I rooted and downloaded Smart World. So far I got keyboard themes and Fonts to work, but no luck with home themes. I was wondering if maybe someone else had better luck. I tried moving Smart World and theme apks to system where home app is but that didn't work.

Go to lgworld.com.
Get LG Smartworld apk.
Install.
Get LauncherPro from the Play Store
Choose LG Home Launcher as default.
Add "activities" widget. (it comes with LauncherPro)
Click on widget. Scroll until you see "Home". Click. Choose the "LGHomeHiddenMenuActivity" option (it will say exactly what is in quotes at the end of the option description).
Scroll till you see "Feature_Use_Theme". Check that off. Also check off the options that have to do with themes surrounding it (should be about five or six options).
Click the "home" softkey. Phone may glitch a bit at first. But when you longpress the "menu" softkey, you will see an option that says "Themes".
You can delete the widget and uninstall LauncherPro at this point. The theme feature stays enabled. You don't need LauncherPro to make it work. You just need it to get to the hidden menu.
Go back to LG Smartworld.
Log in (or create an account).
Profit!!! Download all the themes your heart desires. Quite a few steps, but it DOES work on non rooted phones. It sure worked on mine before I rooted. Have a ball.
EDIT: PS, to apply themes, go to "Themes" (long press on menu softkey to get to it). You'll see all the themes you've downloaded. Choose the one you want and click on "apply". Bam.
One more note: some themes are available for LG Home in the Play Store, too. Just search for "LG Home themes". These aren't as nice as the ones in LG Smartworld, but that's just my opinion.

I didn't find a thread dedicated to customizing your lockscreen, tought it might be a good idea to post a quick how-to in case some people didn't know about this yet. I've gotten a lot of help from this community so I wanted to give something back, even if it's something small
So the Widgetlocker app allows you to modify your lockscreen, you can add app shortcuts, widgets, sliders, actions, change the background and a bunch of other stuff.
1. Download the Widgetlocker app.
2. Open the app, get into the "tool mode" (tutorial has a good explanation on the different modes).
3. Long press on the screen and there you can choose to add a custom slider, application shortcut or widget.
4. For custom sliders chose ICS theme to make it look like stock, then long press and click edit. You can add up to 4 different actions/shortcuts/applications.
Here are some screenshots of mine, nothing fancy, just 2 extra sliders with 4 apps each. Added flashlight and sound toggle to the default slider and weather widget below the clock.

When I was looking at reviews of this app on the Market, I noticed some people complaining on battery drain, have you experienced that, or any other negative side effects of using Widgetlocker?

Haven't experienced any battery drain so far. The app was a bit quirky at first but checking the "Root Helper" option in advanced settings and disabling the default lockscreen helps a lot.
Good info for those who don't know about it, gabster21. As an addition, there's eleventy billion (no, really, there's so many that they had to create a new index on Google Docs) WidgetLocker themes in this thread, with support from the dev here. BTW the dev is the always-awesome and responsive [email protected], who is responsible for Nova Launcher, which even in beta whoops the stock launcher's butt, so if you haven't already, be sure to thank hi as well as gabster21 and zHk3R.

I had a look at those earlier but forgot to add that to the first post.. done it now, thanks!
Another cool feature, useful for advanced users (especially those with root): If you go into WL's settings menu and hold the volume-down button for a couple seconds, you get an additional menu of "experimental" settings. But as the title says, they really are experimental, which means they're unsupported and may not work or even break functionality.
When the ICS slider is at the bottom it expands very small, much smaller than the stock bubble (where the selections sit). But when the slider is moved up from the bottom of the grid it expands all the way, giving a longer travel from the center before a toggle is selected. Does anyone know why this is?
EDIT: I would delete this if I could figure out how. The circle expands less because I had a shortcut on the bottom which would get cut off if it expanded more.
Hello droids
I completely forgot how to customize the maingrid of the app.
In my previous setup i had clock, battery % and (eventually) battery status charging (like gabster21 lockscreen)
I need phosphoreus, but how to config again in this way?
Thanks
Ok for now i solved by an experimental function (hold down volume button in settings menu) but i would know still how i did that customization in the maingrid...

I created some image tiles for my home screen; something similar to this:

However I'm trying to make it function more like the Android Market home screen, where you scroll vertically as opposed to horizontally.
I'm using Go Launcher EX and as far as I've gathered none of the launchers I've tried have the option to scroll vertically.
Does anyone know of any launchers that have that ability?
Nice!
When you manage to get that thing together i will test drive the hell out of it for you. Windows 7 themed launcher moves up and down. There may be others though so don't quote me on it

I tried Win 7 Launcher previously but you're only limited to tiles 1x1 or 1x2 & some of the tiles that come preconfigured are locked onto the screen (i.e you can't remove them).
Actually what I'm doing is nothing really more then creating tiles & placing them onto the screen. I wish though that I did know how to create a launcher, I'm just using a pre-existing one, though none have the vertical scrolling feature that I would like.
Can you decompile it make the necessary mods repack sign and test? I know I am making it sound easy. I know nothing of developing so I can be of much help.

You got me there bro as I don't know jack when it comes to Android programming/code.

Dude have you already found yourself a vertical scrolling launcher? I want exactly what you described. It would be AWSOME with desktop visualizer.
Please let me know
No luck as of yet. Hopefully one off the existing launchers will incorporate that function in the future
Request
Why not send out some request to the devs of some of the launchers I am sure someone can make it for you.

