Anyone recommend where I can find 2560x1600 wallpapers in portrait mode? Easy to find in landscape, but that doesn't fully make use of the 8.4 resolution (since its cropped). If I use a landscape image, whats the minimum resolution image I need to maintain a 2560x1600 cropped image? So far the link below are the only photos I found in portrait 2560x1600:

I tried Chainfires 500 Firepaper app, but gave up. It doesn't let me save the images since the photos don't belong to him/his app (barrowed from 500PX).
try 4walled don't know the exact resolution you should go for, though.
edit: try 2560 x 3200

Maybe someone can make a similar mod that is specific to the SGS2, A gallery that shows higher resolution images, allows more detail in zoom and gives an over all better+sharper image
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=752007
Not sure if this applies to our SGS2 - I can easily view my Canon 5D and 7D images with no lag - they are 19mp and 21mp images respectfully. When I zoom in, I see just as much detail as when I zoom in on my windows PC....
The auto sharpening already makes all the images pretty crisp on the screen. Not sure why u need anything else - SGS2 Screen resolution = 800x480 my pix with DSLR are 5000x3000 so, kinda no point no?
Anywho, I could be wrong, but I think this mod is not needed.
(Unless it effects the TV-HDMI out?
Looking at the same picture and having the high res gallery mod on the SGS1, it goves more detail in both zoomed and standard view, the andriod gallery limits the resolution on the images, has nothing to do with the screen at 480x800.
Looking at a 5000x3000 image on the PC gives better zoom detail than on the phone.
I'd like to display some 1920 wide test images such that the pixels map 1:1, how is that possible?

I was having this issue too opening Chrome, searching for 1200x1920 images, then opening the original image but it would never show up 1:1 nor even save as 1:1
Maybe there's a better/easier way but after some brief searching I tried the first app I could find called Perfect Viewer. After playing around a bit I got it to display an image and I found that when you zoom in it will show the scale percentage and snap at 100% to allow 1:1 display. I used it for a gamma test image and it worked fine.

Thanks that worked , bit of a strange app, but for testing 1:1 mapping great solution.
I am developing an application that contains stock wallpapers of almost all Android smartphones brands.
The problem is that i can't deal with the resolution of images. Let's take an example: i have an image with dimensions 1920x1280
I know that the best image resolution for an Android home screen wallpaper is 2x of screen width (for example width of s2 is 480x2=960px) and exactly same height (for example s2 height is 800px) so the right wallpaper size for galaxy s2 (with screen resolution 480x800px) will be 960x800px. But on the market there are plenty of smartphones as well as different screen resolutions.
I am asking if is there any "universal" resolution (i know that this does not exist but at least approximately) for the wallpaper so that to fit on most of screen resolutions ? If there is not this means that i have to crop every wallpaper and resize to the right resolution for most of smart phones screen ?
Any suggest will help me, please give me something like referent, any other app, or any Java code so i can put into my app.
Thanks
I've tried 2560x1600 and 1600x2560 wallpapers but they look off if I tilt the tablet to portrait or landscape.
So, what resolution should I use?
2560x2560 The wallpaper app shifts to keep the image oriented properly that's why it clips off when switching orientation. When I started off with a larger image I was able to choose a "+" shaped section so it would fill the background at full resolution in both orientations.

Thank you.
I still couldn't find an ideal wallpaper. Even 4K ones are short on horizontal pixels.

Is there a way to automatically switch to super resolution mode when zooming? I mean, just like taking a high resolution photo and crop it.Digital zoom on normal photo is terrible.
