I've tried everything I can think of to turn on auto space with the lg keyboard. I've turned off "word prediction" and "emoticon suggestions". I'm not sure what to try next. Anyone have any ideas?
It's sporadic on mine and really annoying when it decides not to put a space.

This worked for me.
Ok folks.. I am having a weird problem.. when I open up my screen and start typing a reply to a TXT message my display shuts completely off.. the keyboard lights stay on, but the display shuts off and I have to hit another key to turn it back on.. anyone experience this before? I'm using the 'official' AT&T wm6..but I have experienced it with all WM6's..
i kinda get this sometimes, dunno if its only on txts (maybe it is), but sometimes when i'm typing display goes off and keyboard light stays on, its not so bad that its inconvenient though, so i just ignore it
yeah, thats the main thing, its inconvenient and annoys the hell out of me. lol ..
It happens to me too. I think it's just a software issue that will be fixed in a new rom eventually.
Ok, I'm glad I'm not alone with this problem.. lol... thanks.
If i remember correctly go to setttings->Buttons->Backlight and uncheck "Enable keyboard backlight auto sensory" and it stops doing that...
but yes i experience this too and just unchecked that box (i used to uncheck it everytime i flashed a new rom but i haven't done it in a long time so i can't remember if it fixes this issue or not.)
Will report back later to see if it worked
Can someone tell me how to stop the keyboard from popping up on the screen when I receive a text message? Its annoying! Always pops up while Im doing something else with the phone. and it pops up while the phone is locked and then makes my phone freeze.
there are several threads about trying to solve this.
Still haven't found an answer yet though.
This is the closest solve so far:

i use fakesip
although its an all-or-nothing solution, it completely replaces the soft keyboard, supposedly you can switch back by selecting a different soft keyboard, but that doesnt work for me and i have to uninstall to get the soft keyboard back (which is fine for me since i never use the soft keyboard)

Hi everyone!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III on sprint, its running the stock ROM and needs to stay that way. The problem I am having is that the phone will NOT let me turn off swype. The option to deselect it is greyed out. This is VERY annoying because while typing a text message, I will sometimes role my finger a bit to one side, or i wont pick my finger up all the way. This results in massive typos and makes txting take about twice as long as it took me on my HTC Evo 4G. I have attached a screen shot of the screen showing the greyed out selection. Any help with this huge issue would be amazing!
Also, has anyone noticed an error where when typing a txt, the phone will offer you a word and if you take that suggestion and tap it, sometimes it deletes almost your whole txt message and you have to start over? I have had this happen way too many times for this not to be some strange programming error.
Anyway, thanks!
It looks like you have your default set to the Samsung Keyboard, I think that's about as much as you can do. I don't seem to understand your problem, if you're not using Swype why do you need to disable it entirely?
If you're using the Samsung Keyboard make sure you turn off the "Flow" setting. Tap the little gear at the right of the keyboard name. Or switch to a keyboard that doesn't have a "flow" setting like AI Keyboard or Thumb Keyboard. Whatever you do, don't use Swype if you don't want one finger sliding typing.
Yep!
Yep, you figured it out! Thanks mordbane! That was what fixed it! This is why I like xda and have been a member and coming here for so long, you guys have never failed me. I have attached a image of the setting I had to deselect! It was the T9 trace! No more badly messed up txts and typos! I just tested and now I can txt at a high speed with out any typos at all!
Seriously though, thanks again!
Hi guys,
I just came across a very strange issue.
I downloaded a notifications app yesterday and since such apps need accessibility service turned on, I promptly did that in the accessibility settings.
But after this, I noticed that the LG keyboard suddenly changed from the default path keyboard to a normal AOSP type keyboard with TALKBACK turned on!!!! Which means that each time I typed there was a voice calling out the key I pressed, which was terribly annoying to say the least.
I thot maybe i could change it back to default in language settngs but to my amazement all settings in the LG keyboard had been greyed out, so nothing could be changed.
finally after trying everything possible, I disabled accessibility service for the notifications app, and lo and behold the default keyboard was back!
Queries
1) has anybody experienced this behaviour before ? If not , you can try it, it is reversible, so no harm
2) any solutions?
Cheers
