So I bought a Nokia bluetooth headset, and it worked fine indoors,, but outside with the slightest breeze and the headset could not produce noise and the caller could not hear me. Sent it back.
Bought a Jabra headset, works fine indoors, but if i call a mobile when outside, i get 2 mins max of a call, then the caller cant hear me, but i can call hear them. If i call a landline outside its a bit better but still distorted.
I used the Jabra with a cheap Samsung and i do not have any problems indoors or outside.
Am on the verge of buying a Plantronics headset but i'm thinking the problem maybe with my phone? But both headsets worked fine indoors, only problems are outside, even with no wind.
I have a good reception when outdoors.
Any ideas?
Tested the Jabra headset on an old Samsung and it works in all conditions flawlessly?

I just bought the Blue Ant Blutooth head set for my Wing and It sounded like CRAP untill I did some registry hacks to clean up the sound .Thanks to Hardcore & Sleuth255.
The headset themselves are comfortable but still not nearly as loud and clear as the stockers. They reach far and when a call comes in I
can hear the other caller in stereo..nice
One major problem is when you turn off the headset or phone u have to re pair them EVERY time..that sucks
on a 1 to 5 I give them a 3 for $80.00 they could be better.
Why do you have to re-pair them? I use them with my Tilt and don't have to. Must be something with the stack. The hands-free reconnects automatically when I turn them on but for A2DP I have to used A2DP toggle. I bought them from eCost for $24 because they didn't have the retail packaging.
what is the model of the bliant
blueant sorry
ok I couldnt take it anymore so I returned the blueant and got the mot0rola s9, these are HOT !!!!
Smaller, lighter & they connect instantly, and the sound is a 1000 times better for the same price ,the only difference was when I recieved a call with the Blue Ant it was in stereo and with the s9 its in mono.
I have the wing phone.
I hear the skips with both headsets, and Is it me or does anybody else hear the music speed up after the skip??wtf?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a corded hands free in-ear microphone headset. This is a head set where you can have the cord from the phone to the ear and can use it to hear and callers. What makes this "in-ear mic" is the microphone is in your ear as well as the speaker as appose to the mic being on the cord. About 15 years or so ago I had one for a old flip phone. What was nice about it was I ride a motorcycle and a blue tooth device just don't sit well in the helmet. Further more with the mic in the ear made it so the caller or receiving person to whom you are talking to on the phone, don't get the wind noise passing over the microphone. If anyone knows of where I can find something like this, please let me know. Thank you.
I use a HTC Touch Pro that has been molested by Verizon.
Try the Invisio M3, or the M4. Bone conduction, and hear through microphone - you hear the environment around you which could be good for safety, while those talking to you hear no ambient noise whatsoever. You could be in the office for all they know, while in fact you're enjoying your motorcycle on a track. The M4 is moulded to fit your ear canal, just like a high class hearing aid would be. I believe there's even a stereo version where you can set how much of the ambient noise goes through the hear through microphone. They are not cheap, however: M3 is USD 480, M4 is USD 740.

if your using it for your mtorcycle get a nokia bh 103 bluetooth headset. works well with the helmet, and with a bet if velcro you can have the mic infront of your mouth.
you can also use it for music
I looked at that device. Its nice but my GPS uses my bluetooth.
Thanks for the thought....
Any more ideas guys?
I use it with me nokia e51 which also uses its bluetooth for the external gps receiver aswell and its fine. if your in the UK go to a vodaphone shop and give it a try. they sell them for £25
Hello,
This is my first time using bluetooth on the Tilt 2.
I notice a significant amount of static on two headsets now. First was a cheap 30.00 bluetooth headset I returned for an upgrade to a Voyager 520. Headset seems to work well but I do notice an excessive amount of static.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way to boost the signal?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I don't use the bluetooth headset on the TILT 2 (TouchPro2) it's horrible, I have several $100+ units and they all sound the same, I've tried all the registry tweaks and nothing seems to work, so I've given up !
I've tried a Jawbone Prime and 2 Blueant Q1s.....random static. It gets better if I get the phone about a foot from my head, but at that point, I may as well just lose the bluetooth and hold it to my ear. Funny enough, when I have it connected to my car's Bluetooth (2008 Altima) it seems to work fine.
