I hope someone can help me.
I bought an LG Pro E-988 which is already rooted and have a nightly CM11 installed.
I saw the LG Flex Rom and tried to install. I hit an error (Status 7), so I restored my back up. It booted correctly and decided to install/run the LG Recovery and Freegee apps as I suspected that the error (Status 7) was because I didn't install the apps before the LG Flex ROM.
After I run FreeGee, I restarted in recovery and tried to install the ROM but still same error (Status 7). So I decided to restore my back up again, but this time around, the boot is not pushing through. I'm stuck in the LG Logo.
Has anyone experienced this before and maybe you can help me to fix my phone.
I admit I got a bit excited rooting and flashing custom ROMs again after 1 year of hiatus.
Thanks in advance!!

Nothing to worry about. Here is a pinned post where you can find all the information you need.
Just download your kdz from here and follow the steps from this post
Download kdz, install lg flashtool, lg drivers, after turning off your phone, press volume up and down together and connect your usb cable to get into download mode, then follow those pictures in that post to flash the kdz. You will be back to stock.

Thanks a lot man :good:! Although, I'm stuck with 'Connection error' in the FlashTool. Is this normal? I tried again and again more than 20 times but I'm getting the same connection error.
Also, earlier I was still able to go to recovery, but now even if I press the power button it goes straight to the download mode.
Hope you can help again.
You cant get out of download mode? did you try volume down and power button together for 5 secs? And btw what error are u getting on flash tool? its not detecting your phone? Did you install the mobile drivers?

The error was in the LG Mobile Support Tool (sorry to in the Flash tool). During the upgrading of the phone it always give the error - 'Connection to server failed. Try again in a moment'
Also, if I try to turn on the phone it will not boot but go straight to download mode.

Did you remove the battery and put it back in? And it still goes to download mode? Try starting the phone pressing Volumedown+power key for sometime or you could try Volumeup+Homekey+Power to boot into recovery and try restoring backup or flashing some other rom and see if you can get out of boot. I really don't know why you are getting that connection problem. I got stuck at boot a couple of times and followed exactly what was given in that post and reverted back to stock. I guess some of the senior members will help you here. Meanwhile ill see if i can search a solution for that connection error, i haven't faced that yet so i really don't know the fix. There is a second TOT method given in that post, that might help.

Yup, i tried removing the battery. Also tried different key combos to boot but it all goes to the download mode, with the small with box in the middle.
I also tried the option of going straight to the LG mobile support tool (not the LG Flash tool). But the same server connectiom error.
Thanks again for the help.
Hope other members can help me too.
Since I'm not able to do recovery using the KDZ file. Can I use the TOT file?
I have E988 Singapore version, but the last ROM installed was with a CM11. And in the Phone details it shows E980.
Will it work or will it just make things worst?

Yeah, I read that also. I used a windows 8 pc previously, that might be causong the connection error. I will try my old pc and hopefully it will work.
Thank you!

the easy way to get back on your phone is doing the restore method using lgnpst tool..there are differents methods guides..
1)AutoLGNPST-tSilenzio.zip
2)LGNPST-PhantomPhreak53.zip
3)lgnpst-shelnutt.zip
so with these tools you can go back to v7 fool unroot and then update it to v8 and v9 ,just you want to make sure if your phone can get the download mode,,,for more information you can go to irc freenode guyz its is a private chat,,,and then ask them about the lgnpst tools link,im sure they will give you more information about it,,,they have the link for both software restore(v7 and v9 .tot files)if not i posted in general the v9 .tot file link, dont worry your phone still alive,i hope adb to push files directly to custom recovery it doesnt work so the easy and method way is restore it!!!

Accessing Recovery Screen (First Step if you have bricked your phone)
This is our initial step for any problems that might arise. If you can access recovery, usually you're in a perfectly fine situation.
1. Power off your phone by holding Volume down & power at the same time.
2. When the screen shuts off, switch to entering fastboot by holding Volume Up & Power. Release immediately once you see a black screen with some text on the bottom.
3. You should see a black screen with some text at the bottom.
4. Press volume down 2x and then the power button.
5. You should see either TWRP or CWM recovery.
6. Wipe Cache, Dalvic Cache, and Factory Wipe
7. Flash new stock zip. Wipe caches again.
8. Restart.