Well it is a vertical launcher but after messing with it for awhile it does not allow me to remove the preset icons (you can only remove ones you create) & if using tiles you cannot get them to align in such a manner that they touch end to end. I was hoping to use the launcher to create tiles of my own using Desktop Visualizer. This is what I have created using Go Launcher, just want the home screens to scroll vertically. My ultimate goal is to create a home screen that scrolls vertically & create something that looks very similar to the Android Market:
I have send an email to the golauncher developers too and vot one back. But i think it's just a standard reply so i don't expect any luck there
EL TEJANO i want exactly the same thing. I've spend so many hours on the Internet searching with no luck. It's getting frustrating. I really hope golauncher or any other good launcher like ADW or Launcher Pro can add this function
So this thread is dead now?

Can't believe nobody has commented on this! This is excellent and very simple. I often go to great lengths to customize my phone, and spend a lot of time doing it. With the nexus, I use it so much I don't really find myself doing all too much to design home screens. This is the kind of leave it alone type home I've been trying to accomplish on this tab, just thought I'd reply to say nice work. One thing, the zip I downloaded did not include the yellow wallpaper. I'd you could share that one I would appreciate it.

This is nice, and I'm sure you put a lot of work in on this.
I have a couple of questions.
1. Is the big triangle necessary? It's right in the middle of the screen and is taking up space that could be used for other things.
2. Is there a way to change the icons in the app drawer? I could only change them on the home screen. And this is a lot of downloading and work for a couple of icons.

1. Not sure how to answer this..? I was aiming for a clean, and minimalist look. I would be glad to make you a wallpaper without the Play logo as soon as I get back home as I currently do not have access to the .psd
2. Not for the specific icons I used. However, Nova launcher supports ADW/Apex/Nova icon sets found in the Play Store which would change the icons in the app drawer. For example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweetypeety.newmiuiiconpackfree&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50d2VldHlwZWV0eS5uZXdtaXVpaWNvbnBhY2tmcmVlIl0.

If you are talking about using different themes from the settings with the option that is normally hidden you do not need G3Tweakbox.

If you download the "launcherpro" app from the play store and copy its activities widget to your home screen it will give you a list of apps/functions of apps that you can add as a shortcut on your home screen. If you scroll down to "Home" one of the options is "Home" with the subtext "com.lge.launcher2.debug.LGHomeHiddenMenuActivity" . Choose that option and you'll get a shortcut on your home screen that lets you access a menu with a variety of options. The one of interest for this thread is "Feature_Hide_Theme_Setting" on my G3 this was enabled, I turned it off I now I actually have access to themes in my home screen settings.
Once you unhide the menu you can actually get rid of launcher pro and themes will still be accesible. The theme menu is under Settings-Display-Home screen. You can also access the theme menu from the home screen by doing a long hold on the task switcher button and Theme will be an option on that popup menu along with system settings, lock screen settings, etc.
This only works if you still have KitKat, if you have Lollipop the Launcher Pro activity widget won't work(or at least it didn't for me). For lollipop I ended up finding an App called "activity launcher" and it did not list ""com.lge.launcher2.debug.LGHomeHiddenMenuActivity" as an option but I was able to select another entry and use Activity Launcer's option to edit shortcuts before making them to manually enter "com.lge.launcher2.debug.LGHomeHiddenMenuActivity" and got into the hidden menu with it.

Thanks for the explanation. I've done as you've explained and I get a toast notification "app not installed" (I'm on stock rooted 20b lollipop no xposed BTW). I'm assuming this means that either LG or T-Mobile removed the Theme app altogether in the Lollipop build. Has this worked for you on Lollipop to open the theme app or did I just read your post wrong?

If you go into the phone settings, there should be a setting called "identify unsaved numbers". Enable that. Profit.
Works great on mine. It may be country dependant though. Not sure if the setting is available on yours.

Here you go!
Hmm, I don't see it on mine either. Mine is the ATT variant.
That sucks. Maybe certain carriers disabled it. I'm on Telus in Canada now and it works, and my previous S7 Edge on Rogers also had the feature. It's awesome.
Perhaps it's on certain models? I'm running a dual sim version on Koodo and I don't have it either..

Maybe that's it. Disabled via software on certain models.
I don't have that option. Instead, I have this payed software installed by T-Mobile by default:

I have the Sprint version of payed caller ID installed on my phone.
The "identify unsaved numbers" is hidden but available in all ROMs. It might not work in your country so they disabled it for you. To get the option do the follwoing:
1. Download Nova Launcher and install it.
2. Once installed, run it and add an activity widget by long pressing on the screen.
3. In the list of activities to choose from (they are in groups by applications) scroll down to the Phone app. There are three Phone apps. Choose the one with the most activities (I had 99 activities in it, you might get less or more)
4. Once you click the Phone app, the list of activities will collapse and if you scroll down touwill find the "Identify unsaved numbers". Click on it to save the widget.
5. Click on the widget and enable the option.
6. Remove Nova Launcher to get back to TW.

Tried this, but I don't see any phone widgets
Edit: Nvm, figured it out. Need to long press, and select Widget. Under the Noiva Launcher group, select activities. Then go from #3.
Thanks for the help!
Cool. Got it enabled, but it is still not working as it should. Thanks to Sprint for making the phone just a bit worse.
it's showing on the UK variant I just picked up from O2. however I think it has the base firmware on it as it lacked all the O2 bloatware.
Thanks for the Nova guide, ATT user here and I also have that paid ID bs on my phone.
Reading up on it a bit more, it sounds like on some carrier versions, using Nova to enable doesn't change anything. Sounds like there is more involved with it. I have it enabled, but don't see any changes. Also, the local search doesn't work as well. Guess I'll use Google Phone in the meantime... At least i can get local search.
It is installed on the UK Samsung unlocked model.
