can someone show me the way to install CM10.2.1 and how to adapt the build T999UVUENC2 for CM
Im running Android 4.3 thanks
You should be able to install a recovery via ODIN and and flash the ROM from there. The stock build shouldn't matter.

I have CWM but when i tried to install it with TWRP it said an error with error with all the builds but my build wasnt in the list
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Free mobile app
CM doesn't update their updater-scripts when new builds are released. So even though it'd probably work just fine, NC2 isnt included in the asserts and so it refuses to flash.
You'll have to edit the updater-script and add your build to get it to flash. Be aware though, the asserts are there for a reason, and if you are not absolutely 100% certain its safe to flash on your device, you shouldn't edit it to allow the flash.
Just the Updater script? Are u sure
Can u do it for me
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes I am sure. You are getting a status 7 error about the assert right?
I can do it but I cant promise it'll be before late tomorrow.
All you have to do is this:
Open the updater-script with notepad++ (regular text editors will not work).
At the very top you'll see assert lines with different build numbers. There may be two for each build. Replace one (or two if there are two already) with your current firmware build.
Delete the 3 signature files in meta-inf.
Rezip
Flash
If you dont know your firmware build, open terminal emulator and enter this:
getprop ro.bootloader
I will try it, I will let you know thanks

But can u modify the ROM for me because maybe if I do it it I will mess up that so u could do it and upload the rom fixed
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Free mobile app
Id only be uploading the updater-script. Its the only thing that'd be changed. Dont be intimidated by it though. Its a very quick, easy edit. Just replace one or two of the builds in the asserts with your own. If you search xda for updater-script asserts you'll probably find numerous examples.
Just make sure you use Notepad++, and remember to delete those 3 signature files.
Someone else may have already done so btw. Have you searched through the roms thread? CM11 might be more likely to already have it done.
Im going to wait for you to upload the file and I just copy the Updater script to the Zip and where are the signature files?

Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Free mobile app
No idea when a stable version is coming out... I'd imagine soon though, they are on milestone builds. And you know you don't need to download apps everytime right? That's what app backup apps like Titanium Backup are for... And you can also dirty flash too... That allows you to keep your apps installed... Just wipe cache and dalvik after dirty flashing and most of the time you'll be OK. Keep in mind dirty flashing should only be done on the same ROMs with only minor changes...

Yes. Sorry I didnt get back to you yesterday. Got caught up with too many other things and just didn't get around to downloading and editing the script.
But that does look right to me, so you should be good to go. And if you did make some mistake, it'll simply just not flash, so there's not too much to really worry about.
Do you still need help on this?

As many of you know, my goal with Rom Chicago has always been to build the simplest and most functional rom. The original Rom Chicago was based on tmobile's release products. Red Line is the culmination of everything I have learned so far: It is built from source, based on AOKP, with the intent of making the Rom fully AOSP over time. Thus, some AOKP features have been removed. The goal is SPEED, STABILITY, and FUNCTIONALITY.
When I figure github out finally I'll push the source.

Does wifi calling work on this ROM?
im not sure about this but i would say no. wifi calling is a tw feature and being that there is no source code yet for our phone all jb roms r aosp which dont support wifi calling
Can you (or someone else that desires to be bothered with it) give a quick overview of which features of AOKP haven't been included?
I assume things like Tablet Mode aren't in this build, or...?
I think asking for flashing instructions are valid for a couple reasons...
You won't have a thread full of asking how to flash

As to not get into a debate on flashing lets be honest...
*wipe/data factory reset(TDJ script if on old CWR 5.0.2.x)Also works with TWRP
*flash rom
*flash gapps(if applicable)AOSP based roms
*wipe cache/dalvik(TDJ script if on old CWR 5.0.2.X) Also works with TWRP
*fix permissions(if applicable)
*reboot
*wait 5-10 minutest to settle

[PATCH] *** N7105 AT&T and VZN ROMs on your SPH-L900 *** [N7100 works for ADV Users]
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You brick it, you fix it!
This is a combination of work from scrosler and myself. I saw where Scott did this for the VZN GN2 and I modified it to work with the Sprint (SPH-L900) GN2 phones. With this modification your are able to flash N7105 ,AT&T (SGH-I317) and Verizon (SCH-I605) Roms to your phone. Both of those rom bases are confirmed working. Please make sure you do not flash modems/radios for the above listed devices. N7100 INT roms can be flashed using this method ONLY AFTER they have been ported to the N7105/i317 following madmack's guide in this thread. I can confirm that a port I just did of a N7100 rom works as well.
First download the SPH-L900 patch from HEREhttp://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390248398092764671
Download a stock SPH-L900 kernel from the bottom of this thread -- Perseus kernels work as well, found HERE
Choose a N7105, SGH-i317 or SCH-I605 rom that does not install modems/radios - The Swedish N7105XXDLL1 4.1.2 stock rooted base can be found HERE
Follow the steps to flash below:
Reboot into recovery
Make a full backup
Perform a complete wipe (cache, dalvik, factory reset, system) in TWRP
Flash the N7105 or SCH-I605 ROM you downloaded
Flash the SPR_GN2_Config zip file
Flash the Stock or Perseus kernel
Wipe Dalvik/Cache
Reboot System
If you happen to do exactly what I told you not to and flashed a rom that installed a modem/radio and you no longer can get signal, if you didn't brick it and can still boot into download mode, you will need THIS FILE to flash in ODIN to restore factory SPH-L900 specs.
WARNING: Data may or may not work if you do not change the mount point for the DATA partition to the correct one in the updater-script!
.

