Sprint lg g2 with sprint? - Sprint LG G2

Hello, i recently just got an lg g2 which I don't have activated atm. It is the sprint one but I am currently using cricket on another phone and was hoping that this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655133 will hopefully allow me to use this g2 with cricket. I love this phone. If it is possible, I would also like help on how to root the stock firmware as I don't think any custom rom will make this beast any faster.

There is a way to unlock the phone but i fear that these roms are catered to 4g lte and simply mobile is only 4g will that affect service as far as data or email and text etc? Will it even work at all?

No lmao. If u dont know the difference between att radios and tmobile radios, then id advise u not to even bother with rooting and flashing. U can only get and will only get EDGE/2G data speeds. Period

How would i unlock the bootloader on 4.3

I have a Verizon note 2 i605 running VRUEMJ9 I would like to unlock the bootloader to flash roms or install a 2nd bootloader. I am rooted. I'm curious how I would do this I've searched around and have found nothing. Also I was wondering since 4.4 kitkat is coming out how would I upgrade if my phone is not activated. Thanks in advance

This subject is posted all over the place, you can not unlock the bootloader right now, it is just not possible. We are all hoping for it, but we don't have any choice but to wait. Safestrap is not compatible with the phone either right now. I'm not sure about the non-activated update, but I don't see why it wouldn't work like normal.

So I would just update via WiFi then

Yes, that should work

On other handsets, rooting and the Wifi Teather for Root Users app has worked for me in the past on T-Mobile. Tethering is functional after flashing this device to a new rom, but that is on Vodafone and it didn't work before that. But American carriers might work differently.

What's the Tmobile name for the G3?

I see like 4 or 5 different names for the G3, which is for Tmobile? Mine is coming today so I'm looking into rooting.
Thanks.
D851 and T-Mo doesn't have a "released" root yet - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/tmEeVeok0a5J858BN_NfUWg/htmlview#

Only Custom. ? Although, I have a question, since I'm without service now. What is the OTA update version (zv7, zv8, zva, zvc, etc...) of their last official release? I want to keep an eye out when the sources are posted on the opensource.lge.com server.

Korea isn't international? Hmm, I'm pretty sure from the USA it is international to us. International such as Europe will have before us.

If you want out use either one of the other major carriers buy out your contract deal.
All in all, sometimes putting up with a little bull ****, for less is worth it.
As for me being disabled with a wife and children. Money is more important then an upgrade. And sprint is cheaper.
So I deal with it.

It's a known fact that Sprint never get updates, so sorry but you have no clue. They are usually one of the first. And all carriers charge you a fee to get out of your contract.
Sent from my LG G2 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Are right guys I owned the optimus g and never got sufficient updates that's all people are saying yeah I know sprint is cheaper but it's a reason it's so cheap is because of the network it sucks
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
It does, though sometimes the updates are not just sprint but manufacturers because of sprint.
We have a different NFC chip then the other versions of our phones. CDMA of sprint is antiquated.
There have been 5 updates to the Sprint G2 since it's release. That's quite a few yes?
Anyways, Lollipop is still going to be a while since Sprint isn't even testing it yet based on this - http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS980-SPRINT/latest
