Installing s4 weatherWidget in my Phone

Hety Guys.
I'm trying to install Galaxy S4 TouchWiz AccuWeather widget .
I following on this guide :

as he said i can flash the zip file in CWM and thats what i did and it's still not working.
I'm using CM10.1 4.2.2 rom.
what is sulotion ?
do you have another working tuturial ?

The solution is to flash a Touchwiz Jellybean 4.1.1 rom first. LOL

Guys,,, that isnt true... the Galaxy S4 launcher has already been ported several weeks ago to all AOSP roms! Yes, this includes the weather widget. Here is the link... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236937

[Q] Help choosing Roms

So.. I bought the Samsung Grand yesterday. I rooted it. Installed the clockwork recovery. It was a piece of cake.
So now i have to confess. I HATE SAMSUNG'S LAUNCHER! The normal android launcher seems much much much better. So simply. I want a rom that has
Android 4.2.2
ORIGINAL ANDROID LAUNCHER. NO SAMSUNG INSANE LAUNCHER
Stability. I want it to be as stable as the original. If possible of course
Battery improvement.
NO LAG. PLEASE NO LAG D:!
And finally. I do not know if that is possible. Maybe overclocking?
Ability to install mods?
Root XD?
Also some other questions
After i flash the custom ROM. Can i restore the original? Samsung's one? In case i need to use the warranty.. So i can restore the original insane samsung stuff. And remove root and they won't know anything..
Is flashing a new ROM dangerous? Ya know just wondering.
Can it speed up my Samsung Grand?

First of all congrates for choosing grand n to join XDA ....
N as u already have installed cwm n rooted ur device u can simply go for the custom rom...
I suggest u to flash GENNXT rom devloped by balliboxer...Thanks balli :thumbup:

As it seems. The ROM is only flashable if i have the leaked 4.2.2 update. Which i do not have..
And it seems to have the same annoying Samsung Launcher. From the pictures.
Also how can i go back to the samsung stock Rom or whatever
And what custom kernel do i need to get?

The kernel you gave me seems to be unstable.. :/
Also a launcher is NOT an option. I can't express how much i hate those launchers. All i want is the default android launcher. No TouchWiz

if you want heavily customized rom try XperiaZ flavor rom or AOSP 4.1.2
btw if single sim is fine with you & call recording you don't need go for cm10.1

Landscape does not display properly (workaround: Disable HW overlays in Developer Options)
FM Radio does not work
Strange behavior when SIM PIN lock is used
Low call volume
Cannot hear first caller when second caller calls (call waiting) (unconfirmed)
Important Note
I do not own this phone and only did this port as a demonstration to my (real-life) friend on how to port CM to a new device. However, it would be a waste to just delete it, so I'm sharing it with you all. So if someone else want to port CM, they won't have to start from scratch. But because I do not have the device, I cannot actively work on it and most bugs will likely be left as-is. If anyone else want to submit patches, they are welcomed to do so.
Also, I've developed this on the I9082L, but it should work on the I9082 as well.
That is what was written on the ROM's thread.
I want the phone with EVERYTHING working fine just as fine as it was on stock. Just with the ability to overclock , Put some mods and REMOVE THE STUPID TOUCH WIZ INSANE LAUNCHER SAMSUNG PUT. XD

Currently, for grand it's "10.1.2" and not "10.2"
CM 10.2 is Android Version 4.3

Hello Guys ,
Here is the E988 version of the 4.3 ( CM10.2 Base ) ROM ,
THe Rom has a lot of elements from S4 and few other devices
Due to time restriction I am not able to update everything..
Apologies but this is still a CWM restore based...
install instruction
just unrar the file
copy to sdcard\clockworkmod\backup
go to restore and select the folder and restore.
reboot enjoy ( no need to do a factory reset )

I have to ask you because i flashed Official CM 10.2, my phone always restart automatic every time screen turn off.

Oh OK cause I have the e980 so will I have issues cause I tried the official and unofficial cm10.2 and carbon and had this issue on all 3 roms.

Can i post your rom to other forum? Sothat share rom for everyone.

you can always just clear the defaults of the launcher so you will get back the CM launcher its stil there i havent removed it... so is the lock screen as well

Yes, I just remove Lock screen GS 4 and clear launcher to default.
Try for some days, find out the issues if have and report later.

Hey anirudhks, can you upload a TWRP restore based???
Because, i use CWM to restore your rom into my phone after install TWRP to backup rom 4.3. But when i restore rom by TWRP, it always restart automatic. I don't know why.

I was wondering where I can find the original apps like : LG Quick Memo, or Note app ? And how can I custom the Quick Memo button on the top left (Used to be a Quick Memo button) ?
Also, why most of the apps get error message when update from market ?

I only keep stock software because non of the custom Roms offers the smart stay screen or smart video or dual shot camera and dual video recording feature that the stock ROM offer. Until those things aren't put in to a custom ROM I most likely not gonna at least as for my daily ROM switch to a custom ROM. Just to many awesome features missing in custom ROM vs the stock ROM.

Have you tested? He wants to have a touchwiz launcher while using cm(the only one i know is by linq's chinese girls s4 launcher)

The guys at the beginning started to keep a list of devices on which it works.
But, as I understand it, there are new versions and the list does not become relevant.

[Q] Is there a way to delete / hide LG overlay ?

Hi all,
All in the title, i'm interested in this tablet, but i hate overlays like touchwiz & co (i don't know the LG one...).
Is there a way to have a "pure" android in this tablet ? Cyanogenmod isn't officialy supported...
And i read somewhere, we cannot install the google play edition rom in this one.
Any idea ?

thats why people install custom roms, to get rid of useless bloatware like samsung's touchwiz which consume memory and storage. Try mahdi rom if you want a pure android system experience (its based at google nexus android). Its super clean, fast and stable.

I had cm11 installed but it had some weird bugs that others users didnt have though and i installed mahdi, its perfect.
The procedure to install a custom rom is:
1)root using dailingrin's method
2)install a custom recovery (i recommend you drgravy's twrp 2.6.3.2)
3)perform a data wipe and install the custom rom and the google apps package from the custom recovery menu

CM is officially supported for the gpad. I find the nightlies are stable, but snapshot 3 was released yesterday.

Yes, I guess that page is not up to date as the gpad isn't on the list for unofficial support either.
On the CM download page it's known as the V500
