Hi there,
I consider to root my HTC Buzz Wildfire but to be honest the Wildfire General is a little confusing:where do I have to start:

Hi Dzepar,
Thanks for the hint, I've used [REF/GUIDE] [17/11] The Complete Wildfire Index, cause there where some bad links link in your suggestion.
Unfortunately I'm half away now and stucked.
I followed this video in the REF/GUIDE above (sorry, as a new user I can't post the direct link)
My situation:
Preperations like, download all files, driver install, de-install sync, USB Debugging ON, Charge only etc. are all done.
- ClockworkMod Recovery for Revolutionary v4.0.1.4 is installed
- I can boot into the "Custom Recovery Image"
- I can scroll to "Mount and Storage"
- I cant get Root access > 7.56 in the video
All I see is the bold blue letters "REVOLUTIONARY" in the display
It's the same with all other options; I can scroll to that option, but when selecting with the power button, those blue letters REVOLUTIONARY are displaying.
Any suggestions?

Did you try rooting with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396?
And update CWM mine is 5.0.2.0

Hi Dzepar,
Thanks for reading and the hint. That's a full extended guide too with mostly the same steps. At the moment the phone is rooted. I see the options like:
- reboot system now
- apply update from sdcard
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- install zip from sdcard
etc.
I can scroll to these options, but when I push the power button, nothing happens ...except the screen with the word REVOLUTIONARY.

about that, try pressing trackball also you can navigate with it. All the Best

Trackball? I've read about it in some posts but it's not clear for me: Is it a piece of software or a hidden button?

Do you have rounded button on the bottom of your phone under soft buttons?

Oops something went wrong. When I power the phone the only thing I see is a white screen with the green HTC letters.
I can access the recovery image..... Did I wipe too much?
Edit: It Works! Some more info:
I've installed Kool-Elia-JoyOS-v3.0.zip and after the message "install completed"
I did a reboot and the phone came with a Apple icon and that was all.
After a minute or so the system started
All I had to do was "be patient"
Kind regards

Yeah you have to be patient here and read a lot and you can find almoust anything if you search I rearly ask questions.

[Tutorial] Circle battery plus amazing effects for all roms

This is a mod that will replace your battery to circle battery and add beautiful effects to your wildfire s. Works on all roms
Requirements: S-OFF, rooted, custom recovery
Instructions:
1. Copy attached zip file to sdcard
2. Boot into custom recovery
3. Select install zip from sdcard
4. then choose zip from sdcard
5. then select my attached file and apply update.
6. after finish reboot and see the changes.
Working but the icon battery is to big to fit in taskbar. Sides and bottom are croped.
Is there a way to fix it ?
It fits in the taskbar, it can't be smaller cause it's circle, and if it's smaller like the other icons you won't be able to see battery status.

raughing out roud, are you in froyo or something, I think it only works on gingerbread 2.3.3 wildfire s, also your clock seems to be expanded.
here mine how it looks
I've installed official RUU_Marvel_HTC_Europe_1.30.401.0_Radio_47.10.35.3029H_7.46.35.08_release_183799 on my device.
It's gingerbread because of 2.3.3 version.
It's strange... Any idea ?
Maybe it's the font you installed, try changing it back. or it might be the launcher.
To be sure I made a backup and install ROM again.
I applied your file after rooting installed and it's the same problem...
Thanks for this, very nice.

+1 Same here, also on GB 2.3.2
Mines weird too. It's four triangles surrounding a white circle.
Sent from my rooted and booted, longlife Wildfire S
I think it comes from ROM version.
I update my ROM with this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260590
Now, I've no problem.
Hmm, I have the same weird problem that it looks too big.
I am on HTC Stock Rom 2.3.3.
Any Idea of how to uninstall this fix since I think Restoring my Titanium Backup won't do the trick no?
I will try also on your last Rom

its working on s-on unlocked original 2.3.5 eu rom too?
Hi Jikantaru.
I tried the same with the UOT Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/ and the 1.1 EU Rom from your kitchen and i have the same problem. The circle is a square...
Which Rom was the source for the framework-res in your file?

Should be volume down not up mate.
Power off, pull the battery, re-insert the battery, hold volume down and press power.
Should load the bootlader
Wait for bootloader to search for updates then select recovery.
Hopefully it works for you mate.

CWM 4.0.1.4 not working?

Well, I followed the method here:
http://theunlockr.com/2011/08/02/ho...android-phone-using-the-revolutionary-method/
To get S-OFF, flash a custom recovery (Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4), and got root.
Now, when I go into the CWM (it seems to work):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And then select anything (e.g. backup and restore), it just displays the background:
And doesnt do anything. Pressing the power button simply brings it back to the previous screen (shown above).
Funny thing is, I did manage to install the root zip through CWM earlier, then used Titanium backup, rebooted, and now this happens What's going on. Should I try flashing recovery again?

Just an FYI, flashing superwipe I got no error but trying to flash RHCPs rom update I get the following error.
Code:
assert failed: !less_than_int(1325725955, getprop("ro.build.data.utc"))
E: Error in /sdcard/rhcp.zip (Status 7)
Going back to the other CWrecovery this goes away.

looks promising
suggestions for OP or FAQ:
- can this tool unlock the bootloader?
- if yes what hboot versions does it support (i assume it would need to be an unlockable hboot with 'locked' in the top, like 1.08.0099 or 1.09.0099 for instance?)
may seem obvious to those who have experience with wfs, but can save a lot of time and questions if they are stated clearly.
i've been reading for AGES in these forums for an easy way to unlock bootloader, root, install cwm recovery, then custom rom for my sisters wfs, this may just be it!
so much easier on htc desire...
Thank you
I have encountered many bugs with visual UI, and pushes, etc..... So there will be a new update within three days, so stay tuned

Sadly can't root or unlock with this tool...
I have Wildfire S AC10e (actually its AC10b as it has special frequency (i.e. 850Mhz))
Hboot: 1.03.0000
Android: 2.3.3
I have been searching everywhere to get it unlocked and such... but just can't
BTW I have noticed that you use taccoroot... I tried using a temproot that uses zergrush and it worked (until I rebooted as it is a temproot) so maybe you could use that to somehow unlock it or something... IDK as I am no developer
PS: I can't update as I have a telstra wildfireS and it has no OTA's available

or is any option to upgrade HBOOT to 0.93?
Use official 2.3 HTC RUU, it will upgrade hboot to 1.02.0001 and you can then use revolutionary.
BTW. What ROM you had installed when you were trying to S-OFF?

Requirements:
The only requirement right now is that the ROM you're running is rooted.

Please revert to a rooted stock ROM if possible. Your /data partition is used for temporary storage of important files.
