every time there is a msg comes in, FC happens, no vibration, no notification sound, but the msg still comes through.
Things I modded and changed
I followed @spiderio thread added some mods, and changed DPI to 560;
I am deleting my msgs, there are over 3000 msgs in the phone, I'll try to clean it out and see if it works;
I changed dpi for sms/smspush/mms back to stock(640);
does anyone know what happened to my phone? this FC is very frustrating……I might miss important messages, T.T
Wrong forum. Try posting in help.

Changing the DPI will give you random FC's in system apps that come with the G3.
You can always install an app that takes over the default SMS app and that way should be a workaround.

The FC was caused by dual DPI settings.
buildprop was 560 and systemUI was 525, somehow it crashed sms, maybe it is the pop-up notification, who knows.
anyway it has been solved by flashing the KDZ, bah~~~
thanks anyway mate!

Just a quick question here, I tried having a look for an existing thread relating to it but no luck.
On my Desire HD I have a bit of a messaging issue. About 50% of the time when I receive an SMS it doesnt notify me in anyway. The only way I will find out I have these messages is by going into the messages folders itself. The other 50% of the time it notifys as normal - sound, led and icon in top bar.
Any ideas here?
Cheers
Ronan
what ROM are you running or is it stock??
it could be that you need to change The LED settings in the App itself or under settings depending on what ROM you are running.

I just recently switched to Go SMS from Handscent. Mainly because it has been taken off the market. Anyways, Go SMS is fine but I have one minor gripe. When receiving a picture and opening it, it opens in its own stupid viewing program. I hate it cause it downsizes the picture super small forcing you to hit the zoom button 5 times to see it. So far I just hit the save button then open Quikpic and view it there, but is there a way to make it just use Quikpic straight from the message like all other message apps do?
Settings/MMS settings/preserve image resolution. That might solve your image size issues. Don't know how to get it to open in another app for viewing. Suppose you could long press the image.
yeah that didnt help. I see handscent is back on the market maybe i will switch back.
I use go on my EVO and I dont notice any decrease in res I long press message then save attachment to sd

I didn't want to start another GoSMS thread, so:
Does anyone else use a custom ROM and your SMS notification no longer lights up after receiving a text in GoSMS? I used to get a blue LED, flashed ACS ICS v4, and now I can never tell when I get a text!
Thanks!

Ha! whoops thought I was in my EVO forum..
Same applies though could be a rom specific bug my wife has gosms with cleangb rom and no problems.. Tinker around with your setting for GO SMS and even double check native SMS settings for any conflicts

I have the same issues with my GO SMS. I'm also on ACS ICS V5.1. I think it's just specific to the rom itself. I just switched it back from blue to red led flash. It's not blue, but at least it still notifies me.

I have GOSMS and running ACS ICS 5.5. Changed my LED to blue and it lights up and flashes just fine. I'm sure it's in the settings but when I get a MMS, I recieve notification from GO SMS and the Stock Messenging app. I have GO SMS set up to turn off all other notifications but MMS still comes through on both.
anybody got black text on the notification bar? I got some black text, can't read it at all.. any help?
Which apps are you having the issue with? There could be a setting within the app to change it. Otherwise the offending apps are probably built on old api's and need to be updated.

I think so, but sometimes Apps do not use the default color ;-)
I have the same problem using other apps, just wait for an update (or contact the dev to tell him, he may not have ICS).
okay, thanks for the advice, i will try to email them..
but, is there anybody else have the same problem with the same application, which in this case Beejive?
Are you rooted? because I had something similar happen to me I had to do a wipe and it went away...
yeah.. i already rooted, even changing ROM.. but still, the problem persist..
I had the same problem yesterday when I received a couple of notifications from score mobile... All black, I couldn't see nothing I had no choice to click on them too see what team was playing.

Weatherbug did it to me. But I switched to 1Weather, so no more unreadable weather notifications.
Is there an easy way to disable the Sense Message app? It does not let to disable it in the App Settings.
Thanks

Did you try to freeze it with Titanium backup ? But i dont understand why you want to disable it
Is it because....
.....you have installed another messaging app and you're getting multiple notifications?
Thanks for the reply. Titanium Backup cannot freeze it.
I want to disable it as I'm using a replacement app and whenever I receive a SMS I get it twice, once in both apps. The fix is to disable the stock message app, but I can't see how to do it

Hmm i am not sure about this app ... but you can disable notifications in the stock messaging app: open stock messenger --> settings --> notifications and there you can disable everything
Thanks again for the reply, but the notification isn't the problem. I get the message twice, in the both apps. So in both stock and the ICS Messaging I get the message twice.
I tried turning off notifications and it didn't help (worth a try though )

Oh, now i understand No, its not possible ... all the message apps are working on the base of the stock (i think), thats why you cant disable it.
You could try to set a wrong Service center number in the original app, and the right SCN in the one you will use give it a try and report back
There seems to be no way to set the SCN in the ICS app, so no go on that one. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll just have to go back to stock, no biggie

To be honest, i dont even know whats the difference between that two apps, the stock one looks great to ... the only thing why i use GoSMS is that you can block messages and set a private box, and theres no message/call blocker that can satisfy my needs for now ... i like the stock one more, but what can i do
You can't disable the sense message app but you can turn the notifications off if you go to SMS - settings - messages
i had the exact same problem, i just disabled notifications from the message apps settings and now i'm only getting one notification from ICS messenger
very happy !!
Is there any SMS app that enables you to quick reply in the notification pull down? I understand the CM10 and AOKP roms have this built in, but is this available for Touchwiz? I tried installing the app on Touchwiz but it crashes every time i try to send or receive a MMS. Thanks in advance for any help.
Try Handcent, that's what I use.... You get pop up notification plus short view of the message in notification screen.
