Disable Toast Status Messages i.e. "sending.." - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So it's a minor thing, but it's ugly...
i want to know if there is anyway to get rid of those TOAST type messages after you send an email or text etc.
once you press send a teal box pops up and says "Sending..."
when you delete something it says "Deleted.."
disappears after a second or so but it;s annoying... maybe it's me

Text Messages (1)

Anyone else having this problem? I deleted all my text messages and the header still says Text Messages (1) as if there is 1 unread one... ????!?!
Not sure exactly...When I get a text and read it but don't want to delete it stays on the topbar. I have to go back to text messages page on the panel and scroll on it again. It will usually then remove it from the topbar. If you don't need the text message just delete it and it also is removed from the topbar on homescreen. I don't know if thats what you are having issues with but that's not the end of the world for myself.
I'm using WM6.1. It has the threaded text message strings. After i go into a message/conversation and read the text message it should remove the (1) from the top bar signifying no unread messages. I've read all my messages and even went as far as deleting them all but the (1) still persists!
Did you try to restart the phone like turn it off and back on... Also check your MMS maybe you have some message that was unread in there... Check it out and get back if this does not fix it...
Go to your registry and check the value there, look in : HKCU\System\State\Messages, and look in sms or wherever and check the count, if at 1 then set it to 0.
Also, remember the message is not "Read" if you just view without responding.
if you dont respond, you need to <- out of it....not hitting the home key or cancel or whatever.
that is the only thing that works for me.
I have a similar problem, when I view a text message it is not marked read immediately, and home screen shows the mail icon. To get over this problem, I do the following: after reading a message, I press Menu->Close instead of just pressing the BACK button.

nooooooooooooooooo i can't seem to do anything to get rid of it! i delete all the messages and even after that reset the registry key stated by showaco and after a restart it still shows [email protected] ARGghghhghghg
Could it be an unread message stored in another folder such as Drafts or Trash?
Unfortunately not
I checked each folder and went as far as emptying them all

New SMS- New Sms message, press to view!

yeah. thats the just of it.
ive had this problem on nonsense, and cyan6, and im sure im just over looking something.
when I get a text message, in my notification area, not only do I get the text, I get an additional message, stating the above. And my text message icon remains until i click the "new sms" message also, so annoying.
I can not find a setting, to let the regular text come through and alert me, and have the "new sms" message go away.
anyone wanna share some love with me?
i searched Q&A for a lil bit, but it seems like its just me maybe?
Thanks, anyone out there.
Are you using the stock Messenger or another one? Sounds like it might be Notifications turned on for different Messenger Apps.
I have no other messaging apps installed whatsoever, just the stock Messaging app.
And, to add on, the notification ICON i get, is a envelope style icon, instead of the standard Text message icon.
and when i click the "new SMS" notification, it just takes me to the stock messaging app / list view of messages.
SOLVED
****. It was coming from the app "Block SMS"
All it does, is auto-delete texts from certain numbers as soon as they come in, but there are no settings at all for alerts.
It doesn't even alert for anything else. JUST for new messages.
Thanks anyone for reading!

text message notification

Ok I have Handcent I love using it. But every time I get a text I get a Handcent notification and a normal Android text message notification. How do I get rid of the normal text message notification. I dont use the nominal text program I only use Hancent. Thanks for all the help and sorry if its stupid question.
open stock message program. menu-settings-scroll down to where it says received notification and uncheck it.
Messaging>Setting>Notifications.
Thanks folks, bad case of the stupids for me.......

[Q] Hanging message - how to get rid of it

Hi,
I have a problem with an sms hanging somewhere in the system but invisible in messaging. It happened when a message arrived during messaging freeze (sometimes happens but that's another story). Now I have a new message notification (green "1" mark in manilla) but the unread message can't be seen in messaging, so I can't delete it. When I delete any other message the notif. disappears but when another message arrives it appears again.
Is there a way to get rid of it? Maybe go to some database where the message probably is and delete it?
Thanks for any help.
btw. Multiple soft reset did not help.
I found the appropriate database with pocket mechanic but there is no message that I wouldn't see in messaging. So where the heck is the notification coming from?
Thanks.

[Q] Messages "received notifications"

I like the look and feel of the standard SMS app, HTC Messages (I have tried all the others), but I have a problem with one aspect to it and I was wondering if anyone had a solution.
I like to receive a "message received" confirmation and so select in the setting to get one, but I also like to get a "popup" on the lockscreen of the message details - but if you select "display message on lockscreen", you also get a standard notification for message received. With all the other SMS apps you just get a tick within the message bubble (which you get as well with HTC Messages).
Is there anyway to still get a "message received" confirmation (as a tick within the message bubble), but no standard Android notification AND have a popup on the lockscreen?
Cheers
