hello, ok so i have been having a lot of problems with my phone here recently and i got most of them fixed. it started with me not being able to send or receive texts/calls/ or any data. i couldnt turn on my mobile data without roaming and my wifi just wouldnt even turn on. now i got everything working except the wifi. i cannot get the wifi to turn on no matter what i do. i am currently running android revolution hd 10.2 and have tried several other roms like venom (or viper i forgot what its called) and cannot get it, i have also deleted all my caches when installing these roms. any ideas?

I have flashed to CMod 7 nightly 8 yesterday, to try out Gingerbread, and after several glitches at the start (apparently I had to restart once to get the wifi to work at all), I managed to activate the phone, and started downloading all my apps (thanks for app-brain that kept all my apps listed and ready).
At around noon yesterday, my wifi got disconnected, and it can't seem to get connected again - it just stays stuck on "Obtaining IP Address..." for a long while, before finally giving up and listing my network as "Disabled".
At first, I thought it was something wrong with the wifi in my office, but the same thing happened to me at home in the evening, and keeps on happening to me here now.
I reverted back to factory setting (deleting all my hard-installed apps), hoping it will work again, but no luck. Still can't get connected to the network. Just now I also removed the wireless security of my network completely, and it is still not working.
I switched radios between
2010-12-21 - Radio_12.35a.60.140f_26.04.03.30_M
2011-01-04 - Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF (currently on the DHD)
2011-02-25 - Radio_12.28g.60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3
and there was no difference.
I am now thinking maybe I should do a rom manager restore, to see how it works on the old (stock) rom.
Any tips from anyone here?
It's a bug in the rom. Use rc1 that works fine.

Have you updated BusyBox? I recently updated to 1.18.3 and it broke root & WiFi.
Yeah, coming to think of it, I did install busybox just before the trouble started.
Now I am back on stock rom. I must admit that I find the look and feel of the Sense UI much more pleasing than the Cyanogen's... But maybe it's just a question of getting used to it.
I recently rooted my Evo and put CM7 nightly 12 on it. All was well, I even installed the Savaged Zen kernel. Even better. Just yesterday I updated to CM7 RC2 to give it a shot. Today I went to work and had to drive to a remote area where I don't get service, so I put my Evo in airplane mode to save battery life. (this was after having it overheat while charging, could be a hardware issue) At the end of the day I turned the 3G radio back on and nothing... It connects and disconnects to the tower. It will not send data and it will not place phone calls on the 3G connection (WiFi works). I did a restore back to nightly 12 to see if maybe it was a problem with the OS. Nothing. A few hours ago it began functioning again, but after checking it a few minutes ago I have discovered it is back to no connection. (the signal bars bounce between nothing and full, but never shows the X for no signal) Has anyone else had an issue like this? Should I restore back to sense and unroot to take advantage of my warranty? If this has already been posted before please direct me to the right thread.
I'm having the same problem. I installed Cyanogen RC 2 and had no problem since it came out. I went on vacation to a beach, and during my trip I switched it on to airplane mode since I was in a remote location. After turning it back on, I noticed I can't get the Data Connection to work. The 3g bar doesn't even show up, and after messing with the settings trying to fix the problem I managed to do nothing. I tried using a backup I made from a week past, and encountered the same problem. Then I flashed the newest nightly and still no Data whatsoever. Wifi works fine, and 4g is acting weird but I got it to work a few times. Does this have something to do with sprint?
I think it is the same as the 4G 3G hang. I typically get it while tethering and the phone is normaly quite warm.
So I managed to fix the problem. I ended up flashing Koni's Elite Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941055
I got an error that said "Error 67 registration failure"
I updated my profile and it was automatically fixed. I'm not aware you can do this on cyanogen stock rom, but I think you can dial a number that will do this for you.
After getting the 3g to work again, I flashed back to the stock cyanogen, and it is still working. So for now im good to go.
I do think is sprint and not the rom because I did a restore to warm z and was still having the same problems. Also my brother's evo was doing the same thing and he doesnt have cm7 on it.
I figured it was something to do with the profile... I restored all the way back to sense and attempted to update profile, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I will try that ROM and see if it does anything. Why can't they just make this easy and allow updating of vital software that allows the radios to work on WiFi or from SDcard? This is dumb.
I tried that ROM and nothing works. Not really sure what to do. I might have to restore to Sense and unroot to take it back... I really want to avoid that if at all possible.
Unrooted my phone and getting a free replacement from Sprint. Still unsure of the problem, seems to work randomly.

