Problem with bloatware after installing ROM from different country - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
Yesterday I tried on my G3 855 to install various firmwares from different regions in Europe.
Tried Italian 10G, Europe Open 10E, German 10A, French 10A.
some of them I installed via TOT file and some via KDZ. Similar and simple way both of them. Every of them had some bloatware.
PROBLEM!
Every of that different firmwares worked OK but what happened...when installed UK rom i got BLOATWARE from ORANGE telecom.
After that I erased that one and installed another EU rom and I got TELENOR bloatware.
After that i installed new ITALIAN 10G rom and I got VODAFONE + bloatware from every rom that was before on my LG....
Before new rom I always fully erased memory.
What the hell?
After first initialisation of every ROM my LG automatically downloads all the bloatware from the past roms. So now i am having Vodafone, Orange, Telenore end etc. bloatware that I cannot remove.
Also after rom reinstalling after first initialisation again bloatware is automatically installed.
HELP!
Thank you

Ahh this issue! It happend to me with any KDZ. If i flashed without the sim in, as soon as i insert it and reboot BOOM 40 apps start installing, wallpaper changes etc The eaisest fix is to flash the Sphinx ROM. It seems to somehow debloat and un brand our device even after a kdz flash. Even if i flash the three uk kdz, my g3 remains unbranded.

@kmatisic
root then Look in the /data/.OP folder for a carrier folder and delete it then the bloatware will be no more.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I installed SPHINX and with this rom no bloatware. good.
After that i reinstalled stock rom. I thought that all the bloatware will not come back.
But...after initializing, 102 application automatically started to download. More that 100 bloatware apps!!! Again...
From where they are downloaded? Like LG is looking my IMEI number and says OK for this IMEI lets start to download 100+ useless apps.
So it looks that I am stuck with bloatware if wanted to use stock rom. I tried erasing via root but again they are back with any kind of rom update or etc.
I really do not understand anymore.
thx

Do I need to delete this folder after all the bloatware is installed and then to maybe reinstall rom again or?
Thx very much

Try just doing a reboot on the phone first after deleting it but from memory I think it only works if flashing/wiping again.

Do not delete the entire .OP folder. There's LG stuff in there that needed to be installed. Just look inside the folder for the folder containing all the bloatware and delete that one alone. It's easy to spot has all the bloatware apk files inside Normaly the name resembles to carrier names.
Then do a factory resert and all bloatware will be gone (you can re-install firmware just in case )

I made that mistake once by deleting the entire folder... never again.

its on /data/.OP

Thank you all! :good:
Interesting what happened in last 2 hours:
- i installed again sphinX and I was bloatware free
- after that i reinstalled stock 855 10a rom and after initialization bloatware was again here (100+ apps from Vodafone, Orange, Telenor...)
- then back to sphinX. Tried your way to find this .OP folder but no luck. Maybe ther is no .OP folder in SphinX?
- then again reinstalled to try Italian 10g rom and no bloatware download after first startup? Still now after 15 minutes bloatware is not reinstalling by itself.
I do not understand, but now - in this moment no bloatware on Italian 10g (HUTCHISON) rom for me.
Strange but I will not complain
UPDATE:
Installed desired apps and changed setting as I desire on this 10G rom. I have zero bloatware apps.
Didnt root still.

(Solved +/-) [Q] Missing LG Quick apps

The strangest thing happened to my G3. I had it rooted and since i was having a few problems with bloatware from my carrier MEO from Portugal) i decided to install the stock version to see if i could get rid of it. Installed .kdz file for V10a-EUR-XX and did a factor reset.
After that i still have all the bloatware of my carrier but lost root and all the Quick apps from LG (Quick Note, Q remote, and probably a few more and cant remember the name). Now getting it rooted again is easy, but where can i find those apps again since they aren't on Play Store?
Can someone help me out?

Solution i found was to install a new firmware, installed the V10g and the apps where back and the bloatware was gone.

New G3 extra software?

