G3 Compatible Aux Car Head Unit List - T-Mobile LG G3

Hello All,
So after nearly two weeks with my G3, and along with other users, notice how the G3 may or may not work with any Aux connectivity out there, I've decided that maybe we should have a list of compatible car head units that works with the G3. I'm hoping that this list will help users know whether their new phone works with their car's Aux cable or not. This may serve as a temporary thing if LG patches the issue with upcoming updates or if a ROM for our phone fixes the problem, but in case it never gets resolved, this lists should help people.
In case you haven't read my other thread regarding the issue with the AUX connectivity, I have posted a solution to the problem, albeit it involves purchasing something. But you can read about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/help/finicky-connection-car-audio-jack-t2825158
So, to begin, this list is only for CAR HEAD UNITS, and nothing else. Not for powered home/computer speakers, or high end headset, etc. ONLY CAR HEAD UNITS! Please stick to this format. If you would like to post about what other devices work or doesn't work with the phone, please start a new thread. Also, if you are connecting via Blueetooth, please ignore this thread, this is strictly for cable connectivity only.
This is a simple list, with a few things that I will ask and that I hope everyone can provide in their replies. If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve this list, please go ahead and let me know. I will try my best to update this list as often as possible every week with submissions from users, and maybe when I have the time, make it into a proper list probaly using Google Docs or something.

I'm deployed right now and don't have my vehicle at home to test ('13 Charger) but there are several here I can try it with. Currently:
851
T-Mobile
Dodge Dakota
2006-2009? Not sure, but the last ones they made.
Stock head unit
Built in aux (so all Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep of this model year area using these head units w/o touchscreens should work)
Works with G3
Aux icon
Edit: had music paused and the device acted as though it were unplugged. When I plugged it back in, it's showing as headphones now. Seems like whenever the audio stops, I have to replug and mess with it so it works.

Hi Evilteo, just to be sure, was your G3 working with your car without the isolator or not? If you haven't tried it, would you mind testing your connection without the isolator so we can be sure that it works/does not work without the isolator please? Thanks for your input regardless!

It works without it but I get the static noise when the song is playing and it is due to the car not being grounded correctly for the aux port for this specific vehicle so the isolator fixes it or the dealership will have to do the TSB, but it works none the less without the isolator loop.

[Q] Nexus 7 2013 - in car installation: many doubts and.. what is the best ROM?

Goodmorning,
I'm planning to mount my Nexus 7 2013 WiFi on a 2 din frame on a mazda MX5. I want to completely remove the current head unit and use the nexus 7 2013 for:
- Car diagnostic, via WiFi OBD2 adaptor (see this kickstarter campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obdsol/obdlink-mx-wifi-a-wireless-gateway-to-vehicle-obd)
- FM RDS
- GPS Navigation
- Media player
I mean.. the usual stuff! I'm very noob, but I understand that this project involves the use (at least) of a USB DAC, a USB FM receiver (or even DVB if needed), a USB 3G modem, and the proper ROM to manage all this.
I've read a lot of car installations, but they usually refers to the Nexus 7 and the Timur's rom that is not available for the 2013. So, here is the list of questions:
- what is the preferred combination of kernel/rom to accomplish the Nexus 7 2013 car installation properly?
* I don't need the OTG + charging because I'm going to use a Qi charger, but I do need OTG attached devices to work properly, also fast boot would be nice
* I want to edit the softkey area with shortcut to app, is that possible? and with wich ROM?
- can I use my Galaxy Nexus as 3G modem in USB tethering configuration? I need the connection to be on the USB since I'm using the WiFi for OTG diagnositc
- How to turn on the Nexus 7? I mean, the power button will be behind the 2DIN panel, is there a ROM that turn on the device automatically when it is connected to the power?
In one single question: what is the best ROM for the in car installation of a Nexus 7 2013?
Thank you for every answer!

If you have to ask this questions, better don't even start. Do this only if you know very well what you are doing, have a lot of time and passion (so it's a hobby). If you want a functional Android head unit for your car search eBay, Aliexpress and other sites you will find plug-in models with proper faceplate including hard buttons and even CAN bus for steering wheel controls if your car has this. There are threads in this forum about some of more popular units (like Ouku and S150 for example; They come as standard general units and as car specific kits).
If you still want to do it , just a tip, your Qi charger probably will not work. Even a lot of USB chargers out there (even ones which say they provide 2.1 A) do not keep the unit charges (will slowly discharge when using GPS). Did you really see this solution working for a car install or just think it will work ?
Anyway, this is just one of the many other problems you will face. Good luck.

