I have only done this on custom TouchWiz roms, so not sure if it works on other roms. It's pretty easy, you must have Titanium Backup and Root Explorer(or similar).
1. Open Titanium Backup and find Google Search 3.5.16.1262550.arm(or whatever version you have). Convert it to a System App.
2. Open Root Explorer and go to /system/app/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.apk and move it to /system/priv-app/
3. Reboot ur phone and you should be able to see the settings to enable OK Google on any screen in the Google Search Settings.

I was excited for these features too! They're convenient for calling people in the car without having to touch your phone. I usually have it plugged in so I can take advantage of the free streaming from T-mobile.

Yes, you can use xposed with any rom.

Did you do the T-mobile update from yesterday? If so toggle multi window on in Settings--->Display. If you've done that then hold down your back button for a couple seconds the multi window should pop up at the left. You can hold back to hide it again.

Updated the subject. As the post above states, you need to be running the newest update.
This situation is an excellent example of why the xposed framework is such a great way to mod.
Had this been a standard flash patch, you would likely have force closes, or worse a soft brick.
With xposed, those problems are a thing of the past. If it can't hook the mod in, nothing happens (just as you are seeing). Hopefully in a future release there will be some indicator if a mod cant be hooked in.

Are there any draw backs to this mod? I was reading the original Exploit apk post and some are talking about a green camera screen.

If you just root through the app you'll be fine. The green camera screen happens when you check the boxes to actually disable the exploit.

Can someone please answer this? I don't want to get this mod and have every single app of mine show up on the multi window list, I just want a certain selection of apps
edit: nevermind, I installed it and you get to choose the apps to add to the list if anyone is wondering. They don't all just show up on the bar, you get a list of yours app and you edit the bar to choose what you want to add
Maybe you misunderstood him? All apps will only show when you click on edit. From that edit screen, you can then drag specific apps over to the multiview bar. After you're done editing, only apps you dragged over will show on the bar.
So two different things here: edit screen and the bar itself.

1. Yes, once you're rooted, you can use apps that request root like SetCPU, Titanium Backup, AdAway, etc.
2. Yes, if you're on stock rom and recovery, you just go to SuperSu > Settings > Full Unroot.

Remember to uncheck the disable exploit boxes before unrooting, or you won't be able to re-root using the exploit.
Has anyone successfully disabled this thing? I really don't need it and don't want to download it as it's 30mb, and want it removed from my apps in the play store.
Would be nice for there to be a 'hide update' feature.

it is in the /system/app dir. file names are FWUpgrade.apk and FWUpgrade.odex just remove those and it won't show up in market anymore

Thanx ! Found those files, but using ASTRO file manager I seem not to be able to delete those files ...
My Galaxy SIII is unrooted, could that perhaps be the problem?
If u eant it to be disabled I can probably help u with that.
Just go to settings---->applications manager-----> select the app u want to disable...
Remeber first clear cache, then clear data, force stop, disable, or uninstall

Thanks for that, but this particular thing does not let itself become disabled, the option is greyed-out. Here and on other sites I read that indeed the only way to have it NOT trun up in Google Play constantly is to remove the FWUpgrade.apk.
But I am afraid I cannot do that without root-access, unless someone has a work-around?
Yea ull need root. It's easy to root, just flash an already rooted stock Rom with Odin.

No root (unrooted) = no way to disable. There is no other way around it. This is true of several third party apps on stock ROM.

I'm having the Allshare Cast dongle issue. I want to get rid of it, but can't. Is there now a solution?

