I have a question: is it possible to change the color from the font of the time in the statusbar? or somewhere else? I see that in other roms and I want to change it manually. When it's possible, can you post a tutorial-link or something to do change that?
Thanks

hey^^
one of the framework apks? I found one in system\framework\ (framework-res.apk) and I don't find a smali code or something I can see in the apk a folder names "color" but I don't know what I change there :/
To change the color of the clock:
1.Decompile the SystemUI.apk
2.Open res/layout/status_bar.xml
3.Find this line
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.Clock android:textAppearance="@android:style/TextAppearance.StatusBar.Icon" android:gravity="left|center" android:paddingRight="6.0dip" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:singleLine="true" />
4. add
Code:
android:textColor="TEXTCOLOR"
"TEXTCOLOR" being your choice of HEX COLOR CODE (EXAMPLE: #ff49E9BD = Electric Turquoise)
Always put "ff" before the the color code.

You don't sign system apk's. If you sign system apk's the signature's wont match. Just re-compile and move the 'resources.arcs' file and any other xml files you edited out of the "-new" apk and copy them into original apk.

Here's the edited "status_bar.xml" just put it in your original SystemUI.apk.
You are correct, you have to put "FF" or "TT" in front of the color code.
LIKE THIS:
Code:
android:textColor="#ff00ffff"

SGNII JB THEMES ☆ SGSIII JB THEMES ☆ SGSIII ICS THEMES ☆ NEXUS PRIME JB THEME ☆ NEW CENTER CLOCK GUIDE ☆ JB TRANSPARENT STATUSBAR GUIDE
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Hi everyone!
Because it looks like we have practically ready for official release sammy JellyBean seems to me it's time to make our themes better
Here's a simple guide how to make homescreen statusbar transparent:
1. You should decompile SystemUI.apk
2. Open /SystemUI/res/layout/tw_super_status_bar.xml and change android:background to 100% transparent:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.StatusBarWindowView [B]android:background="#[COLOR="Red"]00000000[/COLOR]"[/B] android:focusable="true" android:fitsSystemWindows="true" android:descendantFocusability="afterDescendants"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:systemui="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.android.systemui">
3. Save /SystemUI/res/layout/tw_super_status_bar.xml
4. Open /SystemUI/res/values/drawables.xml and edit this line to get transparency you need, for example, 100% transparent:
Code:
<item type="drawable" name="status_bar_background">[B]#[COLOR="red"]00000000[/COLOR][/B]</item>
5. Save /SystemUI/res/values/drawables.xml
6. Recompile SystemUI.apk
Done... Now you have 100% transparent homescreen statusbar
A short hint:
#00000000 - 100% transparency
#3F000000 - 75% transparency
#7F000000 - 50% transparency
#BF000000 - 25% transparency
If you only need a ready-made statusbar you can find it here - [THEME][JB] 15 Toggle Buttons☆NEW Center Clock☆Transparent Statusbar☆and more
Enjoy! And if you have any questions, you can always ask me
If you like it you can always Rate (★★★★★) this Thread, Press Thanks button or simply buy me a beer! :good: and don't forget about credits

Yes in this case but to be honest it's better on my opinion because it was very ugly on ICS.

You should change background source in tw_status_bar_expanded.xml, it could be android:background="@drawable/new_bg" for example, then add new_bg.png in /SystemUI/res/drawable-xhdpi and recompile SystemUI.apk

OK,
I've decomplied the systemui from cm10 (jellybean) and do not have the tw_super_status_bar.xml file. There is a super_status_bar.xml
There is no /SystemUI/res/values/drawables.xml ...there isn't even the values directory.
What are you guys using to edit these .xml's? I've got like wordpad++ and an actual .xml editor but its still all garbled.
Or is getting a transparent statusbar on CM10 just not happening?
btw I have a USCC S3, I understand this thread is for the international model.
If this solution isn't going to work for me, any where I can look to figure out how to do this?
Thanks everyone for your patience and help.
Am I wrong in saying that CM10 is jellybean?

Yes, there is no tw_super_status_bar.xml in CM10 because it is not sammy based rom. You can try to edit super_status_bar.xml.
Do you quite understand what "decompile" means? You should use apktool to decompile .apk file.

Good day everyone, here I am again with a simple mod or I dunno what to call this one.
Since many user want a fullscreen lockscreen in there ROM, I'll be sharing this, what I did was experimenting a guide and the outcome is a fullscreen lockscreen. LOL I followed this guide to the outcome that my lockscreen will have a transparent statusbar but in the end it gives a fullscreen lockscreen. I cant find a thread like this in every GB based smartphone so I post it if ever I doubled the post kindly shoot me a PM or call the Handsome Admins and moderator to close this thread

basic decompiling skills
Disclaimer:
I/We/XDA are not responsible for the damage cause by this guide. Take a necessary backup before editing when you are in doubt. Unless you are confident enough, do it in your own risk. Hehe
Steps (I will not guide you in decompiling anymore right?):
1. Pull your android.policy.jar (located at system/framework)
2. Decompile your android.policy.jar in apktool
3, After decompiling find this smali inside your android.policy.jar
KeyguardViewManager.smali
4. Find this method under KeyguardViewManager.smali
.method public declared-synchronized show()V
5. Inside the show()V find this, (dont worry it is only one in there)
0x10000800
6. Change it to 0x10000900 or any thing that will be , either 0x1800.
7. Save and compile.
8. Flash. Hehe
Trivia: The "0x10000800" is a View.LayoutParams.FLAG_NOT_FULLSCREEN.

