Hey guys,
I am having a hard time figuring out what keeps my device awake.
I am rooted, removed most of the bloatware. Sync is always on, as a instant messager i am using kontalk.
As you can see on the screenshot, my DOT is 3h40min but the awake time is !7h37min!. I really cant figure out what is causing this issue. Does anybody know what these xxxx.sensors.qcom wakelocks mean?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

which version are you on try the german 10E version
settings>about device>sofrtware info>software version
Getting sensor wakelocks on mine too. Have a d850pr
BBS doesn't report right on this handset. Use another wake lock detector.
Factory reset tends to fix 99% of issues rather than simply just "reflashing or updating firmware"

Important info about BBS, thanks. Wanted to avoid factory reset. I guess ill go with freezing one app after another if ota does nit help.

Try disable smart bulletin and freeze lg health. It uses the sensor a lot.
I removed nearly all LG stuff so it can't be caused by that. Since i am using wakelock detector instead of BBS, the wakelock counter figures are better.

The same situation. Some background evil drains the battery and those sensors... oh, those sensors!!...
What could drive them?

I'm running the latest version of Ultimatum by howtomen. I just got my gorilla gadgets extended battery and I've gotten over 40 hours. The phone has been through two nights and has only been in deep sleep for 4.5 hours. I'm showing a power service manager wake lock and can't find anything about it in search. Any help would be appreciated.

What are you using to examine wake locks?
PowerManagerService corresponds to anything and everything that generates a partial wakelock, so if you have a list of those, that's where to look.

That's a common wake lock with the stock gallery trying to sync with Picasa. I froze Picasa with titanium backup and it never happened again.

I am seeing the same thing. That process kept my phone "awake" for two hours while the screen was off. Which app/process did you freeze to fix this? Was is "PicasaUploader" ?
If you just disable Picasa album syncing in your Settings|Accounts|Google|<account_name> will that have the same affect?

I actually started with disabling the Picasa synchronization on my Google accounts and that seems to have stopped the problem. I think the issue actually came from the fact that one of the accounts I have got stuck while trying to synchronize with Picasa. Since its account that I don't actually upload photos to, it didn't matter anyway if I disabled the synchronization.
Now my phone shows that it goes into a deep sleep for more than 2/3 of the time that the screen is off. That is a lot better than being awake 100 percent of the time.

I used Settings|Accounts|Google|<account_name> . I actually disabled uploading from all 5 google accounts I have on my phone because I use dropbox to synch my photos back to my pc.
See attached screenshot. And yes, it was -2 F this morning when I took the screenshot.....
turn off picasa
blog.gadgethelpline.com/remove-unwanted-picasa-albums-samsung-galaxy-siii/
picasa sync was using 87% of my battery, followed these instructions to turn it off and remove photos.
I deleted mine with TB just to be safe.
Anyone else notice a worsened battery after the update? And is there anyway to get dolby back while watching videos?

Have you rooted and unlocked?

Do you have Google Now active? I bet that is where the drain is coming from. Im seeing the same thing.
No I haven't rooted yet and I don't plan on unlocking and yes I have it active I don't want to turn it off though guess I'll have to suffer the consequence

Rooting and unlocking is huge if you want battery improvements. Removing apps such as google+ will help with battery drain and the ROMs we have out now also have scripts and other battery enhancements.

My battery seems to have gone down to. I might do a factory reset to try and fix it. That helped before. Also. If you look at my attached pic, your notice "peaks" in the graph. No I am not plugging into anything and yet I gain a percent here and there during the day. Anyone get this?
Also, with that pic, I don't have the bars under it showing screen on, awake times, WiFi on, charging or signal. How can I get these back? They are very useful pieces of info.
Sorry didn't mean to take over a thread. This seemed like a logical thread to post with.

Once you're rooted AND unlocked. You can't uninstall system apps until unlocked or you'll get a security error.

I have seen those peaks. The other day I restarted and the percentage in my notification bar changed by 3% immediately after the reboot. That said, I easily got 12 hours over the weekend on a single charge with decent usage.

In maps, you can go into settings/locations, and uncheck all that stuff that lets google monitor your location while you're phone sleeps, this resolved my maps wake lock issue, not sure about the SMS one.

Tap the little orange icon to the right. It will take you to the browser and explain what power manager is. It's likely due to push notifications. You can check what's doing this under partial wakelocks.

Do you have active monitoring enabled in better battery stats? When I had that turned on, that was giving me the most wakelocks due to power manager service.

How ironic would it be if Better Battery Stats was the cause of worse battery life lol... but anyways I did what Luigi suggested and got this:

BBS doesn't consume much battery at all compared to others, unless of course if you have the app actively monitoring but the option should be Unchecked by default.
Also, as the page to the link states, in order to resolve any of the wakelocks causing the PowerManagerService issue you must "Use "Partial Wakelocks" to drill down the applications / services causing wakelocks".

I get this, i'm still trying to see what's causing it but i've found 2 things:
- It stops when i'm not connected to wifi
- Its a known kitkat bug
Hope somebody can tell me what os process is calling this process but you'll get a lot of discussions if you google sensors.qcom drain.

Yeah I did Google and did see quite a few discussions on it. I have been through many phones and this is the first one that has a major flaw in regards to wake lock. I reduced the wake locks by disabling Google Now but I use that daily and can't love without it. I don't know what to do at this point.

there is something weird going on with the battery after updating to .283 . i tried to investigate this with the help of wakelock detector and apperars myxperia and update center are eating up lot of battery. froze them and so far so good.
Froze those as well and still massive battery drain. Checked the battery usage and it seems the OS is the culprit. Any suggestions?

Download BetterBatteryStats (there's a free version on XDA)
You can get a decent amount of information regarding wakelocks, partial wakelocks, alarms, etc..
There's also the possibility that your battery could by dying, if you want to know for sure either use something like BBS or reflash/reset to factory.
