[Q] Queue background data - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anyone know whether we are able to alter the send interval? By default, the queue is emptied about every 15 minutes.
Thanks!

You can install ds batteey saver and set interval 1h for example with 1min activity.

wifi timeout

can somebody tell me how to increase timeout value - the settings menu goes up only to 5 mins.
Use your favorite registry editor and set HKLM\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms\HTCAutoOffTimeout to your desired timeout value (in milliseconds).
i've set that key to 900000 (15 mins), rebooted, but wifi still times out after a couple of minutes ...
Try the same trick with HKLM\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms\HTCPowerSaveTimeout. The first one is the timeout you set in the WLAN Settings tab; i.e. how long the WiFi should be on if it can't connect. This one should specify how long a connection can be inactive but still connected.
WiFi Always Active, Does not timeout
Is there a way to keep the wifi always on, even when you tap the power button to shut the screen off and lock the device? My phone doesn't have signal in the school I work in, so what I am trying to do is use a program like VeriChat for teachers and administrators to get ahold of me. We have wireless (802.11G) throughout the whole school. Battery life is not a concern to me becase I shut the wifi off when im not using it and I plan to have a spare battery to swap with the one I use while at work.
Any suggestions would be helpfull. Will the above reg hack work?

[REQ] Dynamic Service/Application config based on power state

I was wondering whether it's possible to change the Windows Mobile (registry/file) configuration, dependent on the power available to the device?
Ideally, I'm looking for something that for example will allow:
-When power level >90%, check Email every 5 minutes
-when power level between 60% and 90%, check Email every hour
-when power level between 40% and 60%, check Email every 6 hours
The idea is, that when hooking up the mobile to the PC (or charger), it'll first charge to 100%, after which it will automatically check Email every 5 minutes.
The power values are just an example, it'd be cool if the application were customizable and would not just pertain to the Email send/receive schedule. For instance, Messenger applications could be closed automatically whenever the power is low.
Windows Mobile already features turning the screen on/off after a while, dependant on whether the phone is on an external power source. It'd be cool if these 'profiles' could be expanded to more beyond the display/backlight setting.
That would be possible, will look in to it later.
Having configuration may make it more difficult to do...
Would there happen to be some developments on this, by anyone?

[Q] Tasker on the SGSII a battery hog ?

Hi,
I stumbled onto Tasker as a very extensive program to control your phone.
I would like to use it to switch off my data connection when the screen is off in order to save battery
Yesterday I uninstalled Juice Defender which i wanted to use for this but this gave me more battery use then without.
Normal battery usage on KG6 + ninphetamine 2.05 when screen is off is 1% per 2 hours
Does anybody succesfully use tasker on the SGSII?
Is it possible to shutdown the data connection when the screen is off ?
What is the battery usage of this app ?
A lot of questions but I hope someone can help me to answers
Hi obionenairobi,
I use tasker not only to shut down the data connection when the screen is off...I also use it to toggle the data connection all 30 minutes (when the screen is off) to receive emails.
Also I let tasker kill all running progs when I turn off the screen and disable the vibrate function when it's connected to a charger.
There are endless possibilitys to use tasker! =)
And the best: it doesn't drain the battery
can share the profile/task?
Sorry...don't know how and for killing running processes u have to make it especially for your installed apps anyway...but:
U only need to create the event "Display off"...u add the task "Mobile Data off"
For the same event u make the second task...add apps-kill app-and then select every app u want to kill when the screen is turned off. (U have to make it for every app which is a little bit annoying...but I didn't find a way to make it faster)
Create a second event "screen unlocked" and add the task "Mobile data on"
For toggling the data on every 30 minutes:
Add the event "display off"...then add the task "mobile Data toggle"
The properties for this task u set to: Launched Task Priority: 6
Cooldown Time: 30 mins (then the data will be turned on every 30 minutes when the screen is off)
Limit Repeats UNCHECKED!
So...hope I could help you =)
Check WIKI on Tasker site

Yeah as one of the other posts said, it's relatively easy to set an EVENT for DISPLAY OFF which runs a TASK to turn Data and Wifi off (Action Category = NET > Mobile Data & NET > WiFi). If you're rooted and deperately want to overcome Googles changes to GPS control, you can download an app called Secure Settings which will allow you to also do the same for GPS via the Plugin Task Actions.
Alternatively, you can always try Green Power which I switched to recently as JuiceDefender has too many bugs in it with Android 2.3.3/2.3.4.

Anyone have these two bugs

On stock 4.0.4, 2.17.401.2:
1: in the stock Clock app->Timer,my reset button doesn't set the timer back to 0:0:0, it sets it back to 1hr 5min 02 secs. I've tried a restart to no avail.
2: My stock calendar app has a "default reminder time" of none yet every new appointment I set sets a 10 minute reminder.
Well the timer would have no point at being set to 0.0.0?
Else what would you be timing?
I think the timer resets to whatever you set it at last time you timed something e.g. you set the timer at 1 minute, it counts down to 30 seconds and then you click reset, it will return to 1 minute.
As for the calendar app, the reminder is meant to be 10 minutes, so everything seems in order?
I'm sure the timer used to reset to 0, hence the term "reset". It doesn't even go back to the last timer I set, seems to be random.
And no, the default isn't 10 minutes, the default is what you set as the default in the app - whatever I set it to, all new appointments have a reminder time of 10 minutes.
Edit: realised I didn't have "all calendars" selected in the calendar settings so the default reminder listed didn't apply. In this case the default reminder is indeed 10 minutes.
I'm still sure the timer should reset to zero however.
I think your missing the point, the stop watch should reset to zero yes, as that counts up from 0 to something.
Wereas the timer, you want it set at something, to count DOWN to zero. (for baking cookies etc? )
The term "Reset" doesnt have anything to do with taking it back to zero, it resets it to the default value.
Which is why I said the timer should reset to whatever you previously had it timed at.
But it resetting to a random value like 1 hour 5 mins 2 seconds as you stated is a different issue.
Hope I helped
Maybe - I'm just sure it used to go back to zero. Thanks anyway. I can live with it - just glad I got to the bottom of the calendar thing.

Sedentary notification

I'm looking for a mod or something to put lower gaps between the sedentary notification (now it looks like it can be only 1 hour...i want put it for like 20/30 minutes)
N&F app has this option. You can configure time frame when to be notified and also at which interval.
