slow swiping the navi bar - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When you slow swipe the Navi bar from the bottom to the top it brings up icons to call up the memo pad or search, is there a way to disable this?

No Navigation Bar Mod idea

What if, when you didn't pay attention to the Navigation Bar at the bottom it SMOOTHLY flew down the bottom of the screen. And when you wanted to use it, you just swiped up and it responded right away!?
Wouldn't that be awesome? I don't know if it's possible to do or if Google would have to implement it. If you can do it let me know when you make it!
That's what I have set up on my MoPho, using Apex launcher. I've hidden both the dock and notification bar. When I need them, I swipe up for my app drawer and swipe down for my notifications. I press home softbutton to toggle my status bar, and also set double-tap anywhere on screen for my GoSMS to launch.
I like the clean look

Swiping up with one finger might not be a good idea. Say for example you're in the settings menu and you swipe down, either the phone will open up the notification bar or scroll down.. or both. Swiping up and swiping down with 2 fingers would be great!
Mybad, just realized that I was still in the Nexus section and not the Photon lol, time for bed :7
In some ROMS out there you already have the ability to hide the nav bar - and use these controls from the advanced power menu instead. Same option, different solution.

Gesture control works!, ipad style multi touch controls, hide status bar.

Just to let others know, Gesture Control on the play store works with the nexus 7!
This gives you iPad style multi touch gesture control of your nexus and let's you hide the home/back/status bar giving you real full screen apps!
for those of us that arent ipad users, how exactly does one perform such a feat?

You can customise the gestures but for example the defaults are :
4 pinger pinch to close the app/go back to launcher. 4 finger spread out to load a quick launcher with app shortcuts.
3 fingers to the right to task switch to previously loaded app. 3 fingers swipe up to hide status bar/buttons
3 fingers swipe down to go 'back' e.g previous web page etc.
All can be customised or even make a gesture load a specific app
If you guys want true and easy edge Swype gestures try out Aaron’s linaro rom with edge swipe and tablet mode.
Just loving it

I had this app a while ago on my touchpad and now have it in the nexus 7. Great app. Have custom gestures srtu for toggling status bar, etc.

Am I looking at the right one in the play store? $5 and requires root?
I also recommend gmd Gesture control for those who don't have it, in particular the paid version which allows you to hide bar by the swipe of the screen.
Needs root.
Have any of you done this to actually hide the Back/Home/Recents bar?
I cannot find the option to hide it without hiding disabling status bar as well.
Thanks

[Q] Stock 4.4.2; how to disable quick search @ bottom of screen

Australia finally received the kitkat upgrade for e975.
One terrible problem though: the new quick launch bar that appears with a swipe from the bottom of the screen means that about half of the first row of keys from the on screen keyboard don't work; space bar is now roughly half the height as before as it does not react on the lowest half.
Does anyone know how to disable this??

+1 to this. It disables the nav ring, and fixes the touch problem at the bottom.
Thanks guys, that worked a treat!

[Q] Remove NavBar

Hi guys, I searched in the forum but I didn't find a solution.
Is there a way to remove the navigation bar without using xposed modules?
By removing you mean hiding it?
If so there's a place for hiding them on apps
Settings-->Display-->Home touch buttons-->Hide home touch buttons
If you remove navbar, how do you go back, home etc.?
with pie controls, I don't want to hide but to disable it...

You can add this line in build.prop to remove the navbar-> qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1
(expect that it will be small problems, such as with the stock camera app, copy/paste function in browser etc)

Swipe down reveals settings directly

When I swipe down the notification menu from the top it directly shows the settingsbar. I really don't like that. On my N4 it took two swiped down.
The most stupid thing is that I can't swipe down notifcations (to see more info) when the settingsbar is still on the screen. When I swipe that up I can swipe down a notification..
Is there a way to change it?
Yeah, it's so annoying that I have to scroll up then down again to see notifications.
Someone fix this please!
Nova launcher or add a notifications button on the nav bar
Edit sorry the navbar works the same as stock
