Hey guys,
I am wondering if anyone knows how to get a hold of the Australian firmware and flash the 32GB/3GB AU Firmware onto my phone? I imported one from Taiwan but it's currently running the Taiwan firmware. Not sure if there's any difference between the two but I'd feel better if my phone was running an actual Australian firmware that I can update properly, rather than an international firmware that I've had to make look like it's Australian, I'm even a few versions behind for some reason, and sometimes when I reboot it's back to Taiwanese...
My carrier is Telstra AU, I've got the 32GB/3GB Gold version. Not looking to root, running everything stock except the launcher (Using Nova Launcher) and all seems fine. I've installed LG PC Suite, I'm really just looking to backup my current firmware/kdz and flash a new Australian one.
Thanks in advance guys, looking forward to being a part of this epic community!
Hey mate! What's your model number? Is it the D855? It's funny, I imported mine simply because I didn't want the Ausy version of the phone. The only changes from the D855 and the Ausy version (model number which is D855K) is a few reception changes, and I'm not sure if they are hardware or software. I did a quick google, and I found this link, but I'm not sure how trustworthy it is, I'd be wary and scan anything with virus protection before. But here ya go. http://poweredw.gaodi.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=667560
There isn't much for us Ausys out there, which is why if you want to have a bit of support from XDA and other places, best stick with the inernational version.
Have a good one mate.

Hey mate,
Yeah, it's the D855, imported from Taiwan. The link you sent me to is a 16GB/2GB ROM, those of which are apparently everywhere, but I can't for the life of me find a 32GB/3GB ROM for us Aussies. I did import the D855 because it's the international one, which should be modded and tinkered with by more people because it's international, rather than just the D855k which only works for us Aussies.
But yeah, if you find a 32GB/3GB ROM for Telstra somewhere, would be MUCH appreciated, sick of my phone going back to Taiwanese every reboot
Thanks man!

LG didnt release the 32GB version in Australia, so you will never find a Telstra firmware for it... or Optus or Voda for that matter.
It shouldnt make any difference anyway as long as it has the same LTE bands, which I think it does.
Try an EU firmware that defaults to English maybe?

Ah okay, cheers man. Know of the latest EU/International firmware that would best suit me, preferably the latest version?

i cant honestly tell whether they are 16GB or 32GB, since some of them dont specify. As far as I am aware, if you update to an old UK or EU version (like 10A) you will get an OTA update to 10E pretty soon afterwards.
if you arent sure which one to flash, theres probably someone that is worried about the same thing in the comments of the thread somewhere that had their question answered. i havent read through the whole thing yet so sorry cant help you there.
good luck!

well its a personal web hosting... hosting sites always change for whatever reason. i would get it now while its there, cos who knows whether it will be there tomorrow. dont know whether the owner will keep it up to date regularly, but you can always read the forums to see when new updates come out.
the unbranded EU firmware is a popular one and will probably be one of the most frequently updated, so once you are on that you can probably get the OTAs as they come out too.

Sorry to ask this like a month later, but I had a similar question as the OP. Why wouldn't it be possible if I only wanted to use my phone in Europe on the GSM bands? I've been using it with a ROM for the international phones and it works fine. But I was also wondering if I could flash the newest firmware and 4.4.3 upgrade to use some of the newer ROMs for the international versions, like ARHD 10.2.

HI! Can you give me more details? I've just received the verizon variant (bought from an online store) in Europe.. I would like to "convert" it to international version so I could get official updates from HTC via OTA. IS that possible?

I don't think you can convert it over to the international edition, although I could be wrong, since some of the partitions, firmware, and actual hardware (like the CDMA receiver) are different. Given how buggy just some of the ROMs are with the int'l kernel built in, I would be worried about bricking the phone trying to actually convert it to be able to receive OTAs.
What you can do check out some of the ROMs that let you pick which variant to install. After you boot that up once, you'll probably need to reflash the stock VZW kernel (or read around and see if Verizon users got other kernels to work with the ROM). It's kind of trial and error. A lot of times I ended up without wifi or service until I found a kernel that worked.
For updates, (this part sucks) you'll have to wait for the Verizon phones to receive them in the US. Someone usually makes a set a files you can flash since we can't get the OTAs for VZW here and a lot of people don't want to go through the hassle of going back to close to stock to get them. Make a backup, flash those, and go on your way!
But, you'll have to follow the updates and such for VZW phones and then just use a ROM to make it like an int'l versions.
I've been running the int'l version of Paranoid Android and before that ARHD and it's been fine. I used venom and I think n8 before that but it would only install the VZW version so I had to use ROM Cleaner and take out a lot of crap. The roaming triangles were annoying enough that I gave up on venom even though I like the ROM.