I also have the same problem. No 3g data, gps, and 4g is acting weird.
I also had the same registration error number 67. My question is, how do you update your profile?
I've rooted my Desire and it's running MIUI at the moment. This has happened before, but I've only just decided to come here. I reflashed the stock ROM (with Sense) and the issue is gone.
Basically, when I turn on the phone, it either doesn't connect to my cell network at all (no calls, text, etc.) or it takes a long time to do so. Then, when it does manage to connect, I don't get a data internet connection. When I first flash the ROM, it works fine, but then the next time I turn it on (or in the current case, I didn't even turn it off, it just happened where I lost my data connection). Has this happened to anyone else, and what could be causing this issue?
Note: I believe it also happened with CyanogenMod, but I haven't tried in a few months so I can't confirm a recent version.
What's your radio version? because that can also be the reason why it isn't connecting that well ;o
So my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2X. Specifically, it's the Telus variant, the T989D, but I was told that this forum is where I should ask about it.
Basically, my wifi stopped working for some reason a while ago. I got it early in January, and the wifi was working initially, but eventually stopped for some reason. I tried rooting it and upgrading it to ICS, and the wifi began to work sometimes, but it was hard to tell what I could do to trigger it working. I think it had something to do with toggling various power saving settings.
Anyway, I've tried basically everything to get the wifi working. I've tried dialing those test codes, like *#*#526*#*#, and those didn't work. I've tried flashing various custom and stock roms, being rooted and unrooted, flashing kernels, flashing the radio, etc, and I haven't been able to fix it.
Right now, I've restored back to 2.3.5, and when I try to turn the Wi-Fi on, it says "Turning on..." for a few moments before saying "Error." When I was on ICS, it would just try to turn on for a while before turning itself back off, no error message. When I was on a JB AOKP rom, it just had the wifi switch greyed out entirely.
Does anybody have some kind of solution to this?
Bumping and providing an update. Last night, I flashed AOKP, and the Wi-Fi worked, for a while. After about 15 minutes of use, the Wi-Fi would refuse to connect to my router. Restarting would fix this.
This morning, the Wi-Fi is no longer working, even after flashing AOKP again.
Are you using the tlle4 radio? Only one that works well for me anyway.
Sure its not your router? Going bad or its settings? Try a friends router...someone who uses their phone on their wifi. Using the tlle4 radio when you try.
Sent from my cell phone telephone....
Doesn't sound to me like it's the router...sounds like a defective phone.
Are you under warranty?

Hello all!
I am having constant data issues all day where I go to use an app that needs it, it says that no data connection can be found or something. I turn the radio off, turn it back on and then it works. It's a good work-around but it does get very annoying. I've tried multiple 4.4.2 roms but no avail. I tried a different kernel but I couldn't even use the phone. Any ideas?
Same for me; I'm rooted now but it happened before root and after the JB ota updates. Annoying but otherwise I love this phone
I think this has been a known issue since ICS (I could be wrong though).
If anyone knows a fix that would be cool (I have GSM google play gnex)
My issues started late last night, lost data connection and it didn't come back. On my way home, it connected then lost again at home. Went to Verizon today and they couldn't figure it out, said possibly the radio is taking a crap.
On my way to work, it connects then gone. I tried flashing the radio, pulled battery, booted without sim, formatted cache and delvic. I have tried everything and think it's the end of the line for it
I've been rooted since the day I got it and had the issue once a while back but it straightened out and has been great since.
Certain CyanogenMod ROMs have trouble with the Network Modes sticking. Which carrier are you using? For my carrier, I had to have the correct APNs set to get 4G and MMS working. It might be that this is the problem in most cases, especially when the phone switches between 4G and 3G in spotty areas.
