A couple of weeks ago I got Cyanogenmod on my Tab, from that point the battery life has been horrible, the battery percentage goes down by the minute and it goes down when I'm using it while charging too! This is a huge problem for me because I'm always using my Tab Pro. I want to know why this happens and if I can fix it.

A few things to check.
You really do need the 2.1A charger, not a 1.5A charger, if you hope to charge while running.
Ensure under Settings - WiFi - Advanced that "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is off.
Ensure same area "Scanning always available" is off.
CM seems to have a problem with Exchange servers, so if you're syncing to Exchange, change from push to polled.

Done. All I need now it to buy a new charger.
If you are still having problems go to stock rom. If you want to keep CM then get a custom rom

I do realize that everyone is probably going nuts playing with their new units and draining the battery life mad but I figured we start a thread to get general battery usage times from owners. We could also come up with a format that's acceptable, I'll start with this but we can change it as we go.

try SETCPU since you are rooted
make a profile for screenoff (i use 594-128)
that way when your phone sleeps the processor slows way down and doesnt use the battery as much
also if you meant when you sleep.....whenever you can.....use wi-fi and turn APN data off. That way the phone isnt searching for a cell tower constantly and using battery.
Hope this helps....PM questions

FOR 100% NO DRAIN ISSUE
ralnee said:
Okay.. I finally have some answers. I registered my phone on the Samsung site, and got into a live chat with a rep. I explained to the rep (as best as I could) that the battery usage was not updating once it reached 100%, without a reboot. After going back and forth (did you try A, yes I did, did you try B, yes I did...), she finally gave the the number of their "dedicated Galaxy S phones voice support team at 1-877-EZ2GALAXY (1-877-392-4252)".
I called the dedicated team and was finally told that this is a known HANDSET ISSUE, and to replace the phone.
I'm performing a full backup using Titanium Backup as I type this, then I'm going to do a NANDROID recovery (I think) and then reset the phone to factory settings. Then I'll replace the phone at the tmobile store I purchased it from.

Sure, and actually any battery app widget will show the battery level. The Nexus S stops charging at about 96%, so when you would unlpug the charger after it says 'charged', it immediately drops to 95-96%. I ended up buying a couple extra OEM batteries and a wall charger for them so I could pop in 100% charged batteries. Plus it made it so I never have to waste time charging my phone. When the battery dies, I swap batteries. Since this is the same 'family' of phones, I am real curious if the SGS2 does this also? Someone please confirm. Thanks!

I've read about this too, I thought they adjusted it on the software side though (so 100% displayed wasn't really 100% but actually more like the 96-97% of the actual charge on the battery, hence the calibration. I might be wrong though.

It does charge to a full 100% and gives that familiar notification that the battery is fully charged and to unplug it. It drops right to 98% after a few minutes though. Haven't really paid much attention to it just this once.

Can someone pull their battery cover and post the OEM battery p/n? If I get this phone, I will most definitely order some extra batteries and a wall charger. I get 2-4hrs more battery life in my Nexus S charging them to a full 100% in the wall charger and will likely have similar results with this phone. Thanks

I have had my N7 for a few days now (fully rooted using Buttered AOKP ROM and ElementalX 1.8 kernel). I have a US power adaptor with a UK adaptor. I have my N7 charging all night but it doesnt seem to go all the way to 100% - it gets to about 96%. Is this a known issue? Is it worth returning/exchanging the unit?

It's not a feature to extend the battery life of the device as in how many hours you can use it off the grid. It is a feature to extend the battery life as in how many charge cycles is the battery gonna last. It has been shown that if you drain a battery fully and recharge it to 100%, you put more strain on it than if you let it drain to 20% and charge it to 80%, that way you increase the usable charge cycles by a lot. That's what that feature is supposed to do.
My n7 has not been charging fully either. I am using the stock charger and I'm running PAC ROM for about 2 months but this just started happening. Idk why. This picture is after I had my tablet plugged in all night while charging
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I am running BlueLightning-20140410-jflte as my ROM, with the 3.4.82-ChronicKermel-KK4.4-AOSP-JFLTE-v3.1 kernel.
I have my governor set to ondemand, with my low clock speed set to 189MHz and the highest at 918MHz.
With the sound set to one click past off, with Wifi, Mobile Data and GPS turned off, with the screen on the dimmest settings, my battery STILL drains when I have the phone plugged in, if I am actively using an app or playing a game.
I did not find a Fast Charge option on this ROM, and I had to uninstall Xposed Framework, because it was preventing several of my apps and games from running.
I can't think of a reason that the battery would still be draining this quickly, using the settings that I described.
Is there something I am doing wrong, or something I missed along the way somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

To what are you plugged while charging? If you are plugged to a wall-outlet, make sure you are using the Samsung wall adapter (or at least one that can push 1.9A). I've found out that it isn't usually the cable that causes slow charging, but the wall adapter.
Also, download an app from the Play Store called Charging Current Lite to see what your charging rate is. While 1900mA (1.9A) is optimal, anything above 600-700mA should be enough to charge while in use. Much lower than that, you will only maintain what charge level you have or slowly drain power.

It's usually the wall adapter, but it is not the one that came with my phone. I got mine off of Craigslist, and it didn't come with a charger. I've been using the same one I used on my old LG Optimus L9. I never considered that.
Figured that plugging it directly into my computer via USB would give a weaker charge, but never thought it could be the wall charger, itself.
I'll run those tests and report back. Thanks!

Charging via USB will put you in the range of around 480mA. Even with fast charge on, it's somewhere around 600-700mA.

yeah , calculate accurate and post it :good:
Mine went from 6% to 62% in 59 minutes today. It reached 100% after about 100 mins. Stock charger and stock cable. You have to look for the double lightning bolt symbol in the battery icon to know that it's charging rapidly. The fast charging only works with the stock charger. I tried charging with my Nexus 6P charger which charges that phone quickly but didn't charge my Honor quickly.
The company has made a claim that it takes 1 hr 50 min to completely charge with their OEM Charger. So I am sure that the QC3 works fine since the battery capacity is also 4000mah. Other phones with 3000-3300mah charge within 1 hr 30mins coz they have substantially lesser capacity.

23:02 @ 13% (11mins; +8%)

Next time if you experience slow charging you can try flipping the cable 180 degrees and try. Because that's what I've noted and even @venugopalu007 also experienced similar thing.
I use Ampere from the playstore to test the voltage on all my phones, so I can figure out what connections work best.

I am also noticing the same thing. This is weird.
Mine can definitely go full charge under 2 hours charging from about 10%, BUT only if I don't touch it at all. If I use the phone at all during charging it charges at a literal snail's pace even if I open low power app like an ebook reader. Screen is always set to around 35% brightness, and I'm using stock in the box huawei charger. Ampere gives it a reading of 1060mA then it goes down to 600ish mA and it does display the doublebolt in the battery icon . Is that normal? At times it can charge for 40minutes while I'm using a game app and it barely increased 1%(screen on) While my sister using a micro USB charger on her xiaomi redmi note 4, had no severe slow down on charging times even when playing intensive games while connected to the charger( Same battery size I believe).
