I've searched Amazon and this forum but haven't seen what I'm looking for yet.
I'd like to buy a dock that has the standard micro-USB but also has a 3.5mm audio jack output and the ability to charge a spare battery. Has anyone seen something like this?
I've found docks that do one or the other, but not both.
Also needs to work with a phone case.
Hi,
I apologize if this has already been discussed.
I just brought a TYLT Vu wireless charger. It is a very nice product, but with one major drawback that really put me off.
It doesn't have a microUSB port. Main reason I wanted that is to use it with my car charger. Is there an adapter that'll allow me to do that? It doesn't make sense to spend $30 on a car inverter.
Otherwise, from the official website, it says it needs Input: 12V / 750mA.
I know that the car batteries give a little over 12V. Can we somehow take direct input from that? Like cutting the provided charger and soldering the pin directly to the 12V car input? Will that work? What are the concerns/issues/problems with this?
BTW, the small pin type adapter, is it the same as old nokia adapter? I have one lying around somewhere. I can search by tonight, but if someone can confirm it before that, that'll be helpful. I can just cut the wires from that and not damage my original adapter.
Just received my Pixel 3 XL yesterday and I didn't really think about the ramifications of it being USB-C. I don't have a single USB-C accessory so I have to replace my car charger. In addition to that, the USB-C cable that came with the device isn't long enough to reach from the floor to my bedside table, much less my hands while I'm in bed so I need a replacement for that too. Also have no way of connecting it to my PC at the moment so I need that too.
So I was reading up on the way the Pixel 3 charging works, and it looks like it uses the "Power Delivery" standard and tops out at 18w on chargers only made by google, is that correct?
If that's the case, what do we do in the case of a car charger, since they don't make one?
Can we use any USB-C to USB-C cable with the original wall charger and not have brand related charging issues?
Do I need a USB-3.1 spec USB-C to USB-A cable for full speed file transfers to my PC?
Not interested in wireless charging, just need the cheapest, fastest possible options.
Thanks everyone!

Over in the Accessories forum you will see a thread on car chargers.
Meagoes and Aukey both have car chargers with PD connections. The Meagoes kit includes a USB-C to USB-C cable. I prefer the Aukey car adapter with my own USB-C to USB-C cable because it does not have the bright LED which I found distracting.

Ahhh I didn't scroll down far enough... Accessory forums used to be near the top of the list so when I got to the development forums I assumed XDA phased accessory forums out, haha. Oh well.
I appreciate the advice, I'm getting the Meagoes because of the price, and because I installed an aux port inside my dashboard for car chargers because I hate the lights on them too.
I received a Choetech charger in exchange for posting this review. The charger sells on Amazon for $34.99. I have used it for a few days and came to the following conclusion.
Pros
Universal ball socket that connected to my existing Pro-clips base
Comes with a vent mount
USB-C port for the wireless charger - allows me to directly charge the phone, if needed
Cool mechanics to allow for one-handed docking/undocking
Includes a USB-A to USB-C cable. I used USB-C to USB-C with a PD charger.
Cons
Maxs out at 500mA like all the other non-Google OEM chargers
Requires a car charger for the 12V cig lighter.
A bit bulky
Happy to answer any other questions.

Can you show pics of the unit installed?
Also, does the phone get hot while charging, with screen on while navigating?
Finally, does the charger provide enough juice to charge the phone in the situation above?

Here are some pics. Charging seems to keep up with streaming audio and running GPS. Power stay flat. It does not go up or down while these apps are running and the phone is charging. Temp seems fine.
Need to continue testing on a longer trip.
Took a longer drive today. Power was flat while charging and playing a podcast and running waze.
Not crazy about how the bracket pushes against the volume rocker. See 3rd pic above.
Will use this until there is a wireless car charger that is google certified and can deliver at least 1.5 amps.
Update on this charger after a month of use.
I was able to raise the bottom bracket to keep the side grips from hitting the volume buttons.
I can install and remove the phone from the charger with one hand.
Even though I only get about 500 mA of charging, that has been enough to keep the phone battery flat while streaming audio and running GPS/Waze.
I am still hoping to see car chargers that are designed for Google and deliver more power.

Thanks for the update!
I was able to get 850mA using the Choetech wireless charger and this app on my rooted phone, https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/themes/root-faster-wireless-charging-using-t3900643
Now I can top off my battery when streaming audio and running Waze!
Highest possible wattage for wireless car charger? All I see is 10watt. No 15watt+?
All the wireless car chargers seems to only have 10watt for Notes, looks like 15watt for LG phones. samsung makes a 15watt wireless chargers stand so thought this would be possible for car chargers.
has anybody seen a wireless car charger that will charge a note 10 with more than 10watts?
thanks in advance

well the charger is 20watts, but it won't charge the note 10 at 20watts
so 52$ to do what a $15 charger can do
