Use root app delete apk to delete hangouts and other system apks.
Other way to free up your internal sd card is to tell your mobile to store internet cache, phone logs, messages, Bluetooth temp dukes and other clutter to save on external sdcard. The way to do it is via settings - storage - storage settings - update all and change the option to external sd card.
Hit thanks if I helped you.

Can we set the storage for whatsapp media file straight to ext sd card by default?

[Q] Increase storage after removing apps via root

Hi Everyone,
I just rooted my device and deleted some unwanted branded apps from my device use adb rm command, however my internal storage has not increase?
All the apps are gone and do not show up in in any file manager but my storage space is still low? Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks in advance

yes the apps that come with the device are stored on the system partition, as an out of the box desire dosent have r/w access to /system/, this portion is not a useable memory, only apps stored on the data partition with affect your device space, you can also see how much space has been free'd in \system\ by using quick system info from the market
So what would be the best Method to increase storage for apps? i keep getting low storage warnings!

You can try to use A2SD or any other app to transfer the instaled apps to the SD or another partition.
Use ROM Manager from app store to partition ur SD card. I was running out of internal storage, after doing this I have over 100mb internal space free...
Don't forget to backup ur SD card first!

Some apps look for percentage available instead of MB available or some nonsense.
Could also be that it needs to install some secured data, and that's going into a place you don't have enough space.
Also, if you had an app installed on external memory at some point, and you try to reinstall it, you'll get that error. Check your Application Manager for any apps that have the memory card icon on them. Those can cause problems.
Personally, I use Link2SD Plus, which requires an SD card. This allows you to move whole applications to a second partition of the SD card. Works well with the tab 3, and leaves me with lots of free space.
I'm assuming when you say ROM space free, you mean System partition space free? I only have about 9MB free on mine and it causes no problems.
Have had this issue on my phone before because the ROM itself locked the device as read-only, causing any app to give that error, and had to flash it again.
I had a bunch of unknown junk cluttering my user/data partition (they're the same physical area on the device), and had to wipe the "internal storage" and "data" from a custom recovery after backing up my data I cared about.
Hopefully this is informative, and hopefully someone else can be more helpful
Good luck to you

i dont know what it says but i think it means read-only memory, and my tablet has no recovery mode it only shows "downloading mode"
I don't know if this is a permanent solution but I noticed that I had no "OBB" file in "Android " on my "extsdcard". I created said file and moved all files from "OBB", "sdcard0" to new OBB file. I then started a program who's file I moved to new OBB and immediately closed. Then went back to original OBB to delete newly created file (double) for that app. Now all my apps download straight to extsdcard in the new OBB file. I can also move apps to SD card from app manager .
Let me know if it worked for you.

Xperia M has 4GB of internal memory but out of it only 2GB can be used by the user. This doesn't depend on whether your device is rooted or not.
Follow these steps for mounting SD card partition using link2sd:
1. Create an Ext4 partition in your microSD with "Mini Tool Partition Wizard" ( you can search tutorial in google)
2. Install Link2sd and create mount script (EXT4)
3. reboot
4. Open Link2sd and select apk > menu> Create link
5. Done
Never use MSC mode (USB Mass Storage) for connecting to PC!
This can mess up data your files. Use only MTP!
Settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connectivity > USB Connection mode > Media transfer mode (MTP)

Don't forget the attachment in the link.
Hope this helps.

Factory reset your phone and then follow the steps above after installing SuperSu
BACKUP YOUR DATA BEFORE DOING SO.

Titanium Backup and Temporary CWM not reading/writing to SD card

I started getting the error yesterday when I went into titanium backup to backup my apps before updating. It kept giving an error saying the SD card was out of free space. I formatted it, and reinstalled Titanium Backup but I still keep getting the error. When I select the backup location it says the SD card can't be written on. Temporary CWM also can't flash zip files off the SD card. It recognizes that it is seated, but selecting it just sends me back to the previous menu. But Spotify and the camera app have no issues reading/writing to the SD card. I'm using the 64GB Samsung pro sd card with a 16GB North American Zenfone.
For TiBu, try adding the media_rw line on external storage in permissions.
Posted using my phone.

Just checking, if it's rooted did you run the kitkat sd fix app in the playstore? It's a problem imposed by google as they don't want us using sd cards anymore...

No I didn't. Thanks for the suggestion it works now for Titanium Backup, I have tried temp CWM yet.
If you want to backup your apps on a SDCard with TB, You have to choose the backup directory. See pictures in attachement to proceed.
Sorry, my TB is in French but you can easily find the same repertory I guess
Step 1 : Go to "menu", then press "preferences"
Step 2 : Click to change the storage
Step 3 : Choose to storage with "DocumentProvider"
Step 4 : Choose the SD Card and the "TitaniumBackup" directory
Step 5 : Press "use the current folder", press "yes" when the popup appears.
Step 6 : Aaaaaaaaaaaand it's done !
It worked for me, all my apps are saved on the SDCard :good:

Regarding Internal Storage issue - Please help

hi guys,
please help me out.. i have no games installed on my device. only required few apps out of which most of them are moved to sd card. all my music/photos is on sd card. yet the internal storage space fills up very quicly and even i cant update my existing apps. an error crops up - not sufficient storage left.
I have to reformat my phone again and again to get storage space reclaimed.
I've been using Clean Master to free up space whenever I update anything.
Side note: looks like Titanium Backup can remove system apps now. Failed in the past, but I just uninstalled Bubbles.
Now if only I knew what was safe to remove and what wasn't.
If an app can be disabled normally, can one assume it's safe to uninstall?

Integrating system app updates doesn't work. Tried to integrate YouTube, and now it's completely gone. Crap

Root the device and uninstall all bloatware from system. also, with some effort, you can install Link2SD and move most apps and data to SD-card after Root.