I just got a G3 “D855” and I noticed it got bunch of European software on it for orange, sfr….etc is all of them like that? Check SC below
Thanks
Lucky you, usually one can get only Orange or SFR or none.
Looks like you got double bloatware.. Congrats xD

Root your phone with Purpledrake. Download System App Removal from play store (red icon) and uninstall what you want
Install bumpd twrp and flash AndroidHD or Cloudy

Kind of new to LG "sorry"
Took it to the store earlier they said they have a new clean stock ROM that has nothing on.....Ran an update that took a few min then after wiping I got the same customization stuff back once the data start to sync I'm also now at 4.4.2 instead of 4.4.3 tried OTA sw update it says I have the latest. How can I get 4.4.3 update now?
Thanks!!!!
As far as i know there is no 4.4.3. And for the bloatware, it's firmware independent. That means the bloat is already on your phone in a hidden folder.

LG G3 will not have 4.4.3 update, but by the end of 2014 will receive 5.0 update for D855 international version.
You can either flash a stock .kdz by entering your imei and download it from LG's website here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI HERE
Or flash a custom rom like CloudyG3. Please see the forums for more info on that. Also you can get rid of it by atleast rooting your device and throwing the APK's away, or as I like to do I root my device, install Titanium and batch uninstall all the apps at once and ta-da a clean phone

Weirdly that doesn't work, I had the same issue before and when you flash any kdz as soon as it booted it downloaded a **** load of carrier apps from Germany xD There is a folder that the flash does not erase, if you delete that it gets rid of it for good. (Hopefully)

Problems changing Rom
Hi guys I seem to be hitting a problem. I have a d855 uk version of he g3 branded to Vodafone uk.
No matter which rom I install it will always stay the same branded version. For example if i flash euro 10A it will become a Vodafone version of 10A not the generic euro version. I have tried uK specific kdz and euro ones, even tot files the same thing happens it will downgrade to the version of my carrier specific rom.
I don't know what else to do it flashes ok just never makes it stock with no carrier branding. Any ideas. Thanks guys.
This doesnt go here as a start but have you tried flashing a stock rom like androidnow ......

it will always stay branded, as soon as you go online your imei is checked and because it is marked as vodafone, the vodafone apps will start downloading automatically. just delete /data/.op everytime also this is clearly an question so post it next time in the q&a section
Ok thanks will do. One question though when flashing from a kdz it does not go online so how does it know to download.

If your flashing KDZ then your flashing a stock rom, All stock roms are carrier specific and have the bloat.
Here are your options:
1. Manually remove bloat.
2. Use a script to remove bloat.
3. Use a custom rom that's already debloated.
thats the thing though i flash a carrier specific rom and it just gets changed to my carriers rom

[Q] how to delete celular company apps?

Looking for Original ROM. V10E German 32gb.

Hi everyone,
I have been looking high and low for the original rom for my phone.
I downloaded the v10e TOT file and flashed it but it doesent seem to be the one I had on my phone.
It used to say V10E-EUR-XXX under software info but with the TOT files I flashed it now says V10E-GLOBAL... Which doesent make any sense.
Tried all sorts of Diff TOT versions and it always ends up saying global.
And as soon as I install my sim card it installs apps from every carrier known to man, its over 200 apps and I have less than 1gb of storage left after its installed all the crap. Meaning I cant even install whatsapp.
The problem seems to be that all of the sites currently hosting roms for the G3 are not the original versions from LG, and the lg site itself seems to no longer exist.
My phone wont update either, even with V10A running, under software update is always says its running the latest version. Im assuming its because the rom is pointing to the older LG servers which are no longer online?
I used XDM to pull some of the roms from the old LG servers and these are working fine. It shows as EUR and not GLOBAL and it doesnt install a million carrier apps. But I can only find 30C or newer, I cant find the V10E. Seems its not up on the server anymore.
And only these KDZ files actually show as EUR and dont install other apps. All the ones from mylgphones.com and storagecow.eu etc etc all show up as GLOBAL and not EUR and install unwanted apps. Oh and almost all of the apps it installs cant be removed. So the phone becomes unusable due to lack of internal storage.
SO my question is, does anyone here have the V10E German 32GB Original LG KDZ file??
I would Greatly Appreciate it if someone could upload it for me!
