Maybe you unticked, ticked the wrong boxes, or put the file in the wrong place? But i think odin will check the file if its not for that place.
did you get yhe right file for your tab 3 model?
take a look st this:
http://androidcentral.us/2014/02/how-to-flash-firmware-using-odin-samsung-devices/
Is your tab rooted? Maybe its better flash a custom recovery like twrp or cwm through odin, then flash phil's custom touch recovery. Look for universal rooter and flash through the custom recovery. Then find the best custom rom that fits u and your tab model of course. Then flash it through phil's recovery.
if you dont know how to go to recovery:
Hold down power button+volume up+menu button
to go to odin recovery:
Hold down power+volume down+menu button
I hope this helps

i had the same problem.. and unfortunately i had no cwm backup. I resolved it by flashing one of the custom roms (ARHD in particular).. I am assuming your sg note 2 is rooted and u have cwm recovery.. so you can still boot into recovery by holding volume up , power and home simultaneously then backup. subsequently after flashing with custom rom and your phone is booting , you can do advanced restore and restore data only.. hope it works

Your original issue was that chainefire 3d does not work on jelly bean phones. So avoid installing it after you are able to restore lol

The note 2 comes with jelly bean stock
Were you able to install cwm by using jaycooi's link?
That would let you get a custom ROM installed.
Otherwise you could try downloading your stock firmware from Sammobile.com/firmware
Then flashing that through Odin. Could get you back up and running

i dont understand why ppl are crazy abt the latest release and go flashing and later get stuck with knox sh..t ,now you are out of warranty as your count must have triggered due to flashing recovery
try to flash stock again and dont flash old rom now as this may harm your phone so flash the same rom again and see if you can get your phone on but before wipe cache and dalvik and try to boot up.
later root can be sorted out

Well i was on a custom Rom called C-ROM. i decided i did not want that so i tried to install Insane KitKat Rom, after the rom it was stuck on bootanimation so i put the phone into download mode and hope to do a recovery with KIES, but KIES said this device is unsupported so then i tried to do it with ODIN and got a Fail few times then i did the tutorial i linked the original post and it worked until it got stuck on boot animaion.
I guess i went over my head with this thing. sigh

That is actually a 4.4 ROM. Did you have android 4.4 when you flashed C-Rom? This is very important!! You will need to Odin the official firmware or a rooted ROM. Its necessary to know what version you were on. Let us know and we'll give you the next step.

I could not get into recovery at all. like it would just vibrate and go back to start mode. so i went ahead and downloaded the 4.4.2 Official firmware from SamMobile and flashed that with ODIN V3.09 and it worked and did not stall at the boot animation screen.

I think he was probably on 4.4 bro. He flashed the MDL firmware from the link he provided while on a KK ROM, that's why he bricked the phone. He will need to flash the stock official 4.4 to get back in business. I really doubt he was on MDL.

Your issue was flashing the 4.22 firmware. Remember this. You cannot downgrade from 4.4 by any means. You will brick your phone. Its because of the bootloaders. Now if you would've been on 4.2 rooted and updated bootloaders you would've been fine. Glad you are back on track! Good job

Well.....you can't go back to 4.2 or 4.3 stock roms anyway. You can still flash 4.2 or 4.3 custom roms if one of those is your personal favorite that you'd like. Those aren't restricted by the 4.4 bootloader.
