[Q] Camera Firmware Lost - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi:
I recently unbricked my phone as it was on a continuous boot loop.
Did a full wipe and installed a custom ROM from here. Currently running:
Philz CWM Recovery
And this baby : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2761937
Phone is rooted. Everything is going well until I tried the camera. I now get a "Camera Failed" notification everytime I start the camera.
I opened the camera firmware by dialing *#34971539# and it is showing me an empty firmware selection and a notification "Unfortunately Factory Test has stopped"
Tried other ROMs out there but camera is still dead. Not sure how to restore the camera firmware.
Need some assistance or if someone can point me to the right direction in finding a fix.
I am unable to find anything for a N7105 camera problem thread by doing a search, new to custom modding.

[Q] Back Camera not working with CM

This one has been giving me a headache all day.
Just got a GS3 from Sprint, obviously the first thing I did was throw on a custom recovery and flash Cyanogen. For some reason, no matter what version of Cyanogen I flash, no application can use my back camera. I have wiped all caches, fixed permissions, cleared the gallery cache (as some suggested) with no avail.
Here are the weird things: The front camera works. I can use it in any application, but the back camera always hangs or ends with a "Can't connect to the camera" error. In addition, if I factory default the phone, the camera works fine - so it isn't a hardware issue.
Would love some suggestions on how to proceed!
I really appreciate it!
As a follow up, I tried flashing my cam firmware with the ones found in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006128 out of desperation. It resulted in my camera no longer working - even on the default rom unrooted.
:crying:

[Q] Flashed ROM to 4.3, Nandroid back to 4.1.1, now no camera.

Help, I brokeded my phone trying to use this ROM!
I recently tried to flash the 4.3 Stock MOD ROM to my ATT S3. It wasn't smooth for me so I Nandroided back to 4.1.1. and now my camera does not work and I get an error that says "Cant connect to the Camera" or "Camera failed" depending if I use the Jelly Bean Camera or the Samsung camera.
No fault of the ROM I’m sure but I need help figuring out what I’ve done wrong. I switched back to my Nandroid backup of 4.1.1 Stock because 4.3 was just NO smooth for me. Also I can’t stand regular keyboard, I need my Samsung Note 2 keyboard!
4.3 had a lot of laggy-ness and random crashing. I flashed the Modem, ROM and Kernel in the order with the steps listed per the OP.
When I decided to go back to my backup, I flashed the DLK3 Stock Modem, then flashed back to my backup and wipe the various caches.
Everything about my backup works BUT my camera. I also noticed I can’t use the flashlight option on my 4.1.1 ROM now. Anything related to the camera is broken.
I’ve tried killing and clearing the camera process per several articles I found on Google and here on XDA without luck. Everything suggested it was a hardware issue at that point and to warranty the phone. I deiced to try 4.3 one more time and sure enough, my camera works when flash back to Anroid 4.3 ROM.
I’m stumped.
Any thoughts sort of reinstalling 4.1.1 from scratch?

You have to have the bootloaders for 4.1.1 for the camera to work in 4.1.1. This happened to me a while back with 4.1.2. There's a thread here somewhere where you can download the correct bootloaders and flash with ODIN.
EDIT: Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321310
You need the DLK3 bootloaders (well, that is if you have the AT&T gs3) for the camera to work.

[Q] Unfortunately, camera has stopped responding (4.4.2)

Hi,
I was previously using LiquidSmooth's ROM (Android 4.3). My camera was working fine until one day it started to bug out on me. I am able to use the front camera fine. However, I was unable to use the rear camera, getting a black screen and saying "Gallery has stopped responding". I googled some solutions and tried transferring all my pictures onto my laptop and deleted it off the memory. Unfortunately, it still did not work. I flashed Paranoid Android's 4.4.2 ROM (Dec 26) and GAPPS 4.4.2 (Dec 15) and now the error message I am getting is "Unfortunately, CAMERA has stopped responding" (bold for the difference between previous error). Help please? :fingers-crossed:
Sounds like there may be corrupt firmware was flashed for the camera at some point. I believe, flashing Stock firmware should clear it.
If you had already flashed Stock 4.3 Firmware (UVDUEJ ) then flash that again. If you had UVDMD5 before all this then re-flash that one.

Sorry for the late reply. I used ODIN and flashed the stock firmware. However, opening the camera now just says "Camera failed". Previously, I was able to use the front camera in apps like Snapchat but now the front camera does not work either. Both cameras just display a black screen.

[Q] Camera won't work after going back to stock

Hey All,
I have the ATT S3 variant, and for the longest time I was running a TW based rom that was made from a galaxy note rom and supported multiview.I decided to flash my phone back to LK3 stock and now my camera won't work. Ive tried wiping the cache and doing a factory reset. I've tried the reinstall a couple of times. Out of curiosity, I flashed CM10.2 and the camera worked fine. I Once again tried flashing the stock rom, but the issue still persists. Whenever I open up the camera app I get the error "Camera Failed". I tried typing in the code to get the camera firmware version, but it just shows a black screen. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Camera failed error

Hello,
I need some help with the issue that occurs on N900T. Whenever I try to launch a camera there is just a black screen and then I get an error "Camera Failed". Sometimes it throws another error saying "Server errror occurred. Restart Camera".
This is actually not my phone, my colleague just asked me if I could try to fix it. He wants to buy the phone but not if the camera is not working. The guy my colleague wants to buy the phone from claims that the camera was working fine and it broked after he had updated the phone to the latest version - N900TUVUFOB6.
I have tried to flash some other custom roms, did factory reset many times, also found a thread advising to flash non-hlos file but all to no avail. Now I am back on stock N900TUVUFOB6 rom and still not working. Anyone has any other ideas? Based on what the owner of the phone says, it should not be a hardware fault as it was working prior to software upgrade (or he just lies ).
