Nothing in the update can break your phone.

Hey guys - so, I will first say that I tried unrevoked2 when I applied the sprint OTA update before FroYo.
It did a few things to my phone but it looks like it didn't root it. I assumed that I now basically have a vanilla EVO and I'm ok with that, the issue now is that when trying to update to the FroYo OTA update, when I reboot the phone when I indicate that I want to install the phone now it goes right into Fastboot.
Is there a way I can stop FastBoot from loading entirely so I can just get this sprint OTA Update applied?
Alternatively, is there a way I can get my 1.47.651.1 phone rooted so I could try installing something like Fresh?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers!
Edit - I can the same issue when trying to factory reset my phone, basically any time the phone tries to reboot itself it goes into fastboot
Ok, so I did something really stupid this morning. I had a notification that a software update was available. I decided to ignore my better judgement and install it. After it downloaded, the phone rebooted and went into recovery. When I say recovery, I mean TWRP, since that's what I have installed. Now every time I reboot the phone, it just goes straight to TWRP! I tried wiping the phone (factory reset). I even tried installing a different ROM! It just keeps on booting straight to recovery.
Any suggestions? Please help. I'm dead in the water.
Download mode and Lg flashtool flash KDZ.
Whose a silly boy then.
Cant believe that people are still installing OTA updates even though they have TWRP.

Hello,
today I accidentally tapped on "Update" (to 7.1.1) on my rooted Nexus 5X... Something you usually shouldn't do, but it was 2am and I was tired and.... Doesn't matter. After this my phone rebooted and almost instantly showed the dead android with the message "No command". And now I'm stuck there. After rebooting I still land there.
Since the error message almost instantly appeared and since I still can boot into TWRP (3.0.2-2), I think the update wasn't installed and I hope to find a way to avoid the factory reset of my phone. Do you have some tips or possible solutions what I should do in this case?
Thank you for your help.
Its odd this happened, when rooted and twrp installed. in my experience, the update will just simply fail and it will boot back up.... in your case, it sounds like something flashed but the phone didnt like it.... All I can think of is if you cant get into twrp, boot into fastboot and flash the factory image from google, you will loose all data though.....
EDIT, RE-READ you post, if you CAN get into TWRP, try flashing a backup... you should have a backup I hope, lol... First rule of root and flashing is make a backup asap....LOL
When I rooted my phone I did a backup. But the problem is, it was several months ago. So I tried the only method I could save all my data. It wasn't safe, I knew this, but no risk no fun.
My solution was: Download the ota update from Google and flash it with TWRP... Voila! My phone boots properly with the new update... But this method is like I mentioned before not safe and can probably cause a boot-loop with an overwritten recovery. I had to flash my recovery again, but everything works fine now.
Okay, So let me start from the beginning so I'm certain I'm being descriptive enough.
The other night my G3's wifi stopped working. When I went to turn it on in settings it would turn itself back off. Which I thought was strange. So, I assumed it was a software issue so I backed up any important items and factory reset my phone last night. That went over fine. Wifi worked again, all was good. Until, it said it needed an Android Software Update. I hit "update" and allowed it to do its thing. About halfway through the update the phone said "error." With an icon of the Android bot with a hazard triangle sticking out from it. I let it be for a bit and nothing happened. So in my impatience I took the battery out and put it back in and tried to restart the phone. This is where the issue occurs. The phone keeps booting to recovery mode. I'm not savvy at all with Android so I don't know if these mean anything but it says "Android System Recovery <3e> LRX21Y" The phone has had zero modifications done to it. I would really appreciate any help or any tutorials that could save the phone until my g6 preorder comes in.
Thanks!
Kyle
Your phone failed the update for some weird reasons and is now stuck. I'm afraid you'll need to restore stock Android using LG Flash tools and KDZ files to your device. It will get your phone working, but you'll lose your data in the process.
You can try mounting the phone from recovery or download mode and see if you can access your data and backup the data. You can also try the recovery option without downloading wnloaing a KDZ first.
You can fins tutorials around the forum, in the general section usually.
Hello All,
I was excited too about the new update but sadly I am unable to update to it. I downloaded the update but when the device rebooted it gave me an error.
I don't have the screenshot but it was the white screen with green android and red text saying there was an error.
I had recently unlocked the bootloader successfully but was unable to get the TWRP installed even after multiple attempts ( I think a corrupted version of TWRP is installed). Since the device was working fine and I didn't want to brick it, I let it be and kept on using it. Until today, when the update came and I am unable to get it.
Any idea how I can get back to the state my phone was before I messed it up. Please note that I am unable to get the TWRP installed even after multiple updates.
Will the Huwai Suit help in that?
Thanks for reading.
Cheers!

I think it's because of the incorrect installation of TWRP. I tried installing TWRP multiple times and it started giving errors. Since my phone was booting properly and I did not want to risk bricking it, I left it as it was and continued using the phone.
Is there any way we can either un-install TWRP and lock bootloader again. ?
Update: Huwai suit didn't help.
