Hello,
I was recently attempting to flash the new Cyanogenmod 10 ROM to my phone and I've found myself in a bootloop (the logo just continuously circles). I actually know what error I made to cause this, but the problem is, I have no access to any recovery menus anymore. All I can access is download mode. I can still use Odin and connect to the phone, but other than that I'm at a loss for what to do. I have backups of everything, I just need to get the phone wiped and back to factory set and start over. Unfortunately, without a recovery menu I don't know what to do.
What should I do from here?
Solved it.
For anyone that has this issue in the future, I plugged into the computer and ran Odin and was able to have it install a stock ICS ROM and I just started over.
Good job with solving the issue on your own! :good:
Your issue and solution had been discussed on these forums already. As a tip for the next time you have an issue, make sure to use the search bar first. Cheers!
Hey all,
The other day I used my G Pad as normal, went out came back a few hours later and found all my apps to be crashing. I figured something was just acting up and a reboot would help. Rebooted, got stuck in a boot loop. Tried to factory reset, no luck. Tried using the LG Mobile Support tool, then factory resetting again, still boot looping.
It still charges, turns on, can get into download mode as well as the factory reset screen, but none of those things are getting me through this boot loop.
Prior to all this, I was running stock with root. That's it. Never flashed any ROMs or ran any crazy apps. I'm gutted this is happening after I've used numerous Android devices in the past that I rooted, ROM'd, etc. and never bricked.
Is there anything else I can try? It's out of warranty and I imagine LG repairs would cost nearly as much as a new unit caught on sale.
Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Try using smartflash tool. Not sure if it will work on the GPad but can't hurt if nothing else works
Sent from my LG-V500 using XDA Free mobile app
Symptoms are exactly what I experienced a couple of weeks ago. Like you, I tried factory resets and all options in the LG mobile support tool - no luck, it continued to boot loop. Mine was rooted but stock, like yours.
Sorry to tell you, I sent mine to LG (it was still under warranty), and they had to "replace flash RAM", according to the ticket. Very quick turnaround, and it's working perfectly now. I don't know what the process would cost you.
Hope you find a solution...this is a perfect tablet for my uses, and I'm glad to have it working again.
There is an offline LG flash tool which allow you to set up a http server and cheat the LG support tool to flash a local kdz ROM file. Since you can enter the download mode. This way definitely works. Just search the offline kdz tool in the forum.
I just got the official update to Marshmallow and I decided to just do it since it is official. It downloaded and then installed. Then it rebooted and showed that "apps are being optimized" screen and after that a bootloop of the lg logo. Rebooting doesnt work only if I take the battery out but afterwards there's still a bootloop. I also didn't do root or anything else to my device. I can not enter download mode or recovery either, but honestly idk if it has worked before.
Can anyone with probably similar experiences help me? Thanks in Advance from Germany
LG G3 D855 16Gb Europe unlocked Marshmallow update boot loop.

I have exactly the same issue. I have a German-bought LG G3 d855 updating this morning to Marshmallow. It is now caught in exactly the same boot loop. I get the LG logo, for a few minutes (the brightness changes during this time) followed by the "Android is updating..." app optimization screen which optimizes my 44 apps before going back to the logo in a constant cycle. Then my 44 apps get optimized yet again, and on it goes. I can't enter recovery, none of the button combinations has any effect. Phone has no mods, and was working fine before this.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi,
Similar issue here, my phone updated today (also no root, no mods) and for a couple of hours everything worked fine (just some missing apps after the process, but ok), then I went to flight mode and back and then it started with the reboot loops.
The reboots on my phone happen after some seconds in the home screen, so I have time to try to set it in flight mode again, and in some cases, after this it stops rebooting, but in flight mode, with no connections at all.
I'm trying to remove things to avoid doing a factory reset by now, removing cache didn't help...
Is your phone rebooting also after loading the home screen? or it just loops in the LG screen or in the apps update screen?
Hello,
I had the same problem. Just hardware reset the device and the device will continue from optimizing the apps
Instructions on how to hard reset see the video find on youtube "How to Enter into Recovery Mode on LG G3!"

Hi
I managed to recover my phone, BUT I didn't manage to recover my personnal data... I had to reset everything...
My method : with this tool https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi9oJnC66bMAhWHDsAKHY_cBVQQFggdMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D2683691&usg=AFQjCNGG5q9UKA6oKXlahEEOksUo8faGrw&sig2=cTz4bAtdqp4BEut2S4B2GA enter your imei, and download KDZ file, latest directly from LG server.
Then follow this method (in french sorry)

You can try "normal flash" at the first time, but if it doesn't work (for me it doesn't work) you will have to choose "CSE Flash" and it should work. But you will loose your personnal data. So be strong.