Hello fellow XDA users, I have another mod over here and it is exactly unique as I havent seen a guide like this.
What is this all about?
This is a Power Menu, a renewed and redux Power Menu of mine, I am sharing this to everyone for they surely want it too. This mod compose of the following:
PROS:
1. JB Sound Panel
2. Advance Reboot Option (Fast boot added)
3. Re-arrange Power Menu
4. Screenshot added
CONS:
No data network list adapter

This modification comprises of the GlobalAction.java and framework-res and lil trick, I modified the AOSP GlobalAction.java and make it in stock (I gurantee no problem at all.) So the data network list adapter wasnt added back but I am doing everything I could just to bring it back again and again. Since I am annoyed too that there is no data network overthere. Also I tried to port the smali to stock but I am having a problem with Verification Error(I think the API is the cause, the invoke gA, g0, p0 thingy. LOL.)
This also work with other device since its AOSP made. I dont knew where to put the thread around the XDA , I only knew this Galaxy Y Forum cause it rocks and hell awesome.
Enough said, Ill be dividing this guide unto parts. The android.policy.jar and the framework-res.apk
Requirements:
1. ApkTool
2. PC
3. Your very own android.policy.jar
4. Your framework-res.apk
5. Working brain with some time to think since Ill be making your head dizzy.
6. A Galaxy Y
7. And the zip you will download at the bottom.

Instruction
Prologue:
1. Extract the zip file in any directories you want
Chapter 1. Making your framework-res ready for the battle.
1. Pull your framework-res.apk
2. Decompile your framework-res.apk
3. Now go to the extractred file and go to its framework-res folder and find the 2 folder(drawable-ldpi and layout) and copy it to your framework-res.apk/res/*here
4. Now after copying, compile your framework-res.apk now.
5. Now its finish, save it. But.. decompile your new framework-res.apk again. Why? To see the new public ids that had been registered.
Chapter 2. Subtitute the old GlobalAction troops with the new GlobalAction (ALL HAIL SOLDIERS.)
1. Pull your android.policy.jar
2. Decompile your android.policy.jar
3. Now delete all the GlobalActions.smali in com/android/internal/policy/impl also with the dollar sign, delete them all. No remnants will survive.
4. Lets go back to the zip that you had downloaded, check the com/android/internal/policy/impl folder, you will see a GlobalAction.smali with other co-smali. Copy all of them and paste it to your decompiled android.policy.jar.
Chapter 3. Substitution of IDs (NO ID NO ENTRY)
1. Go to your decompiled new framework-res.apk/res/values/public.xml
2. Take note of the following ids that had been added at chapter 1. Maybe you write them, memorize or what so ever. Mainly they are the
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202aa" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel2" id="0x010202ab" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel3" id="0x010202ac" />
<public type="drawable" name="ic_lock_reboot" id="0x010803ed" />
<public type="drawable" name="ic_lock_screenshot" id="0x010803ef" />
<public type="layout" name="global_actions_jbsoundpanel" id="0x01090092" />
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
(Our ids may vary depending on the number that had been registered, but here is mine as an example)
3. Go to your android.policy.jar(the one with a new GlobalAction man ) Open the GlobalActions.smali
4. Find the "0x10803ef" without quotation. and replace it with corresponding id of your "ic_lock_reboot"
Mine was 0x010803ed, so I changed 0x10803ef to 0x010803ed
5. Same with screenshot button, find "0x10803f0" and replace it with the id of "ic_lock_screenshot"
6. Save your GlobalActions.smali
Chapter 4. Making the ultimate weapon of the story. (LAZZEERRRR ZWORD!)
1. Go to GlobalActions$JBSoundPanel.smali in your android.policy.jar and open it.
2. Find "0x1090093" and replace it with the id of your "global_actions_jbsoundpanel" layout.
3. Now this will be the hardest, really hard. ...
4. Find " .array-data 0x4" , below it you will see a three (musketteers/weirdos/hex) and end with ".end array-data" right?
Additional Info: They are the ids soundpanel1, soundpanel2, soundpanel3. The order were ,soundpanel1 at the top id array, at the middle id array was the soundpanel2 and the bottom id array was soundpanel3.
Example(The given):
0xabt 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t #soundpanel1
0xact 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t #soundpanel2
0xadt 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t #soundpanel3
When they are converted, they where be
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202ab" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202ac" />
<public type="id" name="soundpanel1" id="0x010202ad" />
Take a look at "0xabt 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t", So the logic in this will be,
1st 5 digit is the 2digit to the last of the ids
2nd 4digit is the 2 digit before the last 2 ids
3rd 4digit is the 2 digit before the before of the last 2 digit
4th 4digit is the 4 digit at the beginning of the public id.
As my case I have an id of
0x10202aa so it will be 0xaat 0x2t 0x2t 0x1t

