can i use tot . files of D55 to flash F400s?? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can i use tot .and dll files of D55 32 gb to flash F400s??

I'm assuming you mean D855, and the answer is def NO, you may brick your device, hardware is not the same, only use TOT and KDZ files that are meant for YOUR model, never flash another version.

My AT&T E980 is now a F240L 30C. Im totally stuck in download mode. I tried using the Telcel Mexico E980 KDZ but the LG FlashTool 2014 keeps saying that its losing server connection and keeps deleting the mexico E980 KDZ at every try. I also tried the TOT for E980 AT&T but no luck, my phone is only read as an F240L 30C, so the flash tool wont flash my e980, i also tried using the universal dll but no use. PLEASE HELP ME OUT do0dz !!
If it show that you loose The connection then dont click "OK"!!! It flashes. Weit while your device reboot then you habe your e980 kdz flashed :3

TOT method makes strict check, KDZ method does not
e980 which is AT&T's model imply TOT method for flashing back the phone. During the process it checks SBL3, as I understand, for the model of the phone. If it doesn't match, you get this error. If you proceed with KDZ method (not AT&T's ROMs), LG Flash Tool 2014 is not checking a model of your phone. You will be able to flash a ROM, but your device will not be reported as AT&T's LGE980 and you may have an access to 16GB only of internal space (if the image is for 16GB model). This is, btw, the quickest way to get your phone back to life if it is bricked. After that you will still not be able to use TOT method because SBL3 is still not native to your phone.
For success with TOT method you have to replace SBL3 along with SBL2, SBL1, aboot, and (probably) rpm and tz partitions from AT&T image, because secure boot checks each next partition to be matching the current one. You can take their images from extracted TOT file and use dd command from custom recovery or rooted Android system.
WARNING: it is quite dangerous to get a hard brick, so do it at your own risk and only if you understand what you are doing.

Hi I just found a solution to these problems that is much simpler than this. I have an att E980, and I wanted to see if I could get the sim to work on the stock lollipop kdz version only to discover that I could not, and was stuck from flashing back using TOT method, well I found a method to get back to a version of e980 in order to use the TOT method, I am working a full in depth tutorial post for it but long story short is if you flash the wrong version all you need to do is download the panama E980h kdz where all the other modem files are located here, http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/E980H/ | flash it using the lg 2014 flash tools. Then you will be able to use any e980 tot file again to flash, I just restored my phone back to stock with no model error issue.

Are you flashing a KDZ or TOT? If KDZ you don't need to touch these files.

Put your imei at the end of this link http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
If it shows up your device information, go down to the SW part and click on the link and it should download the KDZ for your device. Then use the stock guide to flash it back to stock (takes 5 mins).

And according with all stamps and the imei the phone is F400L but on the settings of the device it is as F400K. Do you know if this is normal? I tried install the TOT of the F400L and it doesnt worked.
Thanks

Tot or Kdz?

I want to clean wipe my lg g3 and install stock firmware. The two methods I discovered was kdz method and tot method. Are these two methods the best or are there other ways I don't know about? What's the difference between these two methods and which should I use to wipe everything off my phone to make it as if it was new from the factory?
You should use kdz as there are no tot files for the latest firmwares.

After some reading(I may be wrong, if someone knows better, correct me.)
tot files requires a dll file to be flashed.
tot files are released for upgrades that can't be downgraded. This makes sense for me as all tot files are from KK, there are no LP and MM tot files.
I never used lg flash tool 2014, only LGUP with kdz files and it works without issues.

Sorry this is confusing. KK is a downgrade from LP and MM. What do you mean by "tot files are released for upgrades that can't be downgraded." LG flash tool is easier.

I mean there are tot files for the first KK update, you can't downgrade lower than that, because that is the first one. This is my thoughts, I may be completely wrong here [emoji3]
is there any available file of kdz nougat version? im looking forward to upgrade my lg g3 korean version i have already 6.0 as of now there is no issue or bug from it

LMG820UM Problems

I have the LG G8 from Verizon. About a year ago I was trying to root it and got so frustrated with it that I ended up deleting all the partitions on. So bad that all it can do is go into edl mode. Well today I downloaded the chinese kdz tools and I've used it to extract I think dz to dz. I don't know what to do with the G82010g_00_VZW_US_0918_img file it made. Please somebody help me get my phone back to working.

So, bad situation, as you know. Follow this link to a windows based kdz extractor tool.
Hopefully that will extract your vzw kdz. If so, flash abl, boot, laf and dtbo partitions to both slots using edl. That should give you download mode so you can use lgup to refurbish the vzw kdz.
I've never had to do this, so not sure what the result will be. Since you deleted all partitions, I don't know if they will be 'rebuilt' completely, with imei etc. But at this point, you've nothing to lose.
good luck

you said you deleted all partitions didn't you? How did you do that? It was edl mode and qfil wasn't it? As that's what's in guides section to root device.
that's what you use. Except this time, don't make the same mistake. This time, follow the guide to and flash partitions.
there are no other ways.
Yea but they were already there in the partition manager
