[Q] Changing Fonts on Verizon G3 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have seen tutorials on how to change the fonts on the G3, but the method described doesn't work on the Verizon G3, from what I can tell. The option to adds fonts to the system is missing.
Is there some method of adding fonts to the system without rooting that I am missing? I may end up rooting mine, but I'd like to make sure I want to keep it before doing so, and not being able to swap out the font is bugging me, primarily from being so happy with the font I used on my M8 (Handel Gothic).

WM6.1 Issues - Please Help :)

Hello,
First of all - I'd like to thank everybody for their support especially Kavana and Ricky for cooking these 6.1 ROMS. Wonderful Job !
Secondly, I finally got to installing 6.1 but still haven't made any modifications except restore sms/contacts and install smart tool kit. I love it - it's pretty fast compared to wm6.
The issues that I'm having is the following:
1) Colors - Say if i want Sliding Panel as my theme, how do i go about getting a black one and having a black background - sorry if it's been covered already.
2) SMS - I had almost 200 + SMS from my girlfriend that i had backed up and after installing 6.1, i restored them all only to find out, everything is in order now that is - for example
all incoming sms organized into sub-folders.
A
B
C
Even though this is cool, I don't prefer it and would like to go back to how it used to be before, that is all sms sorted by date - i'm having a hard time reading all her sms so if someone can please tell me what to do in regards to this, that'd be great.
3) Finally, I find that the system fonts pretty small compared to wm6, what can i do to change this?
For now, I think this will be all. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me solve these issues.
hmm, noone has a solution? I'd really appreciate it.
Some Resolution

1) Go to settings, home. Select Sliding Panel. Under the section that says color scheme, select black. Also, as far as having a black background, find one you like. Open it with your phone using file explorer. Select it as homescreen under the menu tab using the right soft key.
2) No help here
3) Edit your xml code and select different fonts for what pieces you want. You might also have to look at your .cpr file and edit it as well. Just use notepad to edit either one of these. Just look in the file for lines that refer to fonts like Lucidia Grand, or Times New Roman, etc. You get the picture? I hope so, good luck.
Thanks for your help!
LOL - I feel like a noob, even though i've done pretty much everything with this phone with WM6, i guess 6.1 cause of the new interface and all - i figured everything i wanted so far, haven't gotten the fonts yet but will do so but yeah got the sms threading disabled, got rid of clockontop, changed my background etc.

Diamond-like Start Menu Font

I was wondering if anyone knew the reg hack to change the startmenu/softkey font to Arial..
The great majority of users I know use a replacement start menu of some sort making it as easy as going to the options. If you want to change the default start menu's font I am relatively certain that it will change everything that uses the system font. I would find the reg-edit for you, but I don't have my registry editor installed right now, you can probably find it on Google.
Kevin1a, unfortunately not, mate. I've changed my system font by SPB Tips and Tricks and it did not change the softkeys' font. And SPB changed three types: main font, menubar font and popup menu font.
I also tried SKTools, but I did not find any option to change them.
In fact, I really want to know how can I change the softkeys' fonts too.

[Q] Edit the default android lockscreen

Hello you all
I would like to have some information about editing the default android lockscreen.
First of all, I know that it is much easer to work with a lockscreen replacer like widgetlocker. But I hate the fact there is a lag on it, you sometimes can unlock the default screen, open for example the app drawer when suddenly your phone get locket again, but this time with the slow responding widget locker.
And besides that, I like to mess around with that sort of things
What I did so far just deleting the htc sense lock screen (thanks to warriorvibhu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948976). But when you do so, you notice that the sliders on your screen are way to big.
This can be solved by flashing an other framework, and I did that (using remove_HtcLockscreen.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10192875&postcount=2). The only problem is that this framework is, in my opinion, deadly ugly. So I thought "as I've seen that it is possible, I just going to modify the things my self".
I did all sort of things, using the new framework to see which things where changed. The plan was to look where the lockscreen was defined, to look for diferences and to make modifications in the standard sense framework.
The two most important things I already have done is
- modifying the keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml of the framework-res.apk so that it matched with the one in the framework-res.apk that I downloaded - resulted in nothing.
- deodexing the android.policy.jar classes.dex file. I've seen that there are a lot of smali files in there reguarding the "lockscreen" and "keyguard", but first of all I don't now which one does what an secondly, I've seen that the standard sense android.policy.jar doesn't contain a classes.dex file. I've already tried to push the android.policy.jar with the classes.dex file in my phone, but I noticed no difference.
Reading this it appears to me that it doesn't seem that I have done so much. But I can assure you, I've done a lot more, but most of the time it had nothing to do with the lockscreen and/or resulted in a bootloop.
But now my ideas have come to an end, and this is why I'm asking for help. Can somebody set me off in the good direction? I know that it must be possible to make the sliders normal, so it is really driving me crazy not to see which files I should edit.
Thank you in advance,
Erwin

I flashed this one when I was using Sense and the lockscreen looked OK, not too big, not too small, just like the default android.
Kinda like this, but better:

Thank you, but again, this is something that changes icons etc. And all I want to do is make the slide bars look like in that ROM
But reading trough that topic, it looks to me that it appears to be difficult to make changes in sense roms... Still hoping that someone can point me the files that should be edited, or at least set me of in the good direction.
But thank you Alex_GP for your fast respons!
Erwin
I don`t know these stuff, but you can try PM-img HewGBalls http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3193485 and asking him for directions, seeing that he`s the one that worked on this before.

[Q] Personalize and system-wide colors on M8

Hello all,
I am trying to port some of the stock M8 apps (music, messaging, blinkfeed, and keyboard) so that they can be used on any device, and I have encountered a slight roadblock. I am able to get the apps to run on another device, but I cannot change the accent colors / theme. To specify, I want a way to change the color of the title bars (like you can do on the phone itself) but from a non-stock app.
Has anyone figured out how HTC's personalization menu works to change these colors? I've checked most of the places I think it could be, but have been unsuccessful.
If someone could help me out, that would be great! I'll post the finalized versions of the ports when I have them finished (if someone hasn't already done it).

Question fonts for vivo x80pro (stock and third party)

Hi,
There are only 2 stock fonts. I tried to put new ones through the themes, but everything is in Chinese and it’s completely unclear what the font will look like and whether it will be compatible with my language (I put one font on trial and as a result the phone started to fail).
Moreover, I somehow lost two standard fonts (perhaps after cleaning the phone with third-party programs), is it possible to somehow restore two standard fonts?
well, the main question is how to put other fonts not from vivo themes
Same here! Please help us, guys.
I used the zFont 3 app but sadly, you still have to go into the app every time and follow all the steps to change the font from there. It's a process every time. I wish there was a way to have multiple fonts in the font option to be able to go back and forth and change them without going into an app. But for now the app works well.
thanks! its works fine!
