Screen Dimming Lag/Stuttering

Hi guys. Did a search on the subject but couldn't find anything.
I'm on a stock 4.0.4 rooted Telus GS3. I noticed that when the phone screen dims, it sort of stutters. I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue. Would a modded kernel fix this? Do they exist for stock roms?
Thanks!

Mine does this too. Stock LH9 AT&T rooted.
The stutter in screen dimming is not related to auto brightness. You should notice it only happens with regards to the auto shutoff feature. 10 seconds before your screen timeout, the screen dims to warn you it's about to turn off. This is when it happens. It's definitely worth noting that when you turn on auto brightness and the screen changes brightness...there is no stutter.
I have exchanged my device (for other reasons) and this minor annoyance is present on both devices.

Screen brightness not working

Hi all again, I have an issue that I wrote in my last too but seems like I have to make a new one for it.
And the problem is my screen brightness does not work when I turn off the auto-brightness. The screen still has auto brightness however I have turned that off. So everytime I change the brightness to a lower one the screen will get darker, until I turn on the screen again, then the its on auto-brightness again. However in the menu it shows that auto-brightness is still disabled. How can I fix this issue?

omg why do you open extra a new thread for this ._. ...go to settings then about and then software-information it must be the second last thing...there you can see if you have a custom rom or official update...and if it isn't working then just root your phone and install a custom rom...but why do you open a new thread...-.- you also could just ask me or so per pm ...always people are opening more and more thread ...
It says HTCExtension_Sense45_1, what do i do now?
And I opened a new thread because the other one was about another issue not this, and I aso asked about this problem but nobody seemed to answer

It's not a question I've heard before, I think opening a thread is pretty valid.
No solution yet? The brightness works when I have it on 10% and very low brightness but not more than almost 20%, then it wont work

I have the exact same problem... mine is combined with a screen flickering. is your backlight flickering aswell? maybe those are two seperate things but I don't know..
Anyone has a fix for this? which version should we flash?
mine is also
HTCExtension_Sense45_1
but
Software#:
3.14.207.27
and Kernel:
3.1.10-g946d78d
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
any advice would be greatly apprechiated
Oh I just saw that your device goes back to automatic... mine will stay at whatever I put it. It will only have no effect as it is still at minimum brightness
you are all still on official ota? not custom rom? if on official rom/ota try hardreset/factory reset...you can go in settings then there is an option for hardreset or so ...sry don't know the english word forgot it it's somewhere by language etc ...there you can do a reset so that all will be again to full stock like you bought it ...just try out...
and that with htc extension we don't need just software number like 3.14
Thanks, already did that. No change. I am thinking about flashin another kernel /rom. Could that help? Which one would you recommend to try?
thanks again

Vibration on Stock And AOSP

Hi everyone..
Did anyone notice that the samsung ROM and ROM based on it has a better vibration intensity and it feels better than the on in AOSP based ROM which have vibration provided by CM10.1
Anyone has any idea? Anyone know a system file that can do the trick? Anything that helps in that?
Sent from my GT-N7100
I have a related but different issue - the vibrate works fine with the screen on, but stutters and becomes incredibly weak when the phone is locked and the screen is off. Any ideas?
In my rom (yours may be different) there's settings>Advanced>Haptic>Vibration intensity - choose 100% and it's noticeably better than stock...but all intensities have the same problem when the screen is off

[Half Solved] Please Help - Brightness Level reverts to 100% after reboot

After no reply, I'm editing the title and the rest.
System:
Phone: LG SU640
OS: Android 4.1.2 V30C V3 ROM by team TNT(SU640_TNT_V3_OK.zip)
Problem/s:
A)
1. After rebooting the phone, brightness reverts back to 100% and Auto Brightness is deselected automatically.
2. Screen timeout reverts back to 2 Minutes, no matter what I do.
Steps I've taken:
1. Flashed back to V10i_00.kdz, tried upgrading to V30C, then flashing the custom ROM by team TNT, this was done many times.
2. Tried apps to control brightness but even if something works a bit, it almost kills the games' like subway surfer or Air Attack HD's performance.
B)
I can't even run any custom rom since they lag like hell and are almost unusable.
I've run out of options. Will some experienced person please take some of his/her precious time and give some advice regarding these problems.? I'm stuck here an almost unusable phone. I'll be happy with anything that works properly.
I'll really appreciate it.
SOLUTION:
Get the ROM and Instructions link from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2373902
Follow exact instructions for flashing it and let the ROM settle for some hours, it may get stabilized after a few Reboots.
Avatar ROM isn't behaving well, neither is AOKP. Heard good feedback about CM on this model.
Edit: Brightness problem isn't just on this model, I've been told that LG LU6200 has the same bug so it is software related.
When you select 100% Brightness, and then you check auto brightness, nothing happens. It works only when you lower the brightness slider, yes, you can still adjust brightness slider when it should be disabled. LG should fix this.
Anyone with any suggestion at all?
I've done everything I could, please help me so I can use my phone again.
Does auto brightness work with any roms, stock or custom?

First of all, thank you for replying.
Yes, auto brightness works in Avatar Rom without any problems but the ROM itself lags like hell for some reason. I've tried MIUI unofficial too but the same lag.
It worked in stock GB too but then I flashed it and it stopped working. When I flashed it to ICS, Auto brightness settings used to stick at the boot but not anymore.
Auto brightness feature is adjustable through velis auto brightness program but it has a severe negative impact on the performance of any running applications. Experimenting with softwares revealed that the sensor itself isn't faulty.
As a last resort, I tried updating it with official lg online updater and it updated the stock rom to V30D. Now brightness settings reverts back, auto brightness is unselected and screen timeout goes back to 2 Minutes.
Very frustrating.
Edit: I'll be very happy if I can use Avatar ROM on my phone without any lag, then I won't have to rely on stock ROM.
Edit 2: I can't reply to any message via inbox. Whatever the problem is.

Disply issues after overclocking

Hay
I overclocked my Nexus 5X but the system did not function normal and suddenly all the colors went over saturated.
I went right back and reflashed the kernel (elementalX 1.14) with stock values. The freq of the CPU normalised some hours later.
Now I have this issue that the colors of my phone are still clearly over saturated, the phone itself freezes randomly when I perform a task (open app, notifications, wake from sleep, scroll a website etc.).
The only way to unfreeze the screen is by clicking the power button (put the screen to sleep), and re-click the power button (awake the screen).
Further I see ghosting on the screen. The start button from the bootloader apears and the clock and battery from the statusbar apears when there is a dark screen (f.or example when the phone boots).
Judging from the EX Kernel Manager values I can say that the CPU is working normaly now and the GPU should be fine as well?
Because when I take a screenshot and look at it on my PC with a different screen the colors are absolutely normal!
Could it be that something happend to the screen while it ran overclocked? Have you ever had such a issue and how did you solve it? Is this problem solvable?
I run Tesla v2.0 Alpha OS with the ElementalX 1.14 kernel.
Thanks for your help.
Hey pal, hay is for horses.
Dirty flash your ROM. If you still have issues, clean flash your ROM. If its still a problem, flash the factory images. If you continue to have a over saturated screen you have damaged you hardware.
Hey pal
Thanks for the feedbackk. I reflashed the rom and the kernel. After that flashed the stock images. Nothing helped. The color is oversatured even before boting. The usual warning because of the open bootloader is overdsturated as well. Any idea what else i could try? If it is the display , what can i do?

Its a hardware issue then. Most likely because you overclocked. There really isn't much you can do. Maybe replace the screen? That might not be the only thing that is damaged though. Good luck.
