Is it a 3.0 drive? Did you try a different cable or drive?

Heard something about, being able to plug the phone into something like a portable hard drive USB storage, on official jelly bean. Is this true?

There's no USB Mass Storage on the Galaxy Nexus. It doesn't have an SDcard or partitioned storage to mount. You have to transfer by MTP or PTP, or over WiFi with an FTP app.
I meant plugging in an external hard drive into the micro usb

i've never tried a hard drive but a pendrive was working since ICS...
Really, what app do I download to use that?

You're looking for USB On The Go (OTG). It was there in ICS too...

if you have a USB OTG cable, you can attach a flash drive, a camera, or an external hard drive to your phone and it can detect them as USB drives.

Yesterday, i bought an old Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.2.1 and today, i plan to root it. But, unfortunately the computer didn't detect it. In the gnex itself didn't show notification about usb connection. I have tried to change the usb cable but it didn't work ! Please help
And a diffrent port, computer or os?

Ueah, different port, ubuntu, windows xp and 7, my netbook and my pc. All didnt work! Maybe the gnex usb port is broken ? But it still can charge

And if you try a diffrent mobile or tablet with the same cable(s) and ports, operating systems and computers?

Yes, I try to connect my nexus 7 3g without any problem. It works very fine. I also try my friends nexus s and it works fine too

I had the same issue. Fixed by cleaning charging port. Use something small, not too hard or abrasive and gently.
What do you use to clean the USB port ?

Does it give an error? Or it just simply doesn't show any notification that a device has been connected? If there are no error messages, then try to boot into recovery or odin mode and connect to PC. If still nothing, then its more like a hardware failure and you should send it back to repair.
Thanks for the help. But,unfortunately it still didn't work. I will send back to repair

Yes
My cable must be bad. Thx

It might not be a bad cable. The Tab Pro doesn't provide much OTG power, so you may need a Y to a real USB just for power.