Hello Friends
After Getting a Lot of PMs and Requests on How to Make so-and-so Icon Pack Compatible with Xperia Home and me Telling Everyone the Same Thing.
So i Thought to make a Guide/tutorial for the same.
So Guys i will be Dividing This Guide into Two Parts, Part-1 will Guide You to Make any IconPack Compatible with Xperia Home and Part-2 will Guide You to Edit IconPack.
So lets Start with Part-1
PART-1
In This Part i will be guiding you to make any icon pack compatible with Latest Xperia Home with IconPack Support.
This is the easiest and quickest way to make any icon pack compatible with Xperia Home it literally take few Minutes
So lest get started....
Things needed :-
PC
Apktool ( i recomed Apktool by Bdfreak)
Icon Pack which is to be edited
Notepad++
STEPS
STEP 1
Decompile Ur Icon Pack using Apktool.
STEP 2
Go to the Decompiled Folder and edit AndroidManifest.xml
and add this code just after </intent-filter> as shown below in the Picture and Save the File.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="com.sonymobile.home.ICON_PACK"/>
<category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/>
</intent-filter>
STEP 3
Recompile and Sign the apk using Apktool.
Move to Phone then Install.
Enjoy....:laugh:
[/HIDE]
PART-2
So Guys Here is the Part-2,In This i Will Guide You to Edit Any IconPack Which Includes
Removing an Icon from the Icon Pack
Replacing a Icon with a New Icon
Adding a New Icon in IconPack
In this Part we will assume that u have Decompiled ur Icon pack and you dont like music icon and want to Edit it.
1. Removing an Icon from the Icon Pack
STEP-1
First Find ComponentInfo of the app whose icon u want to remove. you can easily get ComponentInfo of any app by either google or use Application Reader app,its free on playstore and works all the time
STEP-2
Go to Res/xml folder and edit appfilter.xml using notepad++.
STEP-3
Remove the Item Component line which Correspond to the ComponentInfo of the Mucic App whose icon u want to Remove from IconPack and save.
for example: lets say u dont like music icon and u want to remove so u will be deleting " <item component="ComponentInfo{com.sonyericsson.music/com.sonyericsson.music.MusicActivity}" drawable="music" /> " this line.
STEP-4
Recompile and Sign the APK and enjoy..
2. Replacing a Icon with a New Icon
STEP-1
first we will have to find the music icon from the icon pack. you can do this by two ways
Open the Folder where all icons are stored usually it is in res/Drawable-nodpi-v4 folder and find the Music Icon u Want to Replace
Get the CompontInfo of music app and search for it in appfilter.xml. lets say the line u got after search is " <item component="ComponentInfo{com.sonyericsson.music/com.sonyericsson.music.MusicActivity}" drawable="music12" /> " so the icon associated with music app is music12(which is given at the end of the line in drawable="music12")
STEP-2
Now Replace the New Icon with the Old Music Icon and Keep the Name Same Ofcource.
STEP-3
Recompile and Sign the APK nd enjoy...
3. Adding a New Icon in IconPack
Lets Say you Want to Add Music Icon to your Icon Pack.
STEP-1
Paste the Music icon in the folder where all Icons Are placed usually its Drawable-nodpi-v4
STEP-2
Edit Appfiler.xml and the this line at the end
<item component="" drawable="" />
add ur component info after <item component="HERE"
and add the of the icon which u r adding in drawable="HERE" />
STEP-3
Recompile,Sign,install and enjoy...:laugh:

Thanks very much indeed for this, i am quite a novice when it comes to this kind of thing, and it worked flawlessly, quick couple of questions if you dont mind, if i want to remove certain icons from the icon pack, is it an easy thing to do ? and one last one, i know the icons are there but they are not changing to the ones in the icon pack.
Thanks once again.

Ur wlcme buddy,nd its really easy to edit an icon pack.
Both ur questions can be solved by editing appfilter.xml(which is found in res/xml folder)
Now in first question edit appfilter.xml and delete the componentinfo line which correspond to the icon u want to remove then save and recompile.
Now in second question add the componentinfo line corresponding to app whose icon u want to add.
Hope u get it bro nd i will update the thread tomorrow and add steps to edit icon pack if u didnt understand now dont worry tomorrow after reading the steps u can easily edit icon pack.:laugh::good:

Thanks very much indeed, shall look forward to it, i have checked and the componentinfo line is there, and the icon is also there, but for some strange reason it doesn't change. I have checked another icon pack, the component info line is the same as the other pack and that one is working ?