Well good new here for all that brick is that you can go to any sprint store and exchange it as a defective device, but please do all you cn to get it back into working order, simply because Sprint does not have an official rooting policy it simply states "if phone appears rooted , make a note and continue as normal"
Now be ready with the correct verbage as everything in the Sprint world is at managers discretion which simply means a manager can say no and you would have to take it to retention, no body wants this. So just be cool and tell them you did the OTA and this is what happened simple as that. If worse comes to worse just tell ask them to DHRP it since the phone is so new you will get a new 1 anyways.
BUT PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL US INCLUDING YOURSELF GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT AT RETURNING IT TO STOCK , IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE HIT UP SOME OF THE DEVS ON GTALK , Im sure one of them or I if I am home will do our best to walk you through it.
Hey all i forgot i posted this thread awhile ago sorry kinda just me n my bro went hard at work and finally fixed the phone and i found the probelm.. At the IRC at the time there were different versions of LGNPST i used the one directed to in the guide i used and that was the autoLGNPST and it was version 1.3 but it never recognized the device in download mode so my bro said it had to be a driver issue so im like ok we find a few drivers install just to make sure and at that point we knew that the computer was reconizing the phone because on ADB we can push a file through and i can install a ROM which i did but for some reason it never could install.. it was the lifeless ROM and dont worry i cleared everything but it never booted after that just kept booting into CWM. So im like ok i bring it to the sprint store the next day the Technician wasent there that day so i hada wait till the next day but that night i tried one more time 2 fix this thing and turns out that day the IRC puts up new files and it was a new version of autoLGNPST v2.2 or v2.3 i believe new DLLs and a new .bin file for ZV7 and the old ones were corrupt i used the new files a viola IT WORKED!! BUT... i cant for the life of me get a flippin ROM on here dont matter which ROM i try or if i use CWM or TWRP i cant get a ROM on always either the install fails or i install it and it reboots but just comes up with a blank screen after the LG logo and mind u i use the AiO tool on the forums to unlock the bootloader and root it and install TWRP or CWM and im on ZV8 when im installing them n ive tried many many times and i just wind up LGNPSTing it again backups never work either any help with this would be greatly appreciated

This is what my LGNPST does, it shows an error at 85% saying
"Process: Upgrade_Masterbin
"Subproc : Masterbin Donwload
Cause: Download Failed"
I did what you suggested (hold the power button until the phone powers on? rather powers off, right?) I am in donwload mode and tried taking out the battery and restarting into download mode and repeating the flashing process (unitl 85%) various times... always with the same error message as a result... what is the problem?

