Do you have the correct APN setup? (Access Point Name)
It is the login and password info that comes with your phone/sim to connect to your carrier's data/internet.
APN Backup & Restore is a program you can use to save the original one (to a .xml file) to your SD Card. Then as soon as you flash a new rom - you restore the original APN. Then data connection should be the same.
(I don't know so much about radios.)
Hi everyone,
Since some days i got a problem. Suddenly out of nothing there were folders and files missing on my sdcard.
I rebooted and voila they were back but others were missing ... This goes on and on.
Removing the sdcard dosent change a thing about it. I had the problem before but thought it would be connected to not removing the phone safely from the PC. I reinstalled NXT MOD (without flashing the 2.6.32.9 Firmware again but with clearing dalvik cache and stuff) and afterwards only connected it via wifi to trandfer data.
So yeah. What should I do ? Ever experienced something like that ?

It seems theres a select few t889s that have a semi broken wifi radio or bugged drivers I am not sure. Only the official based touchwhiz roms will work and I have finally found a fix that enables you to use 4.3 and all of that AOSP goodness.
Symptoms: Wifi stuck at Obtaining IP, Authenticating. Static IP seems like a quick fix but even that is unreliable. It did not work for me 90% of the time and countless reboots turning on all the radios such as bluetooth, wifi, nfc, airplane mode in hopes that it finally connects to your router.
Tools: Root explorer, a copy of /etc/wifi/ and /etc/dhcpd/ from a working rom such as 4.1.1/2 touchwhiz
1. copy your working wifi and dhcpd folders to your external sdcard
2. install your rom of choice, I have only tested this with AOKP nightlies
3. expect your wifi to hang which is normal for a fresh install.
4. install and open root explorer, rename your /etc/wifi and dhcp folders as wifi-backup and dhcp-backup
5. copy your 4.1.1 wifi and dhcp folders over to your system and make sure the permissions chmodded 777 for both directories and files.
6. reboot and enjoy!
Do you think this would work with Skynote for our device?
This fix has been haunting me for many devices... I think I'm going to bust out a few old phones with the issue and see if I can't get the WiFi working (without rrseting the WIFI) ... Lol figured it was internal phone issues as friends and family phone/devices didn't have any issues connecting yet mine would require a router power plug pull just to connect automatically

I use Es file explorer on daily basis, and it's worked perfectly until I upgraded to Android 4.4.4. When I tried to copy file from phone to win pc shared folder (like I done many many times before), it starts for a couple of seconds and then stop, say "time left: computing..." and after that "task failed". I tried everything, reinstalling app, flashing rom again (Viper 3.0.1), flashing firmware again because I know that wifi won't work without new firmware (wifi working properly), but i flashed again just in case. Then I tried another rom (ARHD) and it is the same. Then I revert back to Android 4.4.3 (Viper 2.5.0), and it worked again! Then I tried dirty-flash Viper 3.0.1 and it don't working anymore... I tried also Go file master, but it won't work ether.
So I think it is problem with android 4.4.4, because I tried two different apps with two different 4.4.4 roms and result is the same.
Can anyone who is on android 4.4.4 try to send some file, let's say around 100-200mb, with Es and see if it works? Thanks!
Program is free and on Play Store.

Hello, as an ES File Explorer user, I would like to help you solve your issue. Have you tried using your administrator's logon credentials? You're supposed to type them into the fields as you add your computer (in LAN tab).
Also, you should know that if your IP address to your computer is re-assigned, the connection will be broken, as the IP you originally typed in will no longer work. Maybe in 4.4.3 the IP was the way you wanted it. Try to make it right this time. I will try to recreate your issue on my phone (running 4.4.4 as well) and get back to you.

Thanks for trying to help.
Like I sad, tried everything, and I'm very familiar about ip. First, I totally uninstall es, reboot the phone, install es again from market. There is no assigned lan computers jet. Then, in lan tab, click on scan, and ip address of my computer are showed. When I click on it I can see shared files and folders on my computer, and I can access them. So connection is fine. When I tried to copy large file, 100-200 MB, it starts for couple of seconds and transfer couple of MB, then stop and sad task failed.
Interesting thing is that when I tried to copy FROM pc TO phone, it works without issues and I can transfer large files without any problem. So the problem is copying from phone to pc.
I tried this on three different places, it means 3 different routers, 3 different pcs, 3 different operation systems (XP, WIN7, WIN8.1), and the problem is there.
Like you can see in my first post, I tried to re-flash firmware and rom again, tried different rom, but could not solve the problem. Only when I revert back to android 4.4.3, everything worked again, but again on 4.4..4 not working like described.
Can you try to copy some large file from phone to pc (like one episode of some series) and tell if it working for you? Thanks.
Have you tried contacting the app developer? Its possible the app just hasn't been updated to be compatible with 4.4.4.
ES is a great app. Its been my go-to file explorer for some time now (although I don't use the particular function you are having a problem with). Hope you get the issue sorted out.
No, I haven't, but yes, that could be the problem. But I tried one or two similar apps and have the same problem...
Anyway, I currently using Sambadroid for transferring files and it's working, but like es better and hope it will work like it should in next version.
In Sambadroid I access files on the phone from pc explorer...
So, I tried 2-3 sense roms and the problem is there, but today I installed aosp rom to try it, and ES works without any problems. Strange...
Hello guys!
I've recently ran into a problem, where whenever I try to download anything from the internet using a browser, the download starts, but immediately gets paused and I'm not able to resume the download.
The download shows up in the Download Manager, but I'm not able to restart it from there.
The issue came of after installing the leaked Open Beta 9 few weeks ago, and present since. Currently I'm using FreedomOS 2.1, but before that, I was on Open Beta 9, first on the leaked one, then on the official one.
I've been through multiple full wipes, full flashes, the problem keeps sticking.
Tried to download with other browsers, Chrome Dev, Chrome Canary, Firefox, Dolphin, even tried using multiple Download Managers, none of them solved my problem.
Also tried clearing the cache of the Download Manager system app, resetting permissions for each app, tinker with Data Saver settings, without any luck whatsoever.
Please, if anybody has any possible solutions, suggestions, or anything regarding this problem, help me solve this.
Thank you!
Solution:
Somehow, I managed to find a solution.
When I wiped my entire phone storage, including the internal one while installing open beta 9, I made the Download folder manually to put the flashable files in. This was the problem, after renaming the folder, the OS created a new one and now all of my downloads are working correctly.
