Hi.
I am writing here because i have a question regarding a kernel for amami...
The problem is, i cant write in there because i havent posted at least 10 posts or something like that!?
It really doesnt make sense.. So do i have to create 10 random threads?? Or is it possible to get in touch with an admin who can give me the right privileges to post a question/reply in development-related forums??
So let me get this right. You joined, read the rules and watched the video and your still asking this question?

With fewer than 10 posts:
You can post in any forum EXCEPT Development Forums,
You cannot post pictures (including smiles),
You cannot post external weblinks,
You cannot make a post containing the "@" symbol (system thinks it's a weblink!)
(When you reach 10 posts you may need to logout and clear your Browser-cache and clear cookies before it will allow you to post in Development Forums)

After downloading a new ROM and reading all 245 pages posted on that ROM why do I need to start or respond to BS threads in order to reply to the DEV with my logcat of a major problem to get over the 10 minimum posting block?? I hate to run through all the forums with questions and log bs posts I can't answer in order to tell the one person I NEED to speak with about a problem with his software. At least this counts as 1+ post so I'm almost on my way to speaking with the DEV to resolve a problem with his software
Mod's: shall I run though 9 more of these posts before I can post a resonse to the developer to overcome my minimum post count so I can offer my assistance on a problem?

If it is that urgent, you are always welcome to PM the dev...I am sure he wont mind too much if it is a major bug as you are implying. Rules are put in place for a reason, instead of complaining, work to become a useful member of the community and try following the above link.
Well, don't know if this is the right place, but would it be possible to change my permissions to post in the development area??
I need 10 posts to be able to post. I am mostly a reader and DO USE the SEARCH button A LOT. Would it be possible to lift this limitation on my account??
Any mods please step in.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it has been done for anyone since the rule has been made, and it won't be done in the future. Look up this thread if you wanna really post a helpful one in the dev section - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841030
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");
They won't change it, just try to contribute on very easy post questions or give your input on somebody's post. I understand your more of a reader, so am I to be honest, but while reading the forms I find questions that have very easy answers and I answer them or posts that I feel my input would do some good and then boom I got my 10 posts before I new it. I been a member for 2 years and have under 40 posts lol

99% sure they won't lift it just for you mate. If you have something genuinely useful to contribute to a development thread, then you should be able to get 10 posts extremely easily by answering questions in your device's Q&A. If you can't get 10 posts, chances are that the Dev area is not where you should be posting.
I have more than 10 posts but i still cant post in developmental forums

You gotta wait. It'll take time for the database to update.
And when you post, make sure it's not 'thanks' or 'kewl' or 'i really love this rom...ty so much!!' or any post like that.
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");
I've noticed through my tapatalk application I am only able to post in the General Threads but not development threads. Its odd that I can start a new post within general but am unable to reply or ask questions in both the development threads on all posts.
Can anyone assist me with this? I've tried searching for an answer to mo avail so... please help.

You don't have enough posts to post anywhere else. It's a rule to prevent n00bs from creating threads in the dev section that cause devs to lose their minds and k0nane to post the nyancat song until a mod shuts the thread down.
Haha, alright then. I see. I normally just go with the flow, but today I had some input about a rom and no dice. All is well now though. I think that this post put me over the counter and allowed me to reply within a thread in dev.
Thanks for the ultra speedy reply.

HI everyone,
I have found topic about 10 post before be able to post in dev fora.
but none about 10 post before be able to post links, so why a such policy ?
Don't just reply to avoid spam, we all guess that, but it could be possible to automatically monitor new user, and if the post a lot of link a modo will be alerted to check him, you could also in this automated function include banned/suspicious rule url. so like that modo will be notified before anyone trigger the alarm
Cya
Why?
Because that's how it is..
I mean is 10 post that much that you needed to open a thread for it ?

Thx but "Because that's how it is.." don't really reply to my question.
and no 10 post is not too much but when you want communicate an url at your first post (and without you post mean nothing) then yes 10 post is too much

Just get 10 posts and then post all the url's you want you said it its not too much so there is no need to make a thread for it...

As you may see that XDA is a huge site do it won't be very easy to moderate every new link new users post. Also, there is a restriction from posting in Development forum but that doesn't mean that spams are allowed in other forums. Most spambots have intentions to promote a specific site or advertisement, sometimes profane things, so as to check against it, this rule has been made. However, you are free to suggest something better of you have it in your mind

It is to prevent spammers from posting links. If you want to post it before then, you will need to post it like http: //xda-developers.com. People will figure out how to make it work.
Since you are new here, you may want to give this a read: [GUIDE] - XDA New User Guide - Getting started on XDA
Thank you,

Reactive checking of individual users is simply not possible on a site this size - spammers would spam to get their links visible for a few minutes. The simplest solution is to prevent users with less than 10 posts from posting external links, full stop. This puts off spammers.
