Hey there.
This is my second day with the tab s 8.4, and I'be noticed that my tablet has been awake all day, even while I was at work.
See the screen shot.
Do you have any experience with this or do you know of a way to identify the app keeping it awake?

I've got a small issue with my N7. Since I bought it, my display turns on periodically without touching it or hitting any of the buttons. It seems, that the time periods inbetween are always the same (e.g. today its always 24 minutes after a full hour when it turns on). It just displays the lock screen and turns off again.
Is there a possibility to find out which app or service is causing this? As far as I can observe, there are no notifications coming in which could potentially turn on the screen.
I'm on stock 4.3 and switched meanwhile from the stock kernel to that one by faux123 (problem occurs with both kernels)
Thanks for your help!
The screen does not turn off
The problem with my N7 Wi-Fi is that the screen does not turn off. On the Nexus 10, the screen turns off within a minute.
On phones and the Nexus 7, when plugged in, the screen never turns off. Many customers have been complaining that the screen turned off at unsuitable times, so I think Google went crazy with it.
On my Nexus 7, the display is turned on by incoming Sipdroid calls.
What you can do is to look at logcat, but it will cost you tons of time to figure it out.
It occurs to me while the tab is unplugged. Perhaps i check if it also occurs in flightmode. Then i could see if wifi or an other connection is the problem!

Hi friends, my new Nexus 7 2013 (Wifi+LTE) turns off automatically during night time though i've around 70-80% battery left. I know this is weird, but throughout daytime the device works fine in standby mode. Please help me, i've checked settings, but everything is same as my S4.
Searched the forum and did some google searches but only came up with one thread somewhere else that never went anywhere. This may be glitchy apps (although I have both on my Droid Maxx as well with no issues) but I thought I'd ask anyway.
So the problem is the tablet(SM-T700, Android 5.02) will seemingly go to sleep while actively using an app (so far it's common in 8 Ball Pool and has also happened during Beach Buggy). I don't know if it's app related or a setting somewhere. I have power saving modes turned off (as well as auto screen brightness). Anyone else experience this?
Well it may be a combination of the app not telling the screen to stay on (twitch app had this issue for about 3 days then it got an update) any you having the auto screen off timer set too short.
The permission used is under others and is called quite simply (prevent tablet sleeping). With out that mode set if you do not touch the screen in (insert screen shutoff timer length here) the tablet will turn the screen off to save power.
Thanks, I'll check that out. I'm going to run a few more apps and see if it happens with them also.
A quick search turns up the same question for different devices. Most the answers dealt with rooted devices, mine is not. The screen will fire up on its own, randomly. I do have Greenify and grant certain apps to close once the screen is off. That doesn't appear to be my issue. No apps are running (well, no apps that aren't system). It's a strange occurrence that drains battery because I have screen off set to 10 minutes. How do I determine what is triggering wakes? Anybody else notice this, I can't be the only one? Samsung issue or Android O/S issue?
My fiance has the same issue, mine doesn't. If you move the phone it wakes.
This is an issue with my note 3 running a note 7 rom (Yes, I know it's not a real note 7). The always on display used to work but recently when I turn off the screen, the clock shows for a few second before flickering and turning off. Is it because I updated the app or i accidentally changed a setting. I tried disabling keep screen turned off but it did not work.
Please help!!!
Are you certain that the Note 3's hardware supports AoD? Just because it is an AMOLED display doesn't mean you should assume it works
If you're certain, you can try re-flashing the ROM...
I'm running the note7 rom on my note 3 as well and opted to ditch the AoD screen. It might be just my phone being near death but it stays on in my pocket too. It's also a battery hog because it's completely different type of panel i believe. The fact my phone's knackered might be the reason i don't have your problem as maybe it's not trying to detect darkness and maybe ypurs is, albeit incorrectly due to incompatible hardware. Just a thought anyways.

The strange thing is that it works when i'm charging.
I found out what was wrong with the aod. Everytime i turn the screen off, the device will be put into deepsleep mode. So I acquired a wakelock and the cpu was kept running so the aod was shown. But I thought it might drain my battery so I set the maximum number of cores to be awake while screen off to 1.
