LG-D855
Well.. So I was actually using it a few minutes earlier and stopped using it for about 10 minutes.
When I wanted to use it to take a picture, I used the shortcut button which is volume button down, I realize it didn't do anything so I tried double taping the screen to open.
I couldn't get to lock screen. I tried pressing the power button, nothing happens.
I have no clue what just happened.
I tried taking off the battery and let it rest awhile and I tried to put it back and power it on again.
Nothing.
Just blank screen.
I had this phone for 21 days only

Anyone had this issue yet. Was just using the GN as normal and the screen went black... Power button did nothing to bring it back. Left it for 10 mins to see if it was just stuck doing something. Nothing. Tried the power and volme buttons and scren repeatedly. Lifeless.
Had to pull the battery out.
Hmmmm...
I had this happen to me last night. But used to happen on my old HTC Legend quite frequently...and only happens when using the phone pretty intensively.

Hello there, I was installing Recovery using this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746682, I only went up to the first part of unrooting the phone where it asks me to connect my and install te recovery, my phone after the root did not want to turn on. I tried using the Volume +/- along with the home key, nothing, it just vibrates and nothing. I tried pulling out the battery and the same thing happened, no matter what I did, it vibrates and won't turn on. Also when I hook it up to the charger and try turning on it vibrates and it keeps vibrating in loops, around 2-3 sec apart. What is wrong with my phone? Please don't tell me it's a brick, I just got it yesterday ;p

I think this kit is honestly the easiest way to brick your phone. There are simply too many options, most of them have no real use for this phone, and the free version never gets updated. Honestly think it's a bad move for people who are new to the game.
To get in download mode:
Start with the phone off.
Press and hold the home button and volume down button.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates.
Release the power button.
To get in recovery mode.
Start with the phone off.
Press and hold the home button and volume up button.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates.
Release the power button.
Release the volume up and home button when the blue text appears in the top left corner of the screen.
If these won't work, you are bricked. Time for JTAG.
I agree 100%. That kit seemed pretty helpful for some when this was still pretty new, but recently it seems there are more reports of failures (or worse) than successes. When you get this fixed I suggest reading all the stickies and then take it from there.
Good luck

Got a problem. My S3 won't boot up. I'm running AOKP, not sure which version.
When I pull the battery and put it back in, the Samsung logo flashes once, like it's trying to boot, without me ever touching the power button, then it goes black. I went to the cell phone store and tried with another battery. Same result.
I've been having problems with the power button sticking internally recently. No evidence of sticking from the outside, but the power menu randomly appears, and the phone would randomly shut off. I don't have a lock on my phone, so I overused the power button a lot.
Is it supposed to turn on like that after you pop in a fully working battery, or does that mean the power button is being held in place? Could someone confirm what happens if the power button on the S3 is held down continuously after you turn it on?
Also might be a software or flash problem from too many random reboots.
Hopefully the motherboard is not toast.
It's likely that you are just having a stuck power button. Normally if you just hold it down, first the power menu will appear and if you continue to hold it down, the phone will go black and try to restart.

How can I fix this?
Today in class, i was playing a game on my phone before we started the lesson, and i left it on my desk to start working and the phone's screen faded to black after a lack of usage for 2 minutes. After 5 minutes i went back to my phone but it wouldn't turn on. I tried holding the power button to reset it, i've tried holding down the home button, power button, and the volume down and up keys but it doesnt do anything. It doesnt even vibrate. It turned into a brick for no reason at all. The only thing this brick does anymore is have LED light blink blue every 5 seconds or so. I was on 77% power when it started doing this so battery shouldnt even be a problem. Anyone have any ideas why this thing started doing this?
Try holding the volume down key and power key, not home key. That is the general reset method method. If that doesn't work try taking it to the store. S6 is a phone with lots of bugs =(

I was starting to download some digital magazines I'd checked out from the library using the Zinio app. When I started, the screen flashed for a second and then the screen went black and the animated Samsung logo popped up like the tablet was powering down, or like you see when powering up. The only problem is that it's been that way for about a half hour now. It's not doing anything that I can see. I've tried to power down and it won't shut off. I've closed the magnetic cover, and it won't go to sleep. I've tried the volume up/power button reset, and that does nothing. I guess it's just going to stay like this until the battery dies completely. Has anyone ever seen behavior like this? Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice or opinions.

Try holding Power+Vol Down+Home at the same time. It should reset to the bootloader screen. Then you can press Vol down to reset the tablet.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm back in business!
It did not reset to the bootloader. It just went dark and reset completely. No options or anything that I could see. Or maybe that's what you meant by the bootloader screen. Anyway, I didn't have to press any other buttons after holding down the Power+Vol Down+Home buttons for about ten seconds. It completely shutdown/rebooted and, once it came back up, everything seems to be fine.
Thanks again for the suggestion.
