Hi.
So I formatted all partitions to F2FS using a modified TWRP 2.7.1.1. Then I tried pushing the F2FS ROM over ADB while still in recovery. However, after interacting with the screen, it went black. I pulled the battery and it didn't do a lot anymore, only showing the Google logo. I tried using a USB jig to get it into Download mode, and I flashed the original 4.3 ROM/Recovery, however, upon finishing the Odin flash, the glowing X from the Nexus logo just keeps staying there and Android doesn't boot.
My volume buttons are broken, so I can't use those to get into the bootloader nor recovery.
Is there any way I can fix this, or have I managed to end up with a pretty paperweight? Also is there ANY way I can get into the bootloader without volume keys? That's the only thing I'd ever need.
Thanks.

Hi,
I've attempted the JB update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737899..
fastboot flash boot boot.img etc.. which said all was well..
But now find that my phone will not boot up, doesn't get past the Google and unlock screen.
I've tried all combinations of volume buttons, I can get to the fasboot menu where I can choose either Recovery Mode, Power Off, Start or Restart bootloader.
None of these appear to do anything, recovery goes to the google a screen followed by an Android on it's back with an exclamation mark over it.. then goes to the Google and unlocked icon screen and stays there...
I fear my phone is bricked... Please help..

1.) Your phone is far from bricked at all. You have access to the boot loader (i.e. the screen with the options). The recovery you're seeing is stock recovery. All you need to do is go into boot loader and fastboot flash recovername (CWM) and you will have your custom recovery back to wipe data and reinstall a rom or restore a nandroid backup
Mine is doing the same thing, weird thing is, it was working since yesterday on jellybean, it just randomly froze this morning and and now won't boot..
im currently at work so i don't have admin rights to do a fastboot flash..
any idea why it would randomly stop working when i havn't flashed anything on it besides the jb rom?
Sorted..
Thanks for the comments.. yeah i was over-reacting a bit there..
I downloaded the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, got a stock rom form gopogle, flashed it.. back to normal, well, it will be after i restore the CWM backup i took.. phew..
Thanks again
Ian.
Still stuck
I'm also stuck in the same situation(google with the unlock screen). I fear I'm a little more stuck. I also can see the recovery/restartbootloader screen. However, everything I try still comes back to that same google screen and gets hung up. Need some help!
this has happened twice today and i think it from using volume+

Boot into recovery, wipe cache, Reboot
My Sprint Galaxy Nexus recently got submerged in saltwater (it was in a drybag that failed). After lots of rinsing and drying, I finally got it to turn on with the Google logo and go into a boot loop. I held vol up/down/power to get to recovery mode once and decided to do some Googling to make sure how to proceed. Ever since then, the vol up/down/power mode doesn't even work. Trying that, the phone will start up and just go to a black screen (if I'm in a dark room, I can see that the display is on, just black). As opposed to just hitting power which still shows the Google logo and boot loops.
I also can't seem to connect to adb, although I've done that many times in the past. I suspect it's because I can't get to bootloader mode. If I could get to that, I think I'd be golden. It seems, the only thing I can get to is odin mode, so I tried returning to stock using that. I was unfamiliar with that process, so I walked through the guide here and used the FH05 tar, however, it always seemed to error on the radio-cdma.img. If I remove that from the tar, it'll write fine, but nothing really changed in terms of what I could do. I was unable to find any other working tar links.
Any ideas on what to try with ODIN or help getting my adb connected or getting to recovery mode?
The Gnex became very slow and there were apps and processes constantly crashing.
Did a factory reset, and the phone got bricked. The screen was just black, it didn't show a sign of life, not even the google logo.
Then I tried to unbrick it with OMAP flash or something, then it booted, showed the google logo, and then the nexus logo.
Then it crashed and rebooted.
I tried reflashing the stock rom using odin.
That didn't do a thing.
Next, I installed TWRP recovery and installed Cyanogenmod and Gapps.
And its still in bootloop.
I don't know what to do now, please help me!!
Is it still fixable??
Thanks in advance

"Did a factory reset, and the phone got bricked. The screen was just black, it didn't show a sign of life, not even the google logo." - Why did you think it was "bricked"? Did the battery die? Also, why did you use OMAPflash before trying to recover the device with fastboot/factory images (or even odin)?
That said...
Are you 100% sure it flashed TWRP? Did you wipe data/factory reset before flashing CM/Gapps?
Anyways... boot to fastboot (device turned off, hold down both vol keys+power until you see the android flying, big "START" letters at the top, small letters on the lower left corner), then flash factory images. Don't use any toolkits, learn fastboot if you have too.
Wel,I thought the phone was bricked because it wouldn't boot up properly. I tried omap flash because it was the first thing I found about fixing a bricked Samsung. I know the bith volume Keys + power but the phone wouldn't do anything. It didn't even boot in fastboot.
So here's the thing, i wanted to install a new rom for my HTC, but it got stuck in the loop. Unfortunately, while installing i forgot that my volume buttons weren't working , and now i am unable to go to the recovery to install correct rom to boot my device, i tried using adb while charging but it couldn't find my device, is there a way to get my phone to recovery without volume control buttons or from pc?

It's been a while since I've touched the tablet, and I'm hoping to bring it back to life. I can see that it's trying to boot up LineageOS, but the logo never stops loading. I can boot into odin mode, using vol down+ power, but that's about as far as I can go. How can I start over from scratch and get my tablet working again?
@AliMusa no TWRP recovery (Home, Vol-up, pwr)?
That would make it much easier.
Starting from scratch means flashing stock ROM with Odin.

I managed to get TWRP installed, but still can't get LineageOS to install and boot up. It just keeps showing the boot logo and then eventually goes back to recovery mode.

Wiped everything (not SD) plus "Format Data" ?
Same without Gapps, Magisk aso?
Tell us more what you're doing.
@AliMusa I was able to bring mine back by using a wall to micro-usb charger no USB plugs, I specifically used an old Nokia charger it's output was something small, I believe 700mah but it was the only charger that would get the device to boot to anything besides download.
