from what i know or what i have heard from xda and the internet Nexus 4 and 5 are the only two devices that got the developer preview, every other android port is either half baked, or does not fully work, its not a complete work or do they have enough resources to build a daily driver
for now users that have nexus 5/4 are just experimenting with the previews, (if you cant wait for Google to clean up and get a fully build that can work then this is for you)
S3's are far from getting the android l ports, not to mention that they are no official 4.4.2 roms but stock firmwares that are rooted and betas and roms that use t-mobile/sprint bases
either way, we are far from 4.5 AND or if samsung is done with our beloved S3..........anywz AOSP roms will always be available so THE INFAMOUS S3 will never DIE

I am currently running cm11 on my m919 s4 (mdl). I love it. BUT. It does not support my galaxy gear smartwatch.
I have tried a couple 4.3 Roms, but all the data issues really suck. I just took my watch off and went with cm11.
Does anyone know of any kitkat roms that are in the works that may support the galaxy gear (touchwiz)?
How likely is it that CM will add Gear support?

CM is not gonna support your Galaxy Gear. And chances are high that S4 will never see Kitkat, so far there is no 4.3 and no one know when its coming.

For my watch, it seems like I would have to wait until 4.3 official comes out and a custom ROM is based off of that, and doesnt have modem/network issues.
Without the watch, cm11 (kitkat) is pretty nice! It will hold me over until theres a good 4.3 ROM.... then I'm leaning towards the watch
Why wont CM support the gear?

I have a SGT 3 GT-P5210 running Android 4.2.2 . But for some developing reasons I want to downgrade it to 4.0.3 ICS.
I have searched a lot on the web, but I couldn't find not even 1 ROM for 4.0.3 dedicated for my device.
I also have a look at this xda thread but nobody gives an answer in the end: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582179
I am actually thinking that it is completely impossible to find a ROM for my purposes, due to many reasons.
Is this right? Or does anyone have a link at such a ROM?
The scenario of just trying to flash a ROM of SGT 2 won't work due to the Intel Atom Processor of GT 3...Not saying that it could work otherwise...
Thanks in advance.
If you every heard of porting then google how to port and there is a lot of guides, so that can help you make a rom for your own then if it works upload it and share it with community

I googled for porting and I found some very interesting articles and guides. But it seems it is not possible for my purposes. The Port ROM has to be for the same processor type (Galaxy Tab 3 -> Intel Atom) and of the same manufacturer as of the Base ROM's (Samsung doesn't have an Intel tablet with Android ICS available..). In some guides I also read that the Android versions have to be of the same type, which is the opposite of what I want.
Porting from Galaxy Tab 2 will ,almost definitely, won't work since it has an ARM processor. But I will try it to ensure that it will fail.
Building from source is also impossible, because several vendor components will be needed, which are proprietary, and as a result, unavailable.
I will let you know when I brick my Tab 3 with Tab 2 ROM.

Why are you so n00b ???
Trying to flash a Tab 2 ROM on a Tab 3 ?
Architectures are VERY different,
Processor are different,
GPU are different,
RAM modules (DDR3L vs DDR2) are different,
Sound Cards are different,
So how could you port this ?
Have you already wondered WHY development of Tab 3 10.1 is too SLOW ?
Good luck with your port.
Btw, if you want the most smoothest ROM released for Tab 3 10.1, flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693396 :good:
It's an awesome rom with many features like Multi-Window

Hello There. Is there any chance for a port of android n to our beloved g3? Did Anyone tried to port the rom or does anyone have informations about Android N and G3?:good::good:
take a chill pill mate, the developer preview was just out and Google hasn't even properly announced it yet. CM will most probably be available when it's released, developer preview ports maybe?? who knows
But what about now? The dev preview just released, and it's stable. Shouldn't be too hard to port? I dunno..
Just wait for it.. Im not sure if LG will release Android N for G3, but i heard that its totally possible. Even if they dont, Cyanogen will bring it for us and then, other ROMs too. I bet that we will get it in less than 4 months.

Hi, is there any dev still working on this device? Has anyone tried compiling lineage OS 16 for the s3 i747?
I would like to, but I heard that it's a pain to make.
There are devices like sony xperia V with msm8960 which have android 8 and 9.
Thanks

i dont know if anyone can port it to s3 d2 devices hope it works
Android 9 probably won't even run right on the S3 given its age and old hardware.

S2 now run with android 10 (lineageos 17) although it is older and weaker
Interesting, didn't even know the S2 could run Marshmallow, let alone Android 10.
CrDroid O/S works good on my old Samsung Galaxy S3 i747

.
What! Given its age and old hardware! Ouch!
While I am a newbie, I have long enjoyed flashing Custom ROM's , from CyanogenMod, thru various versions of Lineage, and now CRdroid on my old (circa 2012) Samsung Galaxy S3 i747
The newest O/S that I flashed is CrDroid ( based on Android 8 ). Runs great. Long battery life.
BTW I am totally free of Google; no Google Play Store, no Google Pay, no Google Framework, no Gapps, no Google spyware, no Google bloatware, no Google tracking etc.
I download all my apps as APK's which are readily available on the Net ( Google them . . . just kidding! ).
My older Samsung S3 i747 was a 'd2att' originally locked to Rogers, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Then switched over to MTS (Manitoba Telephone System). Now running on Bell Canada. My replacement is also a Samsung S3 i747, originally running T-Mobile in Arizona, now running on Bell Canada.
These are damn fine phones!
Well if the S2 can handle Android 10, then I guess the S3 can too. I haven't used my S3 in like 2 years. I have a S10+ now as my daily driver.

actually if the s3 could run up to Android 11 because the s3 19300 does. The problem is that nobody has wanted to continue taking port for the 1747 model because in my s3 19300 there is up to android 10 which is less powerful than the 1747 model, that is, the 19300 has less ram than the 1747 and supports android 10 2021. conclusion without anyone that is motivated to remove the port will stay in Android 7.1 which is which I have the 1747
Hey!
So, I am really familiar with the most ROMs out there, since I am part of the XDA and Android community since like SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro and used custom ROMs multiple times and still on a few of my devices I do.
Most of the time I have used the most popular ROMs that people use daily like PureNexus for Nexus 6 and MiniCM7 for X10 Mini Pro, etc, but I am not sure how things are supported on the Pixel 3 line.
I do own a Pixel 3 XL at the moment using the latest stock Google image with December update
What is the current ROM that people using? Is it worth to go to custom already? If yes, what is the best ROM that I should start with now?
Is there any downside to this at the moment? Like some features not available unlike on stock image?
I need opinions/suggestions.
I usually like stable/fast ROMs, not really interested in features.
Thanks!
If you just want stable and fast I would stick with stock. Havoc and Lineage are available, but I do believe active edge is not working on custom roms since Android 10.

Havoc is completely stable and has been my daily driver since the day it was released for both 9 and 10. The only two things I don't have working yet are squeeze and Pixel stand. Both were there in 9, so I'm sure it is just a matter of time. Others have mentioned Android Auto issues, but I don't even have it installed.
Stock + Kirisakura Kernel.