It didnt work with the MIUI they have on ATT. ROM installed fine, but no data. I did the procedure in the OP step by step.
Possible cause - I think that even thought it is Touchwiz based, it uses MIUI base phone and framework (I am the one who got data to work on the port by lbx_mobbin_1 by tweaking the framework)

yeah... hasn't poped up yet... thanks for this... keeps the options for roms open
Hello, I've worked with custom roms and such before, but only stable things. I installed the Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly builds, and I've been updating them every day, through TWRP by just flashing the rom, and gapps. A snapshot was just released, and I was wondering if I just do it the same method, or do I have to do the wipe system and all that when you first install a brand new rom. I'm pretty sure I do it the same way, but I just want to make sure there isn't have to be anything else. Better safe than sorry.
Oh my why are you going through all that trouble CyanogenMod has a built in updater all you do is go to about and then CyanogenMod update I believe it will ask you the frequency to check for updates. Make sure you change the options to nightly builds. The phone will notify you when there's an update, after downloading the phone will update itself and all your apps will still be there so you won't need to flash G apps each time.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
The process to do this is called a "dirty flash" because you are flashing over what you already have without wiping again. Usually if its an updated version of the same rom you dont need to rewipe everything
However, if you come upon this in some other rom (you're updating to a new version of it), make sure that the OP's instructions dont mention a full flash, because the nature of some big updates WILL require you to do a full wipe and then flash
But for this specific case, just do what the guy above me said

You should just be able to flash t-999 ROMs, of course you'll have to do a full wipe before switching to different ROMs. No need to flash kernel or a modem when flashing another ROM. I would stay away from any modems or radios unless it is specifically for the t999L it could brick the phone.

Seriously though, this is what I created the thread for. This is the type of question you could just post there rather than starting another thread. And if there is something missing, or needs further explanation.....well, I kind of need people to let me know. What details exactly were you looking for? And just to show you, this is covered there, I am directly copying just a very small portion of what I have there. If something here is not detailed enough, please mention it in the thread. Thx!
Flashing ROM's To Your T999L
You CAN flash any of the ROM's which are built for the original T999. Pretty much any ROM you find in our Development Section should work on the T999L.
There are, however, just a few small things that you need to remain aware of.
TouchWiz ROM's
Touchwiz ROMs are those based on the Stock, Shipped firmware (The software that came on your device)
If the ROM you choose includes a kernel, everything should work and you have nothing else to worry about.
If it does NOT come with a kernel, you will most likely have to flash either the UVDMD5 kernel, or the UVAMB7 kernel + Modules. More information and both can be found in my Development thread.
Either kernel should work just fine. You are free to choose either one. If you run into issues with one, please share the information so everyone else can benefit, and also to confirm for you that it is a kernel problem.
CM / AOSP / AOKP
Some of these roms will not flash without editing the updater-script. As these roms progress, the devs should add the T999L making this more of a Non-Issue.
If you get a Status 7 error, you will most likely need to follow these steps to make it flashable.
Unzip the ROM.
Browse to and open the updater-script (use Notepad+++
At the top you will see the 'Asserts'
You have 2 options:
1. Remove all of the Assert lines.
2. Add another assert. If the current ones are using d2tmo, add d2ltetmo. If using UVDMD5, add UVAMB7.
Save and rezip the file. (delete the signatures if present)
Flash ROM.

Any compatible kernels with the nightlies? I tried KT747 (3/9/14) and BMS (3/5/14) and they don't seem to work as the com.phone.application stops responding after a reboot from installing the kernel. Not sure if you installed the Google Dialer, but that will cause issues with the latest CM builds, so it may not be kernel related but I'm guessing without more info. Check your System/add-on directory and see if you have a Google dialer entry. If yes, in the FAQ it walks you through the steps to take to clear out the dialer, which is basically wipe system, install ROM, install gapps, wipe caches, good to go.

There's only the com.android. dialer entry that I've found so far. I've read the procedure that you suggested but I think that's the same thing as installing a new ROM and pushing out the GApps package again which might've included the Google dialer. AFAIK, CM intertwined the Dialer app with the Phone one so removing the Dialer one might not seem ideal..

To confirm it's in the add on folder, not the system folder. Meaning you shouldn't have a googledialer file in the add on folder.

Flashing the bootloader didn't work? How do you know? What did you do? What file did you flash?
