Does anyone have a fix for mms receiving issues on gee. I'm running DU 4.4.4 running the Franco kernel. I can't receive any mms group texts from an iPhone. It is crazy frustrating. I've run hello, voice, Go sms, and hangouts and I get no joy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks y'all.

I'm not sure if it's an app issue but if it is, try 8sms. Might have to look at settings for that app. I think I changed the receive to always instead of just WiFi or data. But either way my brother has an iPhone and just sent a group text to my cousin and I. We both got the MMS.
That seems to have fixed it thanks.

Glad it works for you now. Hangouts doesn't work well for MMS period at the moment so I would stay away from that for texts/MMS.

Hello everybody I been having trouble sending mms over 3g. 4g and wifi work perfectly fine but 3g doesn't send for me. Could somebody test this out first before posting your opinion thanks. I've tried Calkium's 1.6, Venuim's latest ROM version 0.1.1, cyanogen mod 9 alpha 4, and paranoid Android 1.3. Pretty much any ROM I have tried.

Which Rom? More details always helps those trying to help you at the other end
Edit: Works for me, it might be Sprint's network at the time? Try GoSMSPro if you are using CM9, AOKP or MIUI, I even use it with TW roms

Mms is a multimedia message like a picture.. sms is text message.. mms uses data to send.. and love how the op asks for thanks when hes asking the community for help lol.. gosms works wonders but on paranoid android sendig works fine through the mms.apk .. use gosms to receive if you have issues.. i havent used handcent in ages

It does on our phone! I'm not sure if it's a Samsung thing but the E4GT does send mms on wifi. However if I disable the stock messaging app thru Handcent it would no longer work on wifi or 4g and sticks to 3g only..

Incorrect. MMS is only sent over 1x/3g in the stock messaging app. If you are in wifi or 4g it will activate 3g to send/receive the mms. Third party messaging apps have been known to work over wifi though.

Sorry but I'm not incorrect. My phone sends mms on wifi and 4g.. I can disable my 3g and send a mms thru 4g or wifi with no issue. I've tested this plenty of times and it works. It's a feature that kicked in on el29. Back in the previous builds it worked the way u mentioned but not anymore.. At least not on my phone.

I'm having the same issue. I'm on Calk's last ICS ROM and i have updated the mmsc URL for my carrier (credo mobile) but I cannot send MMS on 3g. I can however, on 4G and Wi-fi.
And I do not have "handcent".

I really doubt you're sending MMS over wifi or 4G, as MMS only travels over the 3G network and in some cases the 1x network.
Download Go SMS Pro, and in the MMS settings area, enter your carriers MMS apn and see if you can send.

Hi guys. For some reason, I cannot get a text message from my friend who is using textplus for texting. She can get my messages but I cannot get hers. She is using a HTC Vivid on ATT and can text/ receive texts from everyone else but me. I can also text everyone else and get their replies except hers.
Don't know if its an issue with my phone or her end.
I'm running Calkulins E4GT EL29 GB rom and using GoSMS pro for my texting app.

Do u have Google voice installed? And have you tried the stock messaging app?

Google voice is not installed or in use. Still no response on stock messages. =\
Able to respond to her by making a textplus account and texting back with it.
*edit* Interesting.. i can't text myself with the textplus app either
You may wanna call sprint......had that same issue once and they did a reset on their end my tetxs started flowing.

Go SMS Pro has the same issue. Can receive them fine but can't send. Have to use the stock messenger

i am on jbsourcery 4.0 which is now android 4.2.1 and my handscent works fine. i restored it from titanium, not a fresh download. not sure if that matters.
try going into the settings and setting it to default messenger.
Chomp sms also had this issue, I saw it listed on their FAQ. Supposedly they're working on a fix.

You are able to send and receive MMS Picture messages fine? Can you share any special settings perhaps?
I can't comment on handcent, but in gosms I had to enter the apn settings again within the app itself. I can send and receive fine. Not sure if handcent has a setting like that too

Just got off gtalk with handcent & servers have been updated & mms is working fine on att lte apns now! Hell yea! They keep a 5 day cache of apn settings so you may need to set your date & time ahead a week then send a mms then just change it back!
I am having problems with go SMS and hand cent and crunch SMS getting able to send Mms. The stock app works fine but all the aftermarket ones can't send messages. I am on nexus4 on att. Any suggestions?

Its an Android 4.2 issue, couldn't get Handcent or Chomp to work on my GNex either. Interesting thing I found is if I use Handcent to start a text to a group I have set up then delete Handcent and finish the MMS with the stock app I get an error like "You are not authorized for this service" this is on Straight Talk At&t. If I add each person individually with the stock app the MMS goes through.

Well, ergonomics seem as ****ty as always. Can't understand how I choose between SMS and hangout channels. Typing a name brings out hundreds of "google+ suggestions" I have never heard of, instead of bringing out my local google contacts.

anyone have this working ok in conjunction with the new kitkat launcher/google now? I am getting a lot of hangout FC's. I used the v2 package from this same forum.
Edit: Never mind. Uninstalled the new version and reinstalled and now it's playing nicely.
As far as sms is concerned hangouts works perfectly.

Why hasn't Google implemented quick reply to Hangouts yet? That was something I'd hoped would have come with this latest version. The interactive and expandable notifications are cool to see a full message content, but it sucks having to constantly enter in the new Hangouts app vs. just hitting quick reply or read with the CM 10.2 stock messaging app. I guess I was just spoiled.
On the plus side, I was able to receive an MMS last night, but when sending one, I get an fc. Oh well. Most people who I want to send pictures too have Hangouts and I just share a picture with them instead of MMS for the time being till that is fixed, or the official update is released on the Play Store.
