HTC One XT (S720t / T-SCDMA) - RUU, Custom ROM, Radio Stack

I have rooted my HTC One XT (S720t) to be at least allowed to do something with my device. China Mobile delivers the device totally locked up and hardly allows any useful software. Successfully installed Google market app but the ROM seems to have a feature to make sure it cannot be used (always crashed right after opening, others have also reported the same).
Unfortunately my company is bound to China Mobile so I was unable to buy a standard S720e if I want to enjoy 3G.
Rooting and and installing custom ROM was quite smooth and easy but it seems that the flashing the Android Revolution HD ROM has messed up my radio stack/baseband (at least within Android; bootloader still states the old correct radio stack).
I never had problems with the radio stack so I am quite new to this topic and have the following questions:
1. Do I have a problem or not?
2. I made a backup before flashing, will this also bring the radio stack back to normal? If yes, could I extract it from the backup and flash it manually via fastboot (device is rooted but S-ON)?
3. If 1 is not possible, can I flash the backup and then somehow dump the radio stack image?
4. Does anyone know where to get the shipped ROM for this device? S720t seems to be a very rare device and I cannot find anything. Have asked HTC but not sure if they will provide it to me to fix my device.
5. Does anyone know how to get this rubbbish China Mobile parallel market out of this phone and run the standard market (that would be already enough for me - I need Skype for my work). Full control for sure is always nicer.
Thanks for any comments...

Thanks, could you let me know why it will not work? Are the devices physically so different?
Have installed the ROM and everything looks fine besides the radio stack under Android stated as unknown. Bootloader states still the China Mobile radio stack (any idea how to backup this one so that I can flash back in case it is messed up?).
<Update>: Everything on the device works normally (also Wifi) BUT mobile is completely dead. After using recovery the old system is back but baseband still unknown and mobile network dead. So got myself a tablet for couch surfing now...

Finally managed to find the stock ROM, use the way described in the forum to get back to stock ROM and now everything is working again. Thanks, guys.
Main problem is, that the stock ROM phone is completely useless without apps. None of the apps that I have on my other phone are featured in the Chinese parallel market. No airline apps, no newsreaders, nothing. Just useless cute games and some standard apps and even the market application is in Chinese only.
A mighty phone - and nothing to do with it except listening to music, playing games and chatting. I am wondering how HTC can allow totally crippled phones like the S720t to be marketed. Crippled and no option to break out of the jail. Phone will go back to the shop tomorrow, even my Incredible S beats the S720t easily. This phone is a living brick.
i do have the same problem, could you help me, where you found stock kernel?
Sorry for the late reply, have been travelling...
I have downloaded a ROM from some Chinese filehosting websites (had to register first) and then got the file. Did a google check and cannot find my orginal DL-link anymore. Try to look for variations of ROM_ENDEAVOR_TD_ICS_40_HTCCN_CHS_CMCC_1.zip Can also upload the file somewhere; PM me how and then the phone can be brought back to original status again (check the stickies).
So far found no way to flash custom ROM (did not check for some weeks now). Easy solution to have access to software at least is to unlock the device and install the google app set manually, that will bring up the google market and that already made me happy.

I am in the same boat, i found this : http://bbs.gfan.com/mobile/android-4912638-1-1.html?extra=page%3D1%26amp%3Bfilter%3Dtype%26amp%3Btypeid%3D483
I initially tried to flash ARHD but it would not boot (bad boot.img i think), the ROM above works fine for now.
It is rooted and has Google Play.
If you flashed a wrong boot.img, that rom as the correct boot.img in the zip so you can extract and flash it.
Only downside is that it is slightly older (android 4.0.4, sense 4.0).
I will look for updates later as i just got the phone yesterday i haven't had time to properly look around.

Oh, thanks. That is actually the first custom ROM that I have seen.
Can you confirm that the radio stack is working/compatible?
I have Google Play installed now, just need to download the package and unzip it locally - but I would like to get rid off all this China Mobile rubbish and especially of their own app shop because it interferes with Google Play.
Might try that version later by myself (btw my original phone only came with Android 4.04. and Sense 4.0).

