The tiny text is probably ok for young eyes, but too small for my old gazers. I'll probably go back to the other version.

Just as the voice of other, you can flash on a rooted device, the procedure would be:
flash stock recovery > apply ota > flash recovery via odin > flash latest root from recovery in recovery.
Can you actually flash it on the rooted phone? And what is the change log?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using XDA App
Thanks for this!
Watch this video if you're rooted and want to update:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KeZx65twLk
It will get you stock recovery back and you can manually install the update. Then just watch my how to root video after to get root back
Also, here is a mirror for the file:

Yup, because you have to flash the stock recovery via Odin to accept the OTA. Then you have to re-root by flashing back to CWM recovery and the teamwin root zip. Follow the QBKing77 video above to guide you through it

First android phone and need help installing the CM10 ROM.
I downloaded the rom and extracted the zip to my internal sd card and when I apply the zip I just get installation aborted and get an android with a red triangle am I forgetting something?
I'm using CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4
which version of the s3 do you have? If you have the SGH-i747 you have the wrong version of CWM, download rom manager and update to the AT&T S3, should be 5.8.4.7
Do not extract the zip, put the zip on your sd card and flash it via CWM.

also Rom manager doesn't have s3 yet the closest I see to my phone is the Samsung s2
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III using Tapatalk 2
I'm with bell as well. When you are in Rom Manager, did you press Flash CWM Recovery? For mine when i press it, it gives me a list of a bunch of phone models and near the bottom should be Samsung Galaxy S3 (AT&T) That's how I got the proper CWM

lol... the first one will do fine, the second one is touch recovery, so pick which one you want to use... flash it in recovery like a ROM... after that your recovery will be changed... reboot the phone once, or just reboot recovery, try the CM10 flash again, and if it fails again, you got a bad download, go get the rom again...

i suggest using Root Explorer since you get access to everything on your phone. If you don't want to pay for it, 4shared an app called BlackMartAlpha apk then download the app from there. You get most of the paid apps from there, at least I do anyways

I have re-tested the current link on a LG Optimus Pro E980 twice, it worked flawlessly using CWM, should be fine with TWRP.
If you are running the Pure Stock Rooted and Debloated Rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44972803 ) that uses the E988 Home on your E980, then use this link and you will have all the themes: http://d-h.st/rBi

Also, thanks to @jason504 for all his help getting the bugs worked out, I appreciate it greatly.
Also, here is a new link with a compiled set of Mature Themes for everyday use.
http://d-h.st/epf unzip and install as normal apps....DO NOT FLASH THESE IN RECOVERY!
Later,

I am not responsible for your phone, flash at your own risk.

I flashed a kernel to my Sprint Epic 4G touch, but now I cant go past the screen that says "Samsung Galaxy SII" with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point.
I can still access odin mode and clockwork but I cant seem to do anything else.
Is the only way to fix it to do a data wipe? How can I solve this issue?
And if at all possible, can I fix it without erasing all of my data on it?

Lol that kernels from 2011 or 12 I think xD. Assuming that you're still rooted, download a jb format all and ROM of your choice. Follow flash instructions and you should be set. if you want to add a custom kernel, make sure it's compatible.

If you can get in DL mode, get a one click exe and start over, but before you do that, you need to do some research and maybe check out a few youtube videos from QBKing77
Make sure the kernel is appropriate for your ROM build is the main thing, it won't boot if the kernel isn't made for that type of ROM. For example, if you have a JB TouchWiz ROM, you need a JB TouchWiz kernel.
Sprint website shows that they are working on latest update ZVH. is it 5.1 ?
According to the RDF at view-source:http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS980-SPRINT/LS980ZVH.rdf, it is still Android 5.0.2 unfortunately. Maybe they backported some of the 5.1 memory leak fixes ... we can only pray, as I have to reboot my phone every few days at least - else it slows to a crawl. It never did that on KitKat - I'd often run it for weeks between reboots.
I'd bet it's the stagefright update and nothing else. If I remember right though, ZVG was listed as 4.4.2 for quite a while on the RDF page.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
5.1.1 is coming I can't see why they wouldn't just push that with the stage fix.

Patch for critical security vulnerability ('Stagefright')
But more importantly...do we have new signal icons or no?

What signal icons are you talking about? The spark /3G?

update ends in error
phone is rooted with stock rom so it's a no go to upgrade
How can I apply this update when I rooted & have TWRP. Is there a guide on how I can temporarily flash back the stock recovery, install this and then re flash twrp?
@EROMITLAB Yeah Sprint is retiring the spinning circle thing. But not in this zvh update.

My wife's phone downloaded the update, but it hasn't installed yet.. I'm trying to upload it to Dropbox and I'll post a link to it when I get it there in case anybody wants to look at it.. Her phone is rooted running stock with a Wi-Fi hack, and has twrp as recovery so I'm not sure how/if I want to apply the update yet..
Here's the link to the file. The original name was just update.zip, I renamed it for my own organizing..
