For HD calling to work BOTH callers need to be on AMR-WB capable handsets, and depending on your provider, it may not work between other networks.
the htc desire 816 or any other htc running kitkat doesnt have a 3g calling feature .
all i want to do is 3g calling using my cellular network provider. and not over wifi or data .
any alternate solution is appreciated

Yes Xolo Q1010i supports 3G video calling.
don't know about other but Q1010i WORK SMOOTHLY

Are you sure it supports OPERATOR VIDEO CALLING?
I am not asking for skype calling. I am asking for network video calling.
I could not see any icon of video call on its dialer on net and I do not know anybody who own this phone.
XOLO has launched 8x-1000 & 8x-1200. Whether they will have operator video calling (OVC).
Their customer care has confirmed NOT ALL XOLO phone support OVC.
Samsung all phones support OVC.
For operator video calling, 3g should be on

Did anybody get VoLTE and WiFi calling running on Cricket? I'm on stock 21s and enabled VoLTE but never connects in HD. I don't see WiFi calling even as an option in the stock ROM.

VoLTE & WiFi calling are fine on T-Mobile, and possibly their MVNOs. VoLTE works on AT&T, not sure about WiFi calls. However it's possible that Cricket might not allow 3rd party phones to use those services, or maybe it needs to be provisioned by customer service.

We have a very bad network connection and I want to enable WiFi Calling in my Lenovo K8 Note . I live in India and I have a Jio network 4g sim which the company claims supports VoLTE and Wifi calling.
When I dial *#*#4636#*#* I can see the wifi calling provisioned as grayed out. I cannot change the settings. (see the attached screenshot)
I have also tried updating the following settings using ADB shell
settings put global wfc_ims_mode 2

But it doesn't work. I still didn't get any option to set WiFi calling in the settings.
