Has their been a root method discovered for the latest OTA update with the kernel date of June 25th? It's the second 4.4.2 update...towelroot does not seem to work on this version of 4.4.2...
What is the system version... If you unlocked your boot loader when you were the 182/183.46.10 you could flash SuperSU but I didn't know a new one was out... I'm slacking... You're using a RAZR M xt907

There was a soak test for the HD, but not the M. That being said, Towel should work on the latest update for the M.

Eh? I'm not sure what you mean. I borrowed my friends old Razr M that had the first kit kat update (kernel date may 1st) and towelroot worked right away, but every time I try on mine (second kit kat update, kernel date june 25th) it just hangs.
I believe it's this OTA (well, it's for 183.*, but you know...) available for almost a month now. It should update 183.46.10 to 183.46.13. And as it's mainly a fix for towelroot, I would be surprised if you can root it with towelroot.
Note that Moto's update files are named after the version they can be applied to.
If the bootloader is locked, then I guess there's no known exploits for gaining root right now.

If it is, there's no word about it. The HD soak came out a couple weeks ago and it was so jacked up that they didn't push a soak for the M.

I got an invitation more than month ago, but nothing happened then. On the begging of July I got another invitation, but I refused to participate, because my phone is bricked since end of the June.

If you are on jelly bean just install 183 fxz with rsdlite. You can root this one.

If you can't update by going back to stock and use the update device in settings -> about, then you can download it and use Odin to flash. I will wait for a rooted ICS themed version from one of the talented devs :fingers-crossed:
i get my gs3 tomorrow since my htc one x gave out, just in time in my opinion!
Yay for bloat!

Got a update notification about 2 hours ago for the s3. Anybody else get this? I didn't update it yet.
Phone is/was on latest already.

Updates still show on root66 roms. If you update, you'll just lose root.

Its stock rooted so if OTA hasn't been disabled it will come through although you could lose root.
Any screenshot?

An OTA update will fail as long as your system status is 'modified'

It's on dlja. Thought that was the latest?
I guess dljc is the newer one. Guess I flashed the older root 66 by accident.
Sorry guys. Guess I goofed.
FYI
I just got the update last night, and now my build number ends in DLJC, too.
I got the notification, did the update which was really fast, noticed no difference so far, but system info is as follows

Hi, guys, I just got the Verizon HTC One today and it came out of box with Android 4.4.2 and Sense 5.5 build no. 3.11.605.1 CL304035 release-keys. I have read through the Android Development forum and Original Android Development forum and I didn't find any tools specific to the 4.4.2 build. Can any of you point me in the right direction? Or is the bootloader and S-Off method still in the works? Please don't tell me that this is going to be like the Samsung devices and locked down forever! Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
As of right now, there is no s-off, bootloader unlock, or root for 4.4.2. But im sure there will be eventually. As i understand it, firewaters exploit was not patched, but the needed temp root method was.

If you got the device from a retail store just go back and try to get a replacement. There's a good bet most of them are not on 4.4
Gotcha(directed to both of you) I'm sure there'll be a method soon, if nothing else moonshine, rumrunner, etc. Will probably just be updated as I figure. I used to have the Droid DNA which is an awesome phone and I used moonshine and loved it. I love those one click programs that does everything for you! I just thought I'd ask because I read through the forums first and didn't see anything and I just wanted to make sure I didn't over look anything. Thank you guys, I appreciate it.

Almost 5 months for a root method? I feel really bad for those stuck on 4.4 now. I'd just jump to the M8 at that point.
Yeah August is a long way off and sure we will have another update by then which most will take making his exploit useless.

For the most part, beaups was silent before he cracked 4.3 right?
And they can't patch an exploit if they don't know what it is right?

I wish kingo was compatible. I mean I would like to have soff, custom recovery and an unlocked boot loader for custom ROMs but with how smooth and fast the 4.4.2 software is, I would be perfectly fine with just root.

I'm not willing to download the Kit Kat update until we figure out a way to root (I use unlimited data on my wifi tether - so I need root)... that sounds selfish... Anyway! It's killing me knowing that Kit Kat is here and I cannot take the update!
Will someone that has taken the update PLEASE post some screenshots of the update so those of us that are selfish, I mean waiting to take the update, can see what's changed? Thanks in advance.
Here is the new lockscreen.
Attached are a handful of screenies I've taken.

Someone in stock that I can spend the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk? From already thank you.
Hi
After updating to KK I am still having Amazon and Verizon crap apps. I read somewhere that it has been removed from KK. Is it true?

So all the bloat is gone =)
I think i have to let the new install settle in before i can say much about battery life...
Once i am on wifi it shows 1x (I am assuming some sort of data for text and such)
Once i am off wifi it goes to H+, 3G, 2G depending on area.
I just received my LG G3 today and updated to lollipop, not realising it was basically unrootable. Please tell me there is an option to root or atleast there will be soon? I cannot live without my Viper4Android app!
I can't believe I was so dumb to just install the update without considering the potential issues with rooting.
I updated my Nexus 7 to lollipop and quickly went back to KitKat using the Root Toolkit, so I didn't realise that we were having an issue with rooting lollipop devices. Or I wouldn't have updated at all.
I'm due another LG G3 tomorrow as the original company were out of stock, so I ended up going into the store and picking one up today, and ofcourse the original company just at that moment emailed me to confirm delivery for the following day.... anyway how far away are we from getting a solution... i will need to return one G3 so would it be worth returning the device i updated and keeping the G3 which will likely come shipped with Kitkat? Or will a solution likely be here soon?
Hope this makes sense, I've been up all night trying to root this *******.
Thanks!
Actually u can just install a custom lollipop rom which is already rooted or even install a stock rooted one too , it's up to u which one whould u like to return , for the updated one u can downgrade to kitkat using tot file and then root and get a custom recovery ... And install whatever u want