Backup your data, full wipe, reflash a stock rom. Unless someone can get you a stock titaniumbackup for the apk (which I dont even know is possible) you are out of luck I believe.
Another thing to check is to open up a stock rom's system/app folder on your computer and find the settings apk, maybe you can copy and past it into your directory with a file manager (es file manager if you need one). I've got nothing better to do right now so I will try it.
Edit: Too many settings apks. You've got to find the missing one

If youre running the hacked method to get it to work (Tmobile users)then do not update the app.
I just finished installing the new Wallet app. This isnt directly downloaded from the PlayStore. Im testing a .zip from a developer.
The new Setup is kinda wierd and im not sure if tap and pay is the same as before or if I have to choose a default card for it to work. Will report results after I make a successful transaction.
Im sure the developet will create a thread when bugs are fixed.

thanks for guinea-pigging this for us. I hope the new .zip version works well. I'd really like to run the most current version and have the added functionality. at present, I have the old nfc enabled version on my note 2 and the current, but non nfc enabled version on my tablet and old phone. It would be nice to be able to run the current version with NFC.

Heres what happened. I tried to make a purchase earlier this morning at 7-11 and it didnt work. From what the developer and I briefly discussed is that the modified NFC files might be the culprit. What I suggest that you can do is restore the factory NFC files and install the Wallet app directly from the PlayStore and test that way.
I dont have a copy of my factory NFC files anymore and dont want to odin back so im just waiting. As of right now im using the previous Wallet app.

I installed the new app on my note 2 after updating the rom so i didn't have the cracked version anymore (yes i reset google wallet app first) With the updated app loaded, i looked through settings and it said tap to pay wasn't available, so after configuring the rest of my new rom (jedi master 17) I reinstalled the cracked version and (i havent tried it yet, but it loos the same as ever) nfc tap to pay should work again, just still on that oudated GW app. Fingers crossed one of the brainiacs at modaco will release an updated cracked version.
Go to the Note2 Themes & Apps Section. There is a new flashable .zip .
Few things you should do first.
1. Turn Off NFC & S-Beam.
2. Clear Google Wallet Data and Cache
3. Flash the New .zip
4. Check to see if Tap and Pay is active.

IT work just fine:good: but if you're a heavy S-pen user like me then i say don't install as you will lose S-pen functionality. Because your Note-2 will show as the (Nexus)

Thats only in the app. My build.prop and About Phone shows the proper name. And my S-Pen functions fine.

My Mobile Hotspot force closes upon enabling it. Can anyone confirm? Other than that, smooth like butter.
Can confirm. Hot spot FCs on trying to activate. Must've removed something necessary for it. Otherwise I love how light this rom is.
EDIT: I have jovy23's original rom on my phone. If anyone has any idea what app I'd have to reinstall to get the hotspot working again I'll grab it from there, put it into system/priv-app, change the permissions, and reboot to see if it works.
Ill fix up the hotspot today.

I really like this rom. Two things though. Can anyone tell me what files I need to restore to get the Samsung Browser working and the Smart Select for the S-Pen? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

really slimmed down thats how phones should come out of the box + the weather widget. I want the weather widget back, tried installing the app from another rom but it does not work properly.

I restored the files myself. I used good old fashioned google searching to figure out which files needed to be restored. But I'm glad the rom was built without them. I prefer how slim the rom is and what I wanted may not be what others wanted or needed.

I noticed that the dev of this rom also removed the libs along with the apps. You may need to find out if there're some missing lib files to s-health. At least that was the case when I added back the sbrowser.
How to re-enable smart select, the galaxy app store, tethering, and Samsung account.
This is how I got everything working. For smart select you grab Pinboard.apk from another rom (I grabbed everything from jovy23's original stock deodexed rom), place it in system/priv-app and change it's permissions to match the other apks there. I used ES file explorer for this with root explorer on and changing the system option to R/W (Tap on root explorer after turning it on to change this option). For the galaxy app store grab GalaxyApps_3xh.apk place it in the system/priv-app folder and change its permissions like before. Theres also a apk called SamsungAppsWidget_BannerStyle_common.apk which goes in system/app but I'm unsure if it's neccesary. If you are adding it just remember to change its permissions. For mobile Hotspot grab TetheringAutomation.apk and TetheringProvision.apk place them in system/app and change permissions. For the Samsung Account grab Samsungservice2_xxhdpi_RTL.apk place it in system/priv-app and change permissions. You are able to log in to the galaxy app store without this but it is necessary to get full access to your samsung accounts synching capabilities, like with s-health for example. Let me know if you need help with anything.