You managed to solve it
Hey Guys,
First post and i already got a problem because i messed up very much
I used to have Cyanogenmod 11 on my Optimus G, but i got several crashes and i wasnt completely fine with it so i wanted to try something new. So i updated my bootloader from CWM to TWRP and wanted to flash Artmod 5.2 Rom. I was a bit fast with my wiping, so i accidentally wiped the whole phone, so that everything was gone: Cyanogenmod, new Artmod rom i wanted to flash just everything.
I read a bit and thought it shouldnt be a problem then to just sideload the new rom, which i tried to do. I used adb sideload to put Artmod on the phone, everything was fine, flashing went through but i got stuck at the LG boot logo at the start of the phone. I waited like 30 minutes and nothing did change, so i thought something was not right.
I then just wanted to go back to cyanogenmod, tried to flash that through the adb sideload procedure but i got an error which said "error executing updater binary in zip 'tmp/sideload.zip'".
I was kinda thinking something really messed up so i tried to revert the phone to stock rom with the correct KDZ file i searched with the tool linked in the FAQ, everything downloaded but when i tried to flash the KDZ it gave me an error like this:
"12:03:59 Launching SW update
12:03:59 Unpacking KDZ
12:05:10 KDZ file extracted
12:05:11 Extract file error
12:05:13
===FINISH===="
So i searched the forums again and noticed that it should be a problem with the KDZ updater tool because the KDZ file was too big to get flashed properly. I wanted to try the LG Flash Tool 2014 then which is provided here in the forums and should work, it extracted the KDZ file, then opened the LG Mobile Support Tool to flash the file on the phone but there i start to get errors again, it either said that i am already on the correct up to date software version or that i need to disconnect the USB cable, remove the battery, insert it again, restart and try again.
I used several tools for that, i even tried it with an offline method that i found in a german forum, but every method got me the same errors, so i couldn't even go back to stock anymore.
I once tried to flash Cyanogenmod then again when i realized that the error message also told me "This Rom is for a "E975", this is a "GEE"" which i did not completely understand because it should be the total same? I edited the Updater-Script in the Zip file of the rom then and removed the part where it checks for that (1st line actually), then the rom did flash properly, phone started to boot (Cyanogenmod Boot Logo was shown) but when the boot was over i got the message:
"Type Password to Decrypt Storage" with a keyboard to enter the password. (I did never set up any password for that).
Now i am completely confused what i can do the recover my phone, either to stock or just to another rom, every method i tried did not work and i dont have any other ideas.
I can go into Fastboot, Recovery and Downloadmode, but when i tried to wipe again in Recovery it says that it cant mount my data mount point (probably because the storage is encrypted).
Somebody told me to do a hard reset with the keys "Volume down and power" which i tired several times, but everything i get is just the Google boot logo and then happens nothing or i get the Google logo, then the LG logo but after that i get stuck again, I cant seem to go into the "Hard Reset" menu which i should get into with that keys.
Anybody can help me what I could try or got a solution for this? I would be very thankful. I don't wanna loose my phone

Flash Tool 2014 works great for me every time, so try it again. Make sure you disconnect from the Internet before running it (yank out your LAN cable, or disable your WiFi), so it doesn't attempt to connect to LG servers. And don't forget to put your KDZ file in the same directory with the tool. It should go through just fine. That's by far the easiest method to revert back to stock, to get you to a clean starting point.

Umm... No, they are not the same. E975 is "geehrc", and there is no such OEM ID as "gee". There are many different OG variants. For the cross-reference between the models and OEM IDs, you can look here. Generally, you should stick to the ROMs that are designed for your model, unless you know exactly what you are doing, when trying to flash a ROM from a different platform.

Well i tried Flash Tool 2014 again and seem to get the same error that wants me to disconnects as it stops at the same position like it always did, also doesn't matter if I am connected to the internet or not, everytime it doesn't run through. This time I couldn't even read the stuff that was written in the LG Mobile Support tool because it only shows "????".
Heres a Screenshot:
The settings i made should be the right ones I think, the phone does get recognized by the computer when i plug it in because of the sound that windows makes.
I clearly dont't know what I can try anymore...
And according to the roms: well i only used roms for the E975, which is exactly my phone model, thats why i was wondering about that error message i got
Artmod is for E975, the CM11 was for E975, i even tried Mokee rom but i always got same error messages...
Nobody got another idea? I really am confused because if i can enter downloadmode and recovery there should be a way to get my phone back working.
Anybody knows where i can get maybe some older KDZ Files to go to 4.1.2 Stock rom and try to flash these?
problem

I don't know why you are seeing "???", but here is a couple of things regarding the settings, based on your screenshot:
1. Type should be CDMA (yours is 3GQCT).
2. PhoneMode should be DIAG (yours is CS_EMERGENCY).
3. I would suggest using CSE Flash for a full format (you are using Normal Flash).
Remember, this is a hacked tool, so the settings might not make perfect sense, comparing to the original ones. Just try following the instructions in the OP of the Flash Tool 2014 thread. Like I said, works every time for me...

I just tried the settings you told and used CSE Flash which worked out really well.