Planning on doing the same in my 2010 Honda Fit. An answer for the rom... same as always there is not a "best" rom. Its all about what you prefer. I am going to stay as close to stock as possible because that is what I like. I will be doing some searches to find which kernel/rom supports usb audio out... beyond that should just be preference. Current plan is to browse xda and see if a slimport usb to hdmi is an option then hdmi to 5.1 channels of rca connectors then out to the amps.

i believe bruce2728's rom has usb 3g stick support. tested it briefly but then got a Wifi based LTE receiver which I could take out of the car too. Charges just like a phone.

yes, i am using two car chargers in parallel from the battery. one to power the hub and one to power the tablet. theoretically i need one, but that just reduces the load on the cigarette lighter chargers so they last longer.
i also added an inline 7.5A fuse for everything i am adding. additionally safety just cuz i think i know it all

USB Audio

Can anyone confirm that USB audio output works? Either with a DAC or car head unit will do. Just want to make sure...
Also interested in this question, as I found that USB audio does not work on Nexus 5 and 9 after update to 6.0.
My setup: Nexus 5/9 > USB DAC/amp > headphones. Works fine with 5.1.1.
Actually, it only works on 6.0 with USB Audio Player Pro app, which uses its own driver. It doesn't work with other apps (e.g. Spotify)

Good news! Does it work right out of the box, or does it require some settings?
I am trying to connect to my car via. iSimple Lightning connection to Aukey USB Type C (CB-A3). "The connection does Rapid Charge Nexus 5X"
How do I set the phone to send music from an app like: Amazon Music or Pandora, to the car though USB Type C port?

Any one else have any experience with the 5X and any other available DACs? I was looking at the Cambridge Audio XS but I haven't been able to find any mention of it working with 6.0.1

T800 - No USB Sound

Hello,
Not sure how much you guys experiment with external audio gear
Basically i have been trying to send sound through external audio interfaces (USB OTG compliant sound cards)
and not able to do so on the TAB S
I can see when device connected (OTG compliant device) , sound stops coming out of speakers and redirected to USB, no sound is actually coming out
only one very old very simple usb sound card stick that worked
It is not powered issue as all the one's i tested (Pioneer Wego 3 for example) have own power source
I tried with Kitkat 4.4 , stock rom 5.0.2 , CM 12.1 5.1.1, Marshmellow 6.0.1 nothing works
I would love some insight maybe suggesting different rom or kernel
Thanks

How to get USB audio to work with Galaxy S9 (patch or something similar)?

Hi there!
Purchased a Galaxy S9 (Android Pie) for my wife and tried to connect it to our car's audio system. The song and its time line is displayed on the screen of car's audio system but the sound won't go thru USB cable. The phone is using its own loudspeaker. Checked the developer options USB section but there's not an option such as "audio".
I have a Galaxy Note 8 (Android Oreo) and it works just perfectly with our car's audio system as well all other USB-C equipped Android phones we have.
Read a topic on Samsung support website where they're (Samsung staff) blaming car's audio system even though there are lots of users who complain about the similar issue.
Does anyone have a patch to fix that issue or do I have to flash Lineage or some custom ROM to my wife's device?
Thanks in advance
You could flash it back to Oreo until Pie is fixed

My biggest concern is that they won't fix it. They'd rather try to sell Galaxy S10 than fix it.
Maybe Lineage would work better than the stock ROM.
This is not a bug, they removed the setting. It was very good to send the Phone Audio to the PC via USB.
Did you try unlocking the secret developers options and seeing if there's a setting there you can change?

Isudar PX6 + Alfa Romeo 159 canbus information

Hey Guys,
I'm planning to buy Isudar PX6 Alfa Romeo version.
I've got some some questions before i go for it:
* Why this device is not able to read information via canbus like AC status, head lights status and door status etc? As I know only the steerting wheel control works.
* I would like to keep the Blue and Me installed in the system. This means that Blue and Me line out should go to MTCU Aux in. Is that possible to switch to aux automatically when line level signal detected?
* I'm not really sure about the sound quality. I was told the sound of the DSP version is excellent. How is the sound compared to the OEM HU?
Thanks,

Headlight On/Off works and will switch Day/Night mode on the HU
The SWC controls only work partly (FF(Next) / RW(Prev); SRC; Vol+/-;Mute). Call Button always rejects the calls.
Never tried keeping the B&M system, however i expect you might experience issues with controling B&M and the HU.
Sound quality is ok, however depending if you have Bose or not you need to connect the HU differently (No Bose: use stock ISO connector, with BOSE you should connect via the RCA connector to skip the pre-amp in the HU_
