hi all
i have a copy of the ICS phone and contacts apk's from here
BUT i'm not able install the apk's as the installer complains that there is a apk with the same name....
i've looked in /system/app and can;t see phone.apk or contacts.apk anywhere.
Can anyone please assist ?
Did you ever figure this out? I would like to keep my stock touchwiz rom with the multiwindow feature, but I would much prefer, the vanilla ics/jb phone and contacts app.
Hello All,
I tried to get ATT Visual Voicemail on my phone.
I was advised to change the build.prop to this.
ro.product.model=SCH-I317
ro.product.name=t0lteatt
ro.product.device=t0lteatt
However when i did that, i was able to download the app but could not make phone calls. So I changed the build.prop back i was able to make calls but not the app doesn't work. A little help?
hi all,
I searched and looked out for few call recording apk like Total Recall, Sanity, Call recorder but most of them are not working with my mobile. Either they are not recording the calls through the line ie i need to enable speaker mode to record OR file format (.3gp or Mpg4) are shown as invalid format when i try to play the recordings.
I have rooted my mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 I747 (AT&T, Canada) to Android 4.2.2. I found an interesting article "HOW TO: Enable Call Recording in Samsung Galaxy S3" in Techsplurge forum but the files are valid only for Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-19300), so i am a bit skeptical.
I would love to have a simple call recording solution inbuilt in "Dialer" menu (as shown in attachment) instead of me selecting a different apk. Can anyone please suggest me the changes that i need to do in update-script or provide me with flash file or .tar file relevant for I747 mobile.
Thanks

S3Rx and Dandroid offer this for sure and there might be a few other ROMs as well in the Android development forum
hope this helps
I believe if you grab the LK4 phone.apk from our ROM and put it in yours you will unlock call recording
you can do this as follows
Download Dandroid
Open the zip of you're ROM and my rom (Dandroid) in 7zip
browse to /system/app and replace secphone.apk from my ROM with you're ROM and you should be good to go
I would provide the APK but I just formatted and I'm updating my OS

Hi Dandh,
Thanks for your reply.
Will it be a good idea to directly replace apk file in ROM? I mean, by doing this i hope i dont brick my phone or land into some other issue? What if I try to execute this new apk directly in my mobile without replacing it through boot process?
Also, please send me Dandroid rom link for I747, just to ensure i dont mess up with wrong rom...
Thanks.
Will :Copying Secphone.apk Work For Stock, But Rooted, SGH-i747 Firmware, Too?

Greetings!
I have a similar issue, in that I want to have Call Recording enabled in the dialer.
'
My solution is to use the Xposed Framework and the Call Recording Module. This solution, however, only works with my SGH-i747's (AT&T-US) stock firmware that I have rooted.
I also am playiing around with--via Nandroid backup, back-and-forth--the latest beta of Paranoid Android. I installed Xposed Framework and the Call Recording Module as usual, but it doesn't appear in the PA dialer screen, like it does during a call--either incoming or outgoing--regular firmware's dialer.
So my question is, will using the Dandroid "Secphone.apk" package possibly open this up for me? I really love the latest PA Beta! It's been very stable on my phone, and a bit faster than the stock firmware. It's just that, I Love Both! (Fickle, I know!) I enjoy the quickness of the PA Beta, but also love the polished aspect of the original firmware.
Enabling Call Recording in my PA Rom--as well as doing something about the soft volume level (App Recommendations For This Welcome!) would do much to make it my default ROM.
I know this thread is a bit dated, so I know Patience Is A Virtue!
Thanks for the help!

Hi
I was using Wanam for some time. Now I would like to use only one function - Call recording. Is there any way to activate it on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Stock Rom, without instaling Wanam and framework ? Of course I got Root access.
I want to keep my system as clean as possible. Without any additional apps. Anyone know how this Wanam app do the trick ? I was trying to do some changes in other.xml file - no result. I was trying to replace SecPhone.apk - no result (maybe I was trying with wrong version). I think Wanam is doing some changes in files, but I dont know what exactly is changed....
I just recently switched my stock rom to be deodexed and I'm now looking at the possibility of theming and mods for my rom.
I already have a little experience modding the signal icons on a different Android device, and I've already downloaded a mod from this forum that turns part of the stock dialer to a holo dark/material theme, but I want to do more with it.
So far I can't seem to find a good tutorial on how to properly mod system files, especially knowing that the stock rom on the Moto G is a Motorola variant of Android KitKat, and not AOSP or similar, although it's close enough that I figure some mods might work since many Xposed modules for AOSP work fine on my stock rom.
Would it be safe to look for a tutorial based on AOSP 4.4.4, or does anyone know a good place to learn the proper way to modify and theme a Motorola stock rom?

get apktool
with this decompile your apks you want to theme/mod
hapy theming! (there plenty of tutorials of how to edit images or the .9 patch files. with gimp etc.. just search )
after that recompile, if you just have edited some images (ressources) pull them afterwards from the new COMPILED apk out in a folder.
take the original apk & open with 7zip & pull the edited stuff into the right directions.
if you have done some advanced modification such as in values folder, you need after the new apk is compiled, open it with 7zip & pull from the original app the meta-inf folder into the new compiled one (singing) after tthat replace it on that phone
