Hello guys, I've recently flashed TWRP recovery and tried to flash a 4.4 Kitkat rom onto my device.
I have a problem trying to install the rom. It keeps saying that there is no MD5 found.
And also could not create file for updater extract in /tmp/updater.
I've got everything that the rom requires such as the Hboot and Ext part. What's the issue here?
I've tried installing a lot of other roms but it keeps giving me this same error, I also can't flash 4ext using the flash from zip or anything. I always recieve the same error.

You could try disabling signature checking from recovery.

Hi everyone,
I hv tried to flash a rom in my DHD which is called Icecoldsandwich 8.7.1, and it is sucessful,
but then I failed to recognise my SIM card and thats why I tried some lastest ver. of that rom,
and tried some other rom(Just like Viper),
I tried to flash the kernel which Viper provided and I failed to operate my mobile
even when I tried to flash the factory stock rom I failed also,
Here is the information of my DHD

You can not factory reset the phone when running a custom rom. Do the following, choose a custom rom you like from the dev section and flash it again. Don't forget to flash the boot.img in fastboot.
If you don't have recovery (CWM or 4EXT) anymore, then flash one again. Use the guide in my signature to find out how to do it. Hope it helps. :good:
Flashed a new recovery over, tried to install supersu from a rooting process. Rebooted into recovery then backed up rom, formatted everything etc. tried to install several different roms using TWRP and Clockwordmod. CWM gave me a status 7 error and TWRP gave me the error updating binary script. It also said that i had no root and would like to install super su to root it. i said yes and then rebooted and it still did nothing. the only thing i can install are GAPPS files and files that ARENT ROMS. Im stuck and I need desperate help on how to fix this. ODIN wont flash the stock rom thats a tar file but will flash recoveries. PLEASE HELP ME
When I try to install a rom it wont install system files it skips over them only to extract some apps which means no bootup.
Any suggestions?
I've tried to install stock and then wipe and then install a rom and i still get same result however sometimes when i flash stock with odin i get fail at the very end whether it be for HLOS file or modem...
I think i can fix this if i wipe my partitions and get them partitioned again.. or maybe one of Odin's tick marks could help??

More information is needed. What version of stock are you running? Are you rooting your phone? Are you installing a custom recovery? Which custom recovery are you using? Name at least one rom other then stock you've tried to install and how you tried to install it. I would guess no one has responded because they don't have the information needed to give you the help you are asking for.

Im having the same problem too I cant seem to install no rom other then the backup of my Stouck MDL...I tired installing wicked rom and of course it got stuck at the Samsung screen and i did everything when it came to wiping it ....sooo the i tried insane KItKat and that to as well got stuck on boot and im on the latest TWRP 2.7.0.1 recovery running MDL stock
I've tried to install with CWM Recovery by OUDSH and TWRP and no luck I've tried installing WickedRom Hyperdrive and GE by Kot49H I can only install stock with Odin and the reason its not installing is because its avoiding the extraction of system files to the phone.
Hey guys, I am having serious issue in installing DN3 and phoenix rom. I am getting an error unable to open zip file error in recovery. I have tried twrp cwm and philz recovery, but getting the same error.
I have tried downloading the roms directly to phone , still the same problem. I reinstalled the os of my laptop and downloaded the rom and copied to phone and flashed. Still fail.
I formatted my phone SD card and downloaded the rom again. Still fail.
I am able to flash rest of the roms, please help me find the root cause. Thanks in advance

Trying to flash several ROMs on the latest version of Teamwin, and even a lower version after reading that it helped someone. Had to use ODIN recently and went back to a bone stock ROM, and now I rooted it and am trying to flash a custom ROM. Trying the latest SlimROM, Liquid, CM11, no luck.
Teamwin is saying "E: Error in /external_sdcard/ROM NAME
(Status 7)
Error flashing zip ' /external_sdcard/ROM NAME
Updating partition details. . ."
Any ideas before I re-ODIN my phone and go back to using a stock ROM?
Alright, I installed a JB stock ROM with bootloader via ODIN and I'll use this until tomorrow when I have more time. I'll re-root it, get a proper 4.3 ROM and give it a shot.
Did you give CWM a try?
Is there a reason your trying to use twr specifically?