Yes all works fine and all the chinese crap is not there. only a Chinese webbrowser, but you can remove it and install what you want.
just before I installed the Rom I had the OTA which updates sense and the os, ARHD also has the updated software, but hopefully the guy will update the Rom soon .

This I understand but can't we just flash it with a different ROM from a different carrier? say UK ROM?
didnt he say he is running ARHD in the OP?
i didn't know this was released in china
is it confusing with all these different naming and devices for china?

Yes but he mentioned there was a problem with the radio stack/baseband therefore couldn't use his mobile.
From what I understand, the hardware for HTC One X and HTC One XT are pretty much the same. The only difference is the custom OS from each carrier.
So my question is, can I install any 1 of the custom ROMs from here for the One X on the One XT?
Any help would be great.
I think the HTC One XT uses another kind of mobile technology like SCDMA. Therefore, most ROMs here would work, but mobile wouldn't.

From what I understand, SCDMA is the Chinese variant of CDMA, and only works on China Mobile. You would have no luck trying to find a ROM here that supports SCDMA so try going on xda.cn

Currently in the process of download the ROM from the above link, which seems catered to the HTC XT model. I'll report back later.

Firmware 4.16.401.10 needed, can't find the right one!!

I have this:
modelid: 0P6B20000
cidnum: VZW__001 ( I did supercid this, but still no luck )
I am unlocked and s-off.
I can't for the life of me find a 4.16.401.10 firmware that will flash on my m8. I'm having a weird audio issue that I'm pretty sure is coming from running the latest firmware instead of the 401. (notification sounds get clipped down to a quick blip when/if they play...all other sounds are ok )
Does anyone have any ideas? I keep getting model id fail when I try to flash what I have. Seems almost everything I find is for modelid: 0P6B10000 and cidnum: HTC__001. (international, I think)
Thanks in advance!

Those checks are there for a reason. 401 firmware won't work on your phone. The Verizon variant supports CDMA in addition to GSM (most call it a "CDMA" variant, with the understanding that some GSM bands are supported as well); as opposed to most other M8 versions, which don't support CDMA and are generically called "GSM" versions.
Different radios and different partitioning. Even if you got it to flash, it either would cause major issues or even brick the phone. So be glad you failed.
So what would my options be for installing ROMS that need 401? Do I have some weird bastardized version of the M8?

Basically, yes. Unless you are located in the US and use Verizon as your carrier; you never should have bought this version IMO.
But if that version supports your carrier's 3G and 4G bands (as applicable) it will work fine; but there are limitations with ROMs and firmware.

First off, what is your current firmware (OS number on hboot screen)?
But for the VZN variant, it goes beyond just the firmware. Unless the ROM specifically supports the Verizon version, the ROM won't work without some modifications (kernel).
So your choices are either:
1) Flash ROMs that specifically support Verizon, or
2) Flash an "international" ROM, then flash a custom kernel or Verizon kernel. For details on this method, you can probably look in the Verizon M8 section.
Which version should I look for?

Which version of the M8? I'm not suggesting you get rid of what you have. But your ROM choice is either limited, or you need to do some tinkering to get "international" ROMs to work.
I'll get another m8, no problem there. I'm on Verizon, so what do I get?

Since VZN is your carrier, the VZN version of the M8 is what you want. If you switch to another version, it won't even work on VZN since they are a CDMA network (voice and 3G).
You are just subject to the ROM limitations I mentioned. Plus, you can't flash any other firmware beside VZN firmware.
I asked before (and you didn't answer) what is your current firmware (OS number in hboot)?
Sorry. 4.17.605.5

Your firmware is up to date (Lollipop). That's as good as you can hope on the VZN version, since you can't flash any other firmware.
I completely understand that, but now I'm back to what I've been searching like crazy for. 401 for VZW.

