trouble rebuilding the apk or I'd test it myself. I'll see what I can do when I get home.
Sounds good. Although, so far, I only changed the images by opening the .apk. I didn't decompile or recompile. I simply took images from other devices that I've owned or found on xda and swapped and renamed image files. They worked on all of them except for the blue htc bubble in the first image.

Well thinking more about it, if my suggestion did skew the text, which it may or may not, it will also skew the text in every bubble which we don't want... perhaps I can edit the original blue bubble image to allow the text to center.
That would be great. I tried doing it in Photoshop. I no PS expert but I'm ok so maybe there is something I'm missing. The png file would look fine and would save ok but the image would become stretched in the actual mms app.
is there anyway to add emoji support to it?