THanks for the reply. I think I will return it back.. I wanted a stock experience (eg: when HTC launch an update I DONT Need to wait for verizon to release an update).
I paid lots of money (~700$) for a contract free phone and got a branded phone (not sim-locked by branded is enough) . What a sh*t situation.

Oh God, I assumed you got a Verizon one because it was cheap. I picked mine up in the US for $150 so I don't care so much about having to wait since I saved so much money. If you paid full price I would definitely return it and get an int'l one instead!

Nope, the problem is that I wanted the 32 GB version and most of the online shops had only the 16 GB one. Maybe there is no international 32gb htc one m8..
PS: the retailer's product page (cel.ro) doesn't say anything regarding branding, even the photos are of a htc one m8 unbranded phone.
I am a bit late here. Can i flash a European custom rom on verizon M8? I want to completely get rid of verizon bloatware/services . If yes then while installing custom rom in aroma can i select WWE instead of verizon?? Summary of my question is can i use a WWE European custom rom on version M8??

You should only use custom ROMs that specifically support the Verizon variant. If the option is given in AROMA for carrier version (and VZN is one of those), its got nothing to do with what carrier/region you are located in, but refers to the version M8 you have, which is still Verizon. But you should check the specific ROM thread for details, comments by VZN version users, etc. as devs don't always setup AROMA the same way.
This thread is really old (almost 2 years) and we know a lot more now. FYI, I know its not what you specifically asked, but the topic of the thread is converting to Euro version by flashing firmware, RUU etc. And quite simply and frankly, do not attempt to flash Euro firmware, RUU, or change the CID/MID to do so. Flashing Euro firmware on the VZN variant will result in a radio brick, and the damage may be permanent!
Ee in the UK is notorious for not giving software updates. And this is concerning especially with Android L on its way soon! Anyone have any experience dealing with them at all?

Hi all,
I just receieved my new LG G3 from Vodafone Australia. It's currently charging but upon inspection it has a model number which I hadn't noticed when I was researching the phone (LG-D855V).
I've attached pictures of the box, manual screens from the phone referencing the model number. Does anybody know what the difference is etc?
I'd say the V is just for Vodafone. You should DEFINITELY get to flashing a newer rom or doing an OTA update asap. That's the base rom for the phone, v10a. The latest 4.4.2 version is V10L I think. Alternatively, you can go to Android L. There's a dedicated LG G3 Australian Owners thread in the general section if you need help from any of us

Ah makes sense I guess. I've checked the hardware and it all seems identical to the D855. I came from a Nexus 5 with L and I'm already missing it so I'll definitely be looking to get an L rom on there.

815 are "international" version. Yours specifically I could not say. This is the spec sheet from PDADB for that model, but according to that it has a link to Telcel. Telcel is Mexico..

Thank you for the info, it's weird to think that it's Mexico as I am in South Africa. Will have to see once we have root etc what I will need to do and use but thanks for the info. Been weird as my G2 was the D802 international variant. But now I can't find much about the 815P model.

LG-815P is for LATAM, South Africa versions, check it out here: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g4-6901.php
What parts are you looking for 815P, at most of times, parts of different variants in the same model are interchangeable, except for frame, housing and loudspeaker assembly.

Yes there are 2 different things.
1) For the H815P you MUST flash a H815P ROM in order to not brick it. If you flash a H815N, H815TR, etc... your phone will be in an infinite boot loop best case scenario. Not really sure what happens if you flash a different ROM. It may not even boot.
2) When you root, you need to flash a system image that has root injected. Basically a hacked official ROM with the root installed on it. This system image works for every H815 version, so you dont have to worry about which variant you are on as long as it says H815 and matches your current ROM version.
Hope I made myself clear. If not, feel free to ask :fingers-crossed:
I thought 815p was pacific or puerto rico

International, as in wwe..... also known as world wide English
Does it also work the other way around? The reason is, I have a International HTC 10 from Germany. I cannot really use it in the USA. People calling me get directly to my mailbox. I have to try several times to call them and the internet does not always work although I have a good 4G connection.
Do you think flashing a US or T-Mobile firmware would help?