On my original Tilt, with the MS bluetooth stack, it worked flawlessly with my headsets, but wouldn't work worth a crap with the car. Go figure.
Yep, I can confirm that I get static with my Plantronics 520. It sounded just fine on my original Tilt, but on the Tilt 2 I get static even with my phone in my pocket. If I get more than 10 feet away, I can't hear anything but static.
I have the same problem with both my Sony Erricson and Jabra v250 headsets, mine does it in less then ten feet, worked fine on the Tilt and Fuze, sux on the Tilt 2
I just got this headset today. Callers were complaining that they couldn't hear me over the background noise.
Headset seems ok. I tried transferring the contacts to the headset. But after I do, when I make a call, the in-call volume is silent. When I disconnect, I hear the Q2 say "call terminated." But during the call, there's no ringing and I can't hear the other caller.
I resetted the headset, re-paired and cancelled the automatic phonebook transfer. Dialing and in-call volume seems ok now.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Ive had the Q2 for about 2 months now and no issues, Got mine off eBay brand new, used it on my LG Optimus S and my Current EVO with several different roms and never had an issue. Maybe yours could be defective?
I have had the Q2 since it came out and have no complaints from people I talked with while using it. You might want to check the settings menu. Also if you call Blueants CS expect to wait up to an hour to get through, Rick
EDIT: Sorry , it looks like you did check the setting menu. oops
does your q2 speak caller id not phone numbers during call?
mine doesnt
how did you get it to work
m using desire s by the way
thanks
I returned the BlueAnt Q2 to Frys. Callers said the noise cancellation on the BlueAnt was really bad, especially at the mall and other noisy places.
I have the Jawbone Era now. Just picked it up from Best Buy for $130 today. I tested it at home with a floor fan and TV on at full blast while on a call. The caller on the other end said they couldn't hear anything in the background with the Jawbone Era. I also like the louder ear volume and faster recharge time (only 1 hr vs 3-4 hrs for the BlueAnt).
Other bluetooth headsets in the past:
- Voyager 510: volume too low, no noise cancellation
- Voyager Pro: volume too low
- Motorola S305: good for music, no noise cancellation for the mic
I saw some ear buds at AT&T with a micro usb connection for $19. I might give them I try to see if I can get stereo when connecting to the Jawbone Era (I know you can with the Samsung Modus 6450). I'll have to do more research.
Good to know, been debating between these two. Been using the Jawbone Icon as well as the Blueant Q1.
As far as the headphones goes, I'm listening with my Jawbone Era connected via bluetooth and a circumaural (closed ear) headphones on top of the Jawbone. Sound quality sounds terrific despite having my Jawbone on.
When music is on, the music plays through stereo headphones if they're plugged into the stereo jack. Otherwise the plays through the Jawbone. On a call, the Evo stops the music and only audio is heard through the Jawbone.
Haven't run into accidental misdials with the stereo headphones on. On a call though, the stereo headphones presses the Jawbone into my face, so listening to the other caller sounds slightly muffled until I take off the stereo headphones.
So I have a pair of Anker earbuds (which I can use to make calls) which connect first time, every time and work flawlessly. I use them out and about & when travelling to listen to podcasts etc on the phone.
But around the house, I prefer a simple mono bluetooth headset I can quickly pop in my ear and still have one ear free (and not have to mess around with wires between the buds). I had a Jabra Mini, which I just returned. Most times when I switched on the headset, it just wouldn't connect. If it did connect, sometimes the mic just wasn't working and the other party couldn't hear anything and would hang up. And if it did connect and they could hear me, often as not there would be massive interference, bad enough that the call needed to be ended and I'd have to switch off the headset and use the phone speaker and call again.
So I returned it and got a Jabra Stealth yesterday. It paired straight off and a call to a friend was marked as "flawless". Then today, I turned on the headset and it simply wouldn't connect. I reset the headset - then it wouldn't pair. Restarted headset and phone, and managed to pair them. Made a call and all was well. Except this is exactly how things started with the Mini...
So has anyone else had success with Jabra? (I stuck with Jabra as they're so well regarded in the UK). And can anyone recommend a decent headset that they have found works with the Pixel 2? My price range is around £40 ($60 or so) and I'm in the UK. (I wish Anker did a mono headset.. )
Thanks in advance!
