[Q] Flashing SM-T805Y firmware onto SM-T805 - possible? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I've got an SM-T805 from HK and I'm wondering if flashing the Australian SM-T805Y firmware onto it (if it's possible) will let it work with LTE 700 MHz band?
Thanks!

Hi mpogr.
Did you manage to flash the Aussie firmware? Just wondering because I just purchased a SM-T805Y and i want to get rid of the Telstra branding.
Cheers

I did, but not the modem part. The modem has to be SM-T805 (not Y!), otherwise ODIN wouldn't flash it. I now have the generic Aussie (XSA) 5.0.2 firmware (rooted) on it (downloaded from Sammobile) with HK modem and sbin. Sometimes I lose the 4G reception and have to restart the device to get it back working.

I haven't done anything to mine yet. As I said just purchased. But want to get rid of that Telstra branding. And still reading up on the processes of Samsung devices.
Cheers.

[Q] Flashing Hong Kong Note 8 With UK ROM?

Hi
I bought an LTE N5210 note 8 from HK via a company called Panamoz. Unfortunately, it is not getting updates beyond 4.1.3, and I know that 4.2.2 is available for it. Does anyone know how to reset the CSC such as it reports that its a UK note, or indeed, can I flash the UK Firmware?
Not really interested in root cause it stops a couple of banking apps I use working, but I guess I can root, flash then unroot?
Anyone else had any experience of the HK note, I dont really want to brick my device.
I can confirm that it works fine with LTE from EE - something else that I am reading might break if I update it to the UK firmware.

[Q] aussie 7105 users..what...

what official firmware (not stock optus or Telstra) should I use for my phone? just want official, but without optus or Telstra bloat...what firmware has anyone tried that is fairly ok with optus or telsta? cheers

Did samsung ever release kit Kat for US version?

I've looked on their site and sammobile.com and can't find one. Just want to install the stock and root it. Since it's wifi anyway, can I just install the Canadian or UK version?
ETA: 8.0 SM T310 version, forgot this forum isn't specific
Hello.
I found this thread, maybe it answers your question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2435929
It says that "XAR is Cellular South which is a USA one", then from Sammobile: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-T310/XAR/
And also I think you can install Canadian / UK version, there should not be problems.

You can easily install 4.4.2 from other countries, if you have SM-T310.

SM-T705W Lollipop?

Had anybody been able to flash the Hong Kong T705 update to a Canadian T705? The Canadian model is SM-T705W vs SM-T705 (US and most of the world)... I haven't been able to flash ANY T705 firmware other than the Canadian firmware which is kind of old (Even the KitKat rom).
Any ideas??
EDIT: My tablet is locked, currently waiting for an unlock code. But can't seem to find any info on whether or not this will actually make a difference.

Your best bet is to sell off your Canadian version for a dirt cheap price on ebay and get an International SM-T705 version instead, as firmware updates for localized versions are usually wayy too long to wait or nonexistent.
If you have any trouble with your unlock code go to cellunlocker.net
They had me my code in two hrs and it worked first try.
No BS, no runnarround.
this is how I unlocked my T705W
Cheers!

Joe... Did unlocking the tablet allow you to flash an international T705 firmware? Like the HK Lollipop update? Or are we still stuck with the KitKat 705W firmware?
Not the international one but I did flash the IronRom V1.1.5 T705. This broke my imei and gave me null/null.
The rom worked but radio did not. So I flashed back to stock and radio came back.

Did you try flashing the HK firmware or just the Ironman? Appreciate the replys as this is currently driving me crazy. I bought this tablet 3 weeks ago thinking I would be able to flash Lollipop, only to find out that our Canadian LTE models seem to be locked down and will probably never receive the Lollipop update...

just the Ironman. Patience young grasshopper
For this device it is a bit late, but I notice curous behaviour from observed lte speeds on the SM-t705w klimtkltecan; at leatst my hardcopy of the kilmtkltecan on a t-mobile sim seems to have up/down speeds throttled at 0.5 mbps each on the ookla speed test. Another curious thing is that klimtltecan is the only klimtelte with a upgraded bootloader SW ver 2 with downgrade not possible. Another curious thing is that the kitkat modem does not beget a recognised sim (at least with upgraded lollipop bootloader). Another curous thing unique thist his post in regards to klimtltecan on xda is that it shares a mostly compatible kernel with chagallltecan (sm-t805w), whihc is reason klimtlte roms dont boot on klimtltecan. So, lots of questions there are. Most of all i can't believe the throttleing bs.
So, cna i ask what everyone's speed resutls are on this device sm-t705w klimtltecan?
thanks.

S10+ Korean version 975N much cheaper, any thoughts?

Hi guys,
Here is my dilemma: I live in Vietnam and I can get the Korean S10+ 512GB for about $770 (vs. $990 for the international version).
The phone is SKT branded, but I guess there will be a way to flash the unbranded Korea firmware. Can anyone confirm it's possible?
Also, the Korean version can only take 1 SIM but if it is like the previous Galaxy S, the hardware should be there, it's purely a firmware limitation. How hard is it to install the international version firmware (F/DS) on the Korean version? If possible, will I still get OTA? Will I need to unlock the bootloader?
Thanks for your help!

I don't know that you could install the international firmware on the Korean device. I know the Canadian models (W) can flash the US (U/U1) versions. Id just get some confirmation before trying it as to not brick the device.