Anyway, thank you so so much! I appreciate your help! Thank you!

Glad to hear you are back in business. After flashing KDZ, the root is definitely gone, your BL is locked, and the recovery is stock. You will need to do all the necessary steps again: root, unlock the BL and flash custom recovery.
Hi all long time lurker in the forums made an account today just to make this post so here I go. I was doing the OTA update for lollipop at night and it was taking a really long time so I fell asleep. I woke up in the morning and found my phone to be stuck in a bootloop :crying: looking at various posts I figured a factory reset would be my best option but it didn't work in fact it made my phone worse....It stays on the LG boot up screen for a few minutes then goes to a black screen. I went back to looking at forums again and found a post about how flashing my phone would get it working again but problem is that my computer no longer recognizes my device and fails to connect. Another option I found was to use the system recovery mode and apply update from external sdcard but when I do this I get E: failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid argument). I've tried 2 sdcards and formatted them both multiple times but I still get the error. I'm not sure what to do and I am willing to try anything.

I've tried 2 sdcards and formatted them both multiple times but I still get the error. I'm not sure what to do and I am willing to try anything.

This is what you have to do.
1. Take the battery out
2. Put the battery back in (dont press power button)
3. Press vol up button and connect cable (without pressing power button)
This should lead you to download mode.
If you do get download mode then follow the procedure of LGFLASHTOOL and TOT back to stock
I suggest using ZV6 tot or ZV8 if you were already on LP.
Best of luck!
After flashing the device using the link (finally got it working) it does everything it needs to do but when it reboots on my phone screen is says Factory Reset Status then it has a giant 2 on the screen so I'm not sure where to go from here. In the flash tool at the end it says
Mini OS boot check....
Mini OS status=2
Fail to set mini OS status 3

You did a CSE Flash or a normal flash?
If I was you I would just reflash with the CSE Flash with another kdz, or if you use the TOT, download another one and try again..
If anything change let me know

Tried it with ZV4 and ZV8 so far getting the same thing. About to try it with ZV6 when it finishes downloading the zip.

Hey guys, I need your help!
I tried to make my long story short, but that didn't work, so here's my complete story:
When everything was fine, I had CM13 running with TWRP 2.8.5.0.
My first intention was to restore a Stock 4.4 Backup and update it to 5.x. After restoring it didn't boot, so I did a factory reset and it worked.
Next I wanted to update to 5.0 via OTA, but that ofc couldn't work because of TWRP.
I knew the only way to update to 5.x was to flash a .kdz an lose all data. I didn't want to do that, so instead I tried to flash the official 30B image from here.
I followed the instructions given in the first post (updated TWRP to 2.8.7.0 too), but after flashing the files and hitting the "reboot system" button in TWRP it booted into TWRP again. I tried flashing again because maybe something went wrong. I even downloaded all the files again to make sure I didn't have a bad download, but no luck. So I restored the previous CM13 6.0.1 rom. At first it didn't succeed because my internal memory was full, but after deleting the 30B files it restored just fine. So when it was ready I hit the reboot button aaaannd it booted into TWRP AGAIN...
I searched the internet and found a "LG_G3_Flash2FixStuckRecovery.zip" file, but that didn't help either. (I connected my G3 to my pc using MTP in TWRP to backup all important data, so I don't care if I need to wipe everything.)
Now I knew something went badly wrong and tried using the LG flashtool 2014 for .kdz and another one for .tot files to recover my G3.
Still no luck. When using the 2014 tool and the official 30B kdz it runs till 100% at my phone (at the same time it reaches 80% on my pc at the LG mobile support tool). But then it's only showing the LG logo for some seconds, screen black, lg logo, black, ... an infinite loop.
When using the .tot method I can't get past the "Model Information Check FAIL!" message. It looks like I lost my IMEI because it shows "IMEI: NULL". I got an EFS Backup in a zip file though, so it's not completely lost. I tried both methods on 2 different pc's with win 8.1 and 7 (and win10 for some things), but I always get the same results.
When turning it on using the power button, I see the LG logo followed by a black screen and again the LG logo.
When connecting it to the charger I at first see a charging screen, not the charging animation, but the "loading" battery screen you get before the animation. But after it I get stuck in the above mentioned LG logo.
It's possible to get to the factory reset screen, but I get to the LG logo again after "performing" a factory reset. Note: On the factory reset screen, there is a blue "part" on the top of the screen which looks different compared to when using CM13 and Stock 4.4. The blue color is darker, so I guess, I partly got 30B installed.
I didn't plan to write that much, but I think it's better because I described almost everything I did.
I have no idea what to do now, I tried everything I know and could find on the internet.
So I just hope someone is able to help me getting my G3 working again.
Many thanks!
tl;dr: Only download mode left, but can't succesfully flash any stock rom.
Now... what do u want.... ????
Downgrade from mm to lollipop.... right????
... I can help you... by teamview. Ok