You've completely missed my point, and an extremely important one. No firmware for the "GSM" version of the M8 (including 401) is going to work on your VZN phone. If you try to flash a 401 firmware, and it passes signature checks you will probably brick the phone.
You can only flash 605 firmware on your phone, due to partition and radio differences. You are already on the Lollipop Verizon firmware (4.17.605), you need not mess with the firmware at all; and I suggest you stop trying to do so.
I assume you want a custom ROM. My recommendation is to pick one that explicitly states it supports the Verizon version.
My bad. Now I feel stupid. I was under the impression that they had the same firmware VERSION for different carriers. Sorry for the n00b questions.
I am running Viper and am having a weird audio issue (like I described in the first post) and it says on the ROM page that it's for the 401 firmware. This is from the Verizon forum, too. That's where my confusion is. If I could get the crazy notifications problem solved, I'd be done. It does the same thing on LeeDroid and IC as well. But I've been running the same 605 firmware the whole time. That's why I got to thinking I had the wrong firmware and that was possibly causing the issue.

Just a thought from me, have you tried flashing the stock Verizon RUU and checking if your sound problem still exists? It may be that the ROMs you are using are causing the problems with sound.

They have the same 4.xx version (Lollipop firmware) for each carrier.
But by definition, the 401 in the number 4.16.401 is actually a carrier specific number. Meaning 401 specifically and solely applies to the Euro unbranded CIDs. And 605 in 4.17.605 refers specifically to Verizon.
It a somewhat esoteric piece of knowledge, so you only know what you know; and its understandable if you misunderstood or misinterpreted.

Any Lollipop firmware is typically okay for the current ROMs, it doesn't actually need to be a specific number such as 4.16.401. So you might be misunderstanding that part. What they actually mean, is that you need to be on 4.xx firmware, not 3.xx, etc.
I'm not that familiar with the intricacies of running the ROMs on the VZN variant, since its kind of an oddball variant (as discussed). But I have a feeling that as long as you are sure you are on 4.17.605 firmware, the issue is with the kernel, AROMA options, audio mods, or some other similar issue not playing well with your VZN variant.
On that note, are you running any audio mods (like Harmon Kardon or Viper4Android) or just the stock Boomsound?

I think you're right. I have a pretty good feeling that the issue is the ROM, kernel, AROMA options or something of the sort (and not firmware) causing the issue.
Thanks for the explanation.
I'm definitely on the 605 firmware.
I switched back to the Adrenaline ROM. Fastest ROM I've ever used. No sound issues SO FAR, but he's also using Buck's kernel. I'm thinking that may be why? This ROM is running HK audio, not Boomsound. The others I used I left the default Boomsound on.
Either way, the battery life on this ROM is just insane. I'm going on 48 hours now, and I'm just now at 50%.
On a slightly different note.... I've been trying to find a way to disable calendar notifications on the lock screen only. This is pretty much all I could find. Is there another way? (only want to remove from the lock screen, not notification bar or sound.)
Problem solved! I installed Google calendar app and turned on its notifications, then turned off notifications on the default calendar app. Worked perfectly...I still get the notification sound and task bar reminder, but no lock screen alert. The Google app synced my exchange server email, Facebook, etc. Whew...I really didn't want to return this phone.

Hmm I'm downloading the TMO firmware from SamsungUpdate to start, but it's gonna take another 6 hours because of their metered connection -_-.
We'll see how that works out, but ideally I'd be 100% debloated and rooted with Samsung Pay working.
Don't think that'll be possible, but at least we're dealing with unlocked bootloader devices haha

Guys, the phone is running great!
Updating for the sake of updating isn't always a good thing when out of the box it's actually working well!
When a device has problems there are threads everywhere of complaints. When a device works things are quiet usually with just the usual how to question. Of course everyone wants root, when it comes it comes. Be patient!

I do not believe you have to do anything.
While yes, both are version 5.1.1, if you look at the last 4 digits of your firmware build number you should see AOGD. The new firmware build number ends in AOH2, showing this is a newer build date. Nothing major, probably just a few under the hood changes, which usually means a liitle better performance.

what about the root-ability?
If you are rooted on an older firmware, and you flash a stock rom via Odin you will lose your root access. So long as your phone model can be/is rooted on your current firmware, after you flash the newer firmware just follow the same steps to root your phone again.