Bro Thank You so much ive been searching for solution the last 2 days and you finally saved my life Thank you Man !
i have the same problem....after the stock firmware has been restored, what method is used to get the proper working marshmallow upgrade?
I went from 5.0 to 6.0 using the LG PC Suite.
0 problems, 0 reboots, quick and fast. Did you update through OTA?
yes i did but still boot lop............is it the battery?
so ?
Same problem here, did you find a solution ?
New G3 from LG but back in bootloop after 24h of use.
Thank you.
I got the exact same issue, neither hard reset or flashing firmware works. Is there any other solution or should i start looking for a new phone?
Edit: Somehow it works just fine now lol. Tried flashing it like 3 times and hard reset twice and now after an hour of constant optimizing apps bootlopping i pulled out the battery for like the 100th time and now it works, what the hell. Looks like my G3 will die soon tho haha
I was running the latest version of TWRP and a rooted version of the LG G6 port. Everything was stable and worked fine. So I was ready to give it back to its owner who I had modded it for. I went into the settings menu of the phone and did a standard factory reset to remove my account that was logged in so I could test the phone out before giving it to the owner. well when it finished resetting and rebooted, its been stuck in a boot loop ever since.
Tried just clearing both Dalvik Cache and Cache, to no avail. Tried Reflashing the rom and starting over. Still nothing. Tried flashing a different rom. Still nothing.
So what else can I try? and also if its the only thing I can do, rest it all the way back to stock factory everything. How do I do that on this phone. What program do I need and what files. and whats the steps to complete the process.
Thank you in advance for all help that is given
i factory reset in twrp and turned on developers options after first boot then reflashed twrp i always forget backup lol or delete it or use kdz you flashed before anyway i can help i will if you still need
if you have tried to flash the same custom rom or another is still not working, flashes with the program "lg up", you will need a kdz file, and the corresponding drivers. if with that you can not watch this tutorial before doing anything.
if you have a backup made with twrp, it flashes again.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/unbrick-lg-g4-brick-hs-usb-qdloader-t3542785
during this process you will have to disassemble the back of the phone, (plastic) you do not need to remove the motherboard completely from the phone, anyway if you can enter download mode try with lg up tool.
if you need help around here we are.
Well now in the process of trying to fix it. The phone bricked and will no longer turn on at all. Is there anyway to fix this ?

Can you get into download mode?

HELP PLEASE.Is there a way to flash or root AT&T Note 5,stuck in boot loop mode???
Hi to all
I'm member on XDA for a long time, but I really am a newbie considering rooting, flashing and messing with the phones.
Yesterday ,my At&t Samsung galaxy NOTE 5 restarted by itself and started doing that constantly.Maybe because the memory was almost full so the firmware didn't have enough space to run correctly ,I don't really know.
So I decided to do a FACTORY RESET in order to refresh the phone.I backed all up (it did restart few time while I did that but I managed to finish it).
After I did the factory reset and wiped the cache,I rebooted the phone and that is when the boot loop started.
Once or three times came back and started the phone up to the first settings (I managed to put in my google username e.t.c. but after a minute maybe it freezes and restarted by itself again)
I tried again another factory reset but the boot loop continues.I tried many time to turn it off,it restarted up to INSTALLING UPDATE......then tried to turn it off completely (Volume down+Power+Home button) and somehow I managed to turn it off.
I thought that I can come here and find the instructions on how to FLASH it with ODIN,but I couldn't find the stock firmware for AT&t Note 5.
Then I remembered (and read on internet) that the bootloader on AT&T phones is locked !!!!!
I searched some threads here for at least how to root it ,but I can't find anything clearly.
So I'm asking you for help: IS THERE ANY SAFE WAY THAT I CAN DO FLASH OR ROOT MY AT&T SAMSUNG NOTE 5 (EXPLAINED STEP BY STEP) IN ORDER TO MAKE MY PHONE WORK AGAIN????
I have never before messed with the phone. It has the original stock firmware Android 7.0 Nougat.
And the phone is bought in USA,but I live in EUROPE and have unlocked it ,by buying some code online, few years ago.It was working fine until yesterday.
Thank you in advance guys I hope that someone might help me.
Juno 106
Guys I found here some older version (few months older) of Android 7 for my Note 5 and I managed to do a flash. The flashing went OK I went through settings and after few minutes the phone freezes again and restarts. And then again the same,it works fine for a few minutes, freezes and restarts (I can here the camera working inside sometimes too)...........CAN ANYONE HELP ME REPAIR MY PHONE ,PLEASE ???
Hi again
I don't know why no one is replying to me???
Today I managed to make the settings and power up the phone, restored the back up....the phone is working,BUT the PROBLEM is that it constantly freezes and reboots by itself.Sometimes it works for few minutes and reboots, sometimes it works for 30min and then it reboots, sometimes longer...
What might be the problem? Is it some hardware problem processor ,memory or maybe bad battery? It is older model and I have noticed with Accu Battery that most likely the battery haslowered it's capacity. It drains faster, sometimes when it comes to 15% it drains very fast...
Can anyone help me diagnose the problem?
Thank you in advance
Try booting into Download Mode & flash a new stock firmware if all else fails, assuming u tried a factory reset first with no satisfaction. Guides are everywhere. I HTH

Thank you for your reply
I managed to flash the firmware few times, but the phone keeps freezing after some time and restarts.Sometimes it is stuck in the bootloop, sometimes it starts up to some point, freezes and restarts.
Could it be BAD BATTERY or is it something else?
If it is the battery problem,I will replace it,but I'm afraid that it might be someting else wrong.
What is your opinion?