I tried 21A .kdz and 10E or .tot. When using 21A kdz it gives an error. It tells me something like connect my phone again and try again. Only the 30B was kinda flashable.

You mean it's dead, completely? I thought having a download mode and seeing my G3 on my pc with a COM# port is better than seeing some QHBULK_9008 device or similar, where I need to open my G3, connect pins and some sh*t to recover it.

OK.... Now, you flash TOT again with TOT file.... but dont change file DLL you have....
Download... file DLL fix...
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0VrTZddvLF7b3Q1b1BlQ2w0clE/view?usp=sharing
Also don't forget: Maybe its because of your OS or even Setup (Hardware/Driver related). Even if it works seemingly at first glance.
That's my experience with all flashing tools that on some machines and setups there will happen some funny stuff and corrupt systems even if its reported to be working initially.
So if you didn't try yet use another PC/Laptop preferably with Windows 7 to 8.0 (only if you disabled driver signatures)
Edit: Also try different USB-Cables.

I already tried 2 PCs, one with 8.1 and another one with 7 (and 10). Both are giving almost the same result. Except the .kdz flash tool crashes on 8.1 at 99%.
I'm using the original USB cable.

Hello to all of you,
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I bought second hand a LG G4 H815 with CyanogenMod 14 already installed on it.
Everything was fine until I installed my Ebanking apps, that would not function with an unlocked bootloader. I needed to return to a clean factory safe state...
It was the second time I flashed a rom in my whole life, the first one was a Galaxy S plus years ago.
I followed all the instructions for the KDZ flash in this tutorial but I stumbled upon a "Upgrade stopped due to error" in LG flash tool.
I retried 3 or 4 times but with no luck. I verified that the ROM was correct for my model and it was. European and all...
I tried LGUP but my phone is unknown ( at least it's detected)...
I read some posts and told myself "I probably have messed up something, let's try it again with a fresh thing"... I clicked on the factory reset button and carried on.
There the phone booted on TWRP (That i didn't know existed before this). As I explored the menus with a TWRP google search on the computer, I began to realize that the factory reset was maybe a bad thing to do with a custom rom. I tried to reboot but I always end up booting on TWRP.
I re-tried to flash in download mode, but with always the "Upgrade stopped due to error".
I also tried to flash directly from TWRP a stock rom. Didn't work.
I was beginning to lose it and tried to flash the CM14 version I had before, juste to have a working phone again, but even this didn't work... I'm stuck with a TWRP phone
I need some help there...

uninstall any drive for g4 from pc and reinstall again and lgup. now reboot phone to download mode when lgup is open first check upgrade opsion and when open kdz check refurbish opsion and start. good luck
Thank you for your answer
Still no luck
Uninstalled drivers
Rebooted PC
Reinstalled the drivers
Still unknown device
The best way to flash stock image is to use official LG Bridge app. Download it, turn off your phone, connect it to PC while holding volume up button - phone will go into download mode. Then there is option for software restore in LG Bridge but i won't tell u where exactly. If it won't work i would try on another PC. If it won't work maybe you would be able to flash stock image trough send_command but i won't help you with it.