Need help on Galaxy Note 2 N7105

Hi Guys,
I have switching roms in these few months. Recently, I tried to use back the stock rom N7105XXUFOB2. Everything went normal until I found 2 problems:
1. imei is blank with /01 when typing *#06#, but baseband was shown and I can still get the network. (My mistake for not backing up the efs folder)
2. GPS not found, tried with google map and waze but same issue. Tried with gps status also to no solution. (No satellite at all)
Then, I went for customs rom, GPS works and network works as per normal but with imei blank and baseband display. Anyone got idea on how to resolve it?
Appreciated if anyone can help.
Where did you get the stock ROM? Is that the latest stock ROM for the phone?
I found these stock ROMs: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?exact=1&q=GT-N7105

I have forgotten where I downloaded it. But definitely not sammobile as it requires user login.
Below is the version I use.
PDA/AP Version: N7105XXUFOB2
CSC Version: N7105OLBFOD1
MODEM/CP Version: N7105XXUFNI2
Region: Singapore (singtel)
Are you saying that the stock rom I am downloading is not genuine or somehow corrupted?
Is that possible that imei blank, baseband still around and mobile signal works as per normal? Because I am facing it. lol.
By the way, in 4.4.2, is there anyway to do screen mirroring to samsung tv? Firstly, it mentions 'Unable to Start Screen Mirroring because of Hardware Issues'. Then I checked online and edit build.prop file by adding in “wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable“. Then the hardware issue quote is gone but the tv screen is blank.
I would flash the latest stock ROM from updato.com.
I'm not sure how you can get any cell or data service from your carrier without success valid IMEI.

Ya, it is very weird. But just to confirm again. If I reflash the rom from the website you mentioned, Is that possible to fix the blank imei issue? I think it is going to be 50-50.
I have tried googled this issue, I found some said to change imei using mtk tool, does it apply to galaxy note 2 as it mentioned works for Mediatek devices and not sure about others?
Just a friendly reminder that XDA does not permit any discussions related to changing an IMEI.
Flashing the latest stock ROM will sometimes being back the IMEI.

Understood. I found the same rom in updato, just wonder why some roms with same android version but different pda version so late? (Eg, France (Orange) (FTM), N7105XXUFQH1, 4.4.2- 17 Sept 2017)
Is it just because the rom is being updated late in updato?
Different ROMs for different regions and carriers. Not all ROMs have the same languages too.

Understood and thanks for your explanation. For stock firmware, do you have problem doing screen mirroring to smart TV?
Unfortunately, I can't comment on mirroring because I haven't had a Samsung phone for a while.

Oh I see, never mind then.
The problem on the stock firmware is that manufacturer has already abandoned the phone. Therefore, many apps have been discontinued and that's why the screen mirroring is not working. But I trully love the stock camera app compared with custom rom. :crying:
Now I'm using custom rom and will continue monitoring first.
Anyway, thanks again.
I think the note 2 has decent hardware and could probably run 6.0 with no problem but Samsung would sell fewer phones

Ya, you are right. I am not using custom rom resurrection remix nougat version. The camera is not as smooth as the stock camera which is sad for me. My wife did complain to me that the phone with this rom was lagging, which led me to back to stock firmware.
But now I am back to same rom so far is ok, only that I need to make sure the phone can run smoothly and I will be happy to use it. Cheers.

Mi A2 lite keeps losing signal

Hi guys. I need your help
I bought this phone a year ago. It works fine at first, but then I'm not sure since when, the phone keeps losing signal and says "No service".
Network is up again when I restart the phone, but if I leave it for a while, it loses the signal and nobody can call me.
Is there anyway to solve this problem?

which version are you using, if it is A10 i have to say that is a bug not solved by the lazy xiaomi's devs
Best solution is to change to custom rom or return to android pie or oreo

How do I know which version my phone is?
Anyway, it's the bugged version it seems, so I guess I'm gonna downgrade it. Do you know where can I download the rom?
I found this site (xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/daisy/) but it's Miui rom, not the android one version
