Hi, a lot of people (including me) had the problem that the automatic LTE/3G/2G option in network settings wouldnt stick, and after reboot the setting would go back to 3G/2G again.
I am still troubled with this realy annoying problem. has anyone found a permanent fix?
Try changing settings using this hidden menu

Changing the network settings here, is same as changing it in normal settings menu. Just goes back to 3g/2g after reboot...

Hello there, I have a CDMA Desire which I have flashed to Page Plus a while ago, everything is working on it, including data. But, I seem to only get a 1x connection instead of 3G. I know this may seem like a stupid and noobish question, but I would just like to know if there is any way to switch it to 3G? And what would I need to do? I appreciate any help in advance.
usually you don't have to switch anything on for 3g. if i remember correctly there isn't an option to switch between 2g and 3g on the original htc-sense rom anyway, you only can switch off mobile data completely. so if you have switched on mobile data you should be on full 3g-speed. according to my experience this does not necessarily mean you have a fast internet connection, though.
Hi,
usually the device is configured to use 3G (if available) by default, you can check the setting anyway, just to be on the safe side, Settings->Wireless & networks->Mobile networks->Network mode and choose the double option (on my device it is GSM/WCDMA auto but in the US I guess it will be slightly different).
I hope I've been useful,
bye

I'm still confused. When I go to mobile networks on the settings, there is no option to change the network settings, only for the system select and such. If it helps a bit more, I'm currently on the MIUI rom. What would I need to do to get 3G working? Sorry if I'm still sounding like a total noob, it just seems weird that I would only get 1x instead of 3G.
Hi,
can you please post a screenshot of your mobile networks settings?
Just to see if it helps us understanding better

I cannot post a screenshot right now, but basically, when I press Mobile Network settings, I get 4 options. Data enabled, always recieve MMS, data roaming, and system select. When I press system select, the only two options are automatic and home only.
Mmm I don't know what to say, I checked also on my secondary phone (Huawei, standard stock android) and I have the same configuration items plus 1, "use only 2g networks", I don't know why you don't have it

I googled a little bit and I found out that some people are experiencing the same problem with miui, they can't get 3g working and can't find the conf item in mobile networks settings. Why don't you try a different ROM? Just to check whether it is a miui problem

I'm still not having much luck. Do you guys think it could be related to the PRL? Or should I keep trying to find more ROMs to flash?

Same thing happening with me on ICS...
I'm running Paranoid Android on a rooted Galaxy Note 2 and I've run into a weird problem. My mobile data won't work -- the system menu shows it as being on, but I show no actual internet connection. Simple reboots haven't worked; the only way I've been able to resolve is by doing a full restore via TWRP.
The trigger seems to be when I go to certain locations -- like the downtown area of my city, where I'm on an LTE connection. It doesn't happen when I'm on the 3g network near my house, for instance. However, once the mobile data goes down, it won't come back no matter where I am until I restore. Anybody with a similar experience, or a suggestion? I'm at a loss.
Check APN settings to ensure that you only have one listed.. Then edit the "APN type" field and change it to this..
default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet
Make sure to select menu key - save or it won't save. Then reboot phone and how does it react?

Ah! So, only one was selected (ATT) and the suggested fix didnt work. *But* I switched to "ATT LTE" (naturally) and it seems to have fixed it. Many thanks!

Go into settings then wifi then from menu go into advanced and there you have the setting "keep on during sleep"
Looks like it is disabled by default in dmb4...

So I have LTE where I live and under Menu > Settings > More Settings > Mobile Networks > Network mode = LTE/4G/3G/2G.
Lately, I've noticed that when I leave LTE coverage and then come back, it will never go back to LTE. I go back under Menu > Settings > More Settings > Mobile Networks > Network mode and notice that it is now set to 4G/3G/2G. I have to manually switch it back to LTE/4G for it to pick up LTE again.
I even tried dialing *#2263 and setting it to automatic there but it still does the same thing. I have also that when on LTE and using data, it'll just stop working and go back to 4G again.
Anyone else seeing this issue? This hasn't been a problem until I cam back from my overseas trip (which I had the phone in airplane mode the whole time). Not sure if that has anything to do with this issue but just thought I'd mention.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running stock rooted so I guess I would need to do a factory reset? Don't really feel like doing that right now so I might wait awhile. Since posting, I've noticed that when I'm on LTE, I can't even use data. It'll just switch back to 4G. I think the LTE is being spotty, at least I hoping so anyways
Hi,
after the Update for my M9 to Android 6.0, i got a annoying Problem with Wifi.
I get my Push Notifications ours Later, and only if i unlock the Display. I tried Factory Reset. disabled the Wifi Optimizier, forgot the App Settings and lots of other Stuff.
Also i checked my Wifi Connections in the Router Menu, but i have a good Signal.
If i look at Google Play Services (*#*#426#*#*) i see a Error Message thats looks like "err:FIN network:1 time: 42341"
Befor the Update i had no Problems. I don't know what to do.
And sorry for my bad English.
Enable background wifi and test your signal is good and not dropping out.
Make sure your wifi isn't set to powersave mode where it switches off when the screen is off. There could also be an option for allowing apps to update over wifi while charging.. Set it to always.

Where I can find the Wi-Fi power safe mode?
You'll find it under "settings > WLAN > press the 3-dot Menu > choose advanced". There you can change WLAN to always on and disable Battery optimization while in WLAN. This should solve your problem.
